  1. There is nothing wrong in using colorful language to state your opinion, though a little more tact and less racist remarks would have been appreciated. I give it a 6 on the flame rating scale.
  2. What are you babbling about? Artificially limiting your characters make no sense. If you are role playing your characters right, they would want to use every available option. WHat you are suggesting is metagaming and that is just a piss poor way to game. Plain and simple.
  3. Hmmm... that could work. Just as long as I have a choice in not playing a Jedi I can be happy with that.
  4. You just can't beat Malcolm McDowell. From Clockwork Orange to Star Trek: Generations, he makes a very good bad guy.
  5. I am hardly an experienced Hardcore gamer. I just can't see why anyone would want to put the game on easy when the game is easy enough on difficult.
  6. The death toll has risen to around 114,000 and expected to get higher.
  7. What I like to see, story wise, is a character fresh out of the academy or schooling. He or she has no experience, thusly first level, because he or she hasn't experienced anything yet and has to live, explore, and survive the aftermath of galaxy shattering war.
  8. Because lightsabers, starships, and aliens fit within the context of the story and setting and which needs to be consistant within itself. The game mechanics need to fit within this consistancy in a CRPG or PnP RPG in order to effective tell that story in an interactive manner.
  9. Or do what Obsidian is doing with NWN 2. Use the same base engine, but have a totally new graphics engine on top so everything looks pretty.
  10. That has nothing to do with it. It makes no sense to suddenly forget everything you learn. It breaks continuity and destroys the suspension of disbelief which a good story needs to maintain.
  11. For the story to have any merit there needs to be some realism to it. For any sory of immersion there must be a way which the player can feel that it is real within the context of the setting. Ultima is not d20 so it is not govern by the same rules and it did irk me quite a bit actually. Without a good dose of realism, within the context of setting, I cannot have fun.
  12. I agree with number man. I think you guys are being way too... something or rather.
  13. It is sad, and I agree with you that he was one of the great television actors, it just seemed so out of the blue.
  14. I have seen 8 year olds figure out the d20 System at local gaming events. Kids who are still teething on Pokemon. Once you sit down and read the material, its not that hard to figure out. Edit: I am not trying to be insulting, and if I came across that way I apologize. If you can play Vampire you can easily figure out the d20 System. I am at a lost at the Vampire system. Here is a link to where you can download the d20 rules, both modern/future and fantasy as well a host of other material. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/20040121a You want to click on the SRD main links.
  15. That is still the best route to take in my ever so humble opinion.
  16. I was able to ebat KotOR easy enough with a 8th level Scoundrel/12th level Counsulor.
  17. Well, it wouldn't be the first one to hit us and causing widespread cataclysm.
  18. I never saved levels. Felt too artificial and metagamey.
  19. Like space age Elroy Jetson Rocket Pants! VRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
  20. Polite villains. They offer you tea before executing you.
  21. But it didn't.
  22. Well, they want to be self sufficient and good for them. Also they are sending aid to other places like Sri Lanka.
  23. And not a bad song either. "Hey, Mister Postman!"
  24. d20 is too hardcore!?!?!?! Man, what are you smoking? Rolemaster is hardcore. FUZION is hardcore. Rifts is hardcore. The d20 System is one the more user friendly PnP systems out there. Man, you think d20 is hardcore? I have to laugh at that.
