  1. Planescape should be the standard of story quality in a CRPG.
  2. Okay here are my likes in no particular order: 1. Gaming. 2. German Chocolate Cake 3. Jack Daniels 4. Writing 5. Complaining Okay, here are my hated dislikes in no particular order: 1. First Person View in computer games 2. bean sprouts 3. All beers (they look like urine mix with soap water) 4. Unemployment 5. Cheerful optimistic people.
  3. Sorry, I only have fun with CRPGs. I have tried other genres in the past. Played Alpha Centauri, the Civilization games, Unreal Tournement, and the such and I only have real fun when I play a CRPG. Occasionally I play a good space sim, but their hasn't ben any since Freespace 2 and Wing COmmander.
  4. Key word here volourn is "with mods." I stillhave fun with BG 1 and BG 2 along with the Fallouts without mods.
  5. Klauth, for example, is a great wyrm red dragon. A baseline great wyrm red dragon has the spell casting power of a 19th level sorcerer. A 19th level sorcerer has 6 slots worth of spells from 0 to 8th with 4 9th level spell slots. Did Klauth cast any 9th level spells at all? Did he cast any 8th level spells? How about 7th or 6th? Hell no. @Kaften: What do you mean not the same platform? BG2 is a DnD CRPG set in the Forgotten Realms. What is Neverwinter Nights? A DnD CRPG set in the Forgotten Realms. Seems pretty much the same to me.
  6. Fallout, easily.
  7. Well, my little halfling rogue monk fought two dragons at the end of the OC. It was freaking ridiculous because they were doing more damage to each other than my character. HAHAHA!
  8. If its not a CRPG then no, I will not be buying it.
  9. And the NWN dragons are a pushover compared to their BG2 counterparts. Did I mention I took on two dragons at once in NWN without even a scratch? Man, uber lame.
  10. No, you are wrong. By my experience I speak truth.
  11. Hardly. I died more than once against Firkraag. Against Klauth I had a pretty easy time of it. I had a party of six and getting my butt kicked in BG 2. I had all by my lonesome in NWN. Hard kill versus Easy kill. Hmmm... NWN loses.
  12. Like I said I wasn't expecting NWN to be a super game from the gods, just a game that is on par in quality as Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2. At least dragons in BG 2 were a challenge.
  13. Considred I never got that game to work right, even withthe patches, both official and unofficial, it is one of the primary reasons why I don't buy games any more. That and KotOR were my last purchases. I don't see anything on the horizon that will make me want to reach for my pocket book.
  14. Yeah, but there is only so much one can take. I had my full with ToEE.
  15. Seriously, get your money back and put in another ouple of months worth of savings. It would be worth it. I had a 5200 and upgraded to a 5700LE. I have ben kicking myself not doing that in the first place. Also there are plenty of places where you can get an LE for less than $150. As for that card it could be a bad card.
  16. Yes, but no drow children. No children where the bulk of the fighting was going to take place.
  17. Yes, but we shouldn't be getting "use to it" at all. I am sick of seeing shoddy work in CRPGs. It seemed that once the Infinity Engine was put to pasture every CRPG has been, well crap.
  18. Well, we did have our doubts.
  19. Well anyway, lets get back on topic shall we. I don't see any CRPGs that is coming out that spark my intertest. I think withthe recent bunch of bad CRPGs has pretty much deaden my taste for any new releases.
  20. The only other language than English I know with any form of fluency is Latin. I still want to know what was going in my head when I took those latin classes.
  21. Uncompletable quests are good signs of amateurish game design. They should have removed them completely or finished them. Tsk, tsk, Chris. I thought yu were better than that.
  22. Here is my first post: "Will Project X be worth the money? Will it be fun? Who knows at this point. I doubt the design team would have a clear idea at this point how players will react to the game. I do have to say that it is more than probable that it will considering the talent they have behind it." Back when it was unknown. Well, hindsight is always 20/20 as they say. I just future products will be better.
  23. I am not a computer programmer and have no real interest in modding. The game should be good and challenging without resorting to mods. Why should I do the developers work for them?
  24. I didn't think I had to since this thread is about games.
