  1. Pillars 1 has a 0,6% POTD completion rate on steam (overall rate is 10,7%, which is the expected number in this genre). Even then, top level play is very important to ANY game. The average gamer enjoys engaging in a community, a larger fanbase supportive of high level play. It happens in sports, esports, MMOs, minecraft-likes, even in tabletop RPGs (e.g. critical role). High level play is meaningful because it shows high level design. Obsidian is well aware of this fact, so we can safely assume they are being honest about tuning POTD in the next few weeks. As a fellow POTD'er, of course I'm anxious, and a little disappointed because i wanted some Raedric-level challenge (not ondrites monks, please!) right after launch. So I ask for people facerolling POTD right now: give constructive feedback, so you can have great second playtroughs. Which areas would benefit for terrain changes, which ones need more enemies, what mobs are asking for buffs etc.
  2. Xoti monk subclass is a trap if you follow her basic setup. Offensive subclass bonus (wounds on kill), but you are wearing hatchet + small shield - how are you supposed to kill anything with hatchet and shield? Her sickle/lantern combo is awesome RP-wise, but it's an awful match for her subclass mechanics. I'm playing her as a contemplative. It is far away form optimal, but viable picking defensive monk abilities and forgetting about murdering people with a sickle. I would suggest changing her subclass to a mechanic like Corpse Eater: she would do her Gaun thing on dead bodies and gain resources, or power levels.
  3. Dumping resolve = maxing your time crowd controlled. I would never dump resolve in Deadfire. Dex is dump stat for many chanters, int for many striker/defender builds, might for some supports, con for snipers... Maybe even perception for a strict summoner. But I can see no build that would benefit from being disabled.
  4. I lol'ed because my last run was exactly like yours (berath tidefall + eder/pallegina/aloth/zahua), and I'm planning on taking Tekehu as the new companion. Berath Priest/Goldpact paladin is my choice of overpowered main for deadfire. Along with Edér tank, pallegina offtank/support and Aloth crowd control, Tekehu would help everyone else as an offensive support.
  5. Quick question about companions, multiclass and respec'ing: Suppose I build Xoti as Contemplative (priest + monk). If it does not work greatly, can I respec her as a full Priest? We don't know much about her subclasses yet, but I do not believe long casting + taking wounds make a great combo.
  6. I'm not really a fan of uber powerful cleric spells thematically. This glory I lend to archmages and archdruids. Anyway, like ciphers that Voss mentioned, priests have better low level abilities.
  7. Thanks! My character comes from Berath Tidefall build (I borrowed it from you, btw), sanguine plate was his outfit but neither tanking nor glass cannon is what I'm aiming for. Just a nice looking, viable outfit for a Berath godlike going a bit cynical after Sun in Shadow. Berathian robes or something both light and macabre would actually be great.
  8. Hi Would a Melee focused priest of berath gain much from multiclassing into a Goldpact Knight? I'm thinking about this templar mostly for RP reasons, but I wonder if aoe buffer + greatsword striker + tank may be spreading oneself too thin
