  1. RPGCodex doesn't have a passion for CRPGs. They have a passion for Tim Cain.
  2. What can we say, he is a lucky stiff.
  3. Well, I do have to say that Bloodlines, though flawed, is a fairly fun game. I enjoy Bloodlines more than I did the NWN OC that is for sure. My favorite bit was finding the Nosferotu. It was like playing through a dungeon crawl in the modern age. The only major thing I would have like to see is having a full party. The PC and 3 others going into the darkest reaches of Los Angeles would have been great fun.
  4. If it was my kid I would have the same view. When raising children you have to guide them and teach them what is right, what is wrong, what is fiction, and what is real but ultimately you need to teach them to make their own decisions and to teach them to take responsibility for the consequences for those decisions. You can't hold their hand forever nor should you try.
  5. Yeah, but I didn't buy Bloodlines til it was inthe $10 bargin bin, like I said I would when the game was rleased. I have no problems spending $10 on something like that. Also there was only one truly sucky Bioware game and that was NWN which they have improved over time.
  6. But you won't be able to play any of the mods.
  7. As for the 19 year old kid, let him do what he wants. Its his life. You either accept that or you don't need to be around him. Age is irrelevant.
  8. Buy the PC version for the mods. The Restoriation project is in its beta testing!
  9. I think that a lot of people here is overreacting. I know about over reacting, let me tell ya. Its just one man's opinion. Sheesh!
  10. Arcanum and Bloodlines are good games but they are not finely crafted. If it wasn't for ToEE however I would probably gotten Bloodlines on release.
  11. Yeah, and his name was Ronald Reagon.
  12. No. What is idiocy that they place a game company such as Troika on such a pedestal. If they were so great in making games why was Arcanum was so unbalanced that it wasn't even worth playing or that Temple of Elemental Evil was so freaking bug ridden that it was unplayable? Or the fact that All their games were poorly programmed and got next to no support to fix all the problems they have? A game needs to be two things: It needs to be fun and it needs to work. Bioware makes games that are pretty fun and they work. Obsidian has made 1 game that was fun except for the ending and works decently. Obsidian has a long ways to go before they get on Bioware's level. A fun and working game beats a buggy unworking game every time. That is what RPGCodex fails to recognize and why this article is idiotic.
  13. Gothic 2 is one of the worse games I have played. It is crap.
  14. Hmm... Sisters...
  15. Celerity 5 rocks, I hope when they make the Haste Spell they make it like that. BOOM! Also casting slow on the enemy as well with Haste up should have some interesting effects.
  16. Um... okay.
  17. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! (runs and hides)
  18. The Kill Bill wannabe scene in Bloodlines is hilarious with Celerity 4.
  19. More I hear about NWN 2 the more I think to myself that NWN 2 is what NWN 1 should have been.
  20. I define "not a problem" or "without difficulty" in an encounter based on how much of my party resources I use; hit points, potions, magic items, spells memorized, and so forth and so on. If I didn't use all that much resources its an easy encounter. If it took everything I have then it was a difficult encounter. It doesn't matter if you are 1st level of 20th level. In my last play I was doing the whole Paladin/Cleric/Champion of Torm thing and well, the Dracolich wasn't a problem. The demilich and its defenders were.
  21. Now that was ridiculous. With that I made a freaking holy sword that the gods themselves would wet themselves for. Just poor game mastering there.
  22. I agree. Now it is magic item this uber power that, blah blah blah. BORING!
  23. Makes a sort of sense.
  24. I agree, but humans will be humans. That is the nature of man, he needs something to hate.
