  1. Rapid leveling is stupid.
  2. That is why this phrase came into being: Circular temporal physics make me dizzy.
  3. Planescape was the best setting, followed by Ravenloft, then Greyhawk. After greyhawk there is Darksun, Dragonlance, Spelljammer, then we have the two dregs of Forgotten Realms and Eberron.
  4. Then Dungeons and Dragons/d20 System is not for you. Go play a different game then. There needs to be a balance for the game rules mechanics and what is plausible for the story and setting.
  5. FR is the second worse. Eberron is the worse.
  6. The Forgotten Realms is the second worse setting in Dungeons and Dragons, though I do agree that Ravenloft rocks. I am not going to argue over sewer architecture on what should be Realmsian and what is medievel and blah blah blah. Hell, even in the Realms sewer architecture is different from region to region. I don't think the cities of Thay would use the same style as the city of Waterdeep, you know. So instead of having a basic generic sewer tileset that can work in any medival campaign, FR or not, lets have FR specific ones for each region/nation in Faerun. Yeah, thats a good idea.
  7. Yes, but this is also a DnD product and there are more to DnD than just the Realms.
  8. No doubt. Also the critters inthe sewers scared the living crap out of me. I saw this big lumbering critter thinking it will be an eas ykill because it was so slow then a green glob of whatever that was flew at me. I went WTF and ran away. Thank god for the .50 cal gun. Of course my vamp with celerity did better against it. At celerity 5 I went all Neo on his arse.
  9. That part of the game was my favorite. It was like Durlag's Tower but in modern times.
  10. You simply do not understand proper game mastering, do you, haitoku? It is attitudes like that is why we are getting "epic" levels in a Star Wars d20 game when there are no such thing as "epic levels" in the Star Wars rules set. Leveling fast kills the enjoyment of the game for me, plain and simple. It kills the immersion, the plausibility of the events that are unfolding. It took Elminster 500 years to go from level 1 to level 33rd (or what level he is currently at) so does it make any sort of sense that it would take a character from level 1 to level 20 in the span of a few in game weeks? No, it does not.
  11. It was finished according to Lucas Arts so complain to them. They published it and it was their call.
  12. The are good for modern sewers but this is Dungeosn and Dragons. They need to look medieval.
  13. If I am then I am. What is the big deal of it? It all comes to proper game mastering and in this case Obsidian is the game master. A game master that lets his or her players make abuses is a very poor game master. As a player, you will always want more, but the game master needs to place proper restrictions so that the game retains balance and fun. Being a god in such a short time might be fun for the short term, but ultimately unrewarding because you did not earn it. If I am to take a character from level 1 to level 20 I want to earn it. A good CRPG is fun to play. A great CRPG is rewarding to play.
  14. How do you know they haven't used it already? You existing might be the result of them meddling in the past.
  15. Of course but that is what the tool set is for. For the OC, being 6th to 7th level is perfectly reasonable for a 30 hour game. Getting to 20th level should take a life time for an adventurer.
  16. Well, if they do sewers later on I hope they do it like the DLA sewers and not the baseline sewers like Bioware. The DLA sewers are much better and look like actual sewers.
  17. If people thinking that I am fretting about the length of the game then they are mistaken. I am not worry about game length. I am worried about the power of the character at the end of the game. 20th level in Dungeons and Dragons, hell in d20 System in general, is close to becoming a god in the game mechanics. It a short 30 to 40 hour campaign one should not be on par with demigods. Now if we are getting a 30 to 40 hour game in which we reach 6th to 7th level, 8th at the most then game length is just fine. By having our characters being at mid level like that would allow Obsidian to let us use them in the expansions. First expansion would take characters 7th to 14th while the second expansion would be 13th to 20th. Let a third expansion be solely about epic levels so that Obsidian can concentrate on making a dedicated and balanced epic level adventure.
  18. TIME TRAVEL IS POSSIBLE! ! second at a time...
  19. I have no doubt that I will play this game multiple times but there is no way that it is even close to being plausible that a first level zero will become a 20th level near god in just 30 hours of game play. That is just the ultimate in stupidity. And the leveling progression in KotOR 2 was very stupid and reeked of poor design.
  20. The community is just a bunch of amateurs, and while some of thier stuff is good 90% of it is crap. I rather put my trust in professionals.
  21. Only 30 freaking ours?!?!?! Well, my character better not be more than 6th to 7th level by the end of it that is for sure.
  22. Volourn, he said "in their right mind." We all know that adventurers are not right in the mind. That is why they are adventurers. No sewers is a real bummber. I mean in every campaign that I run, may it be Dungeons and Dragons to Cyberpunk 2020 a sewer run is involved. Its not a proper adventure campaign without going into the sewers. The overland map editor is pretty darn cool. I expect Sewers tileset to be in the first Live update or at the latest in the first expansion.
  23. Last I heard it was June but release dates are always tenuous things.
  24. It couldn't be any less.
