For the most part I only kill player characters due to combat where running away is an option, they do something stupid like put on a necklace of strangulation without properly identifying it, go into a house mimic then waking it up, or follow a kobold named Killit Kwik or a goblin named Squashie Menow. Most of what happens to the player characters, good or ill, is really up to the players. I don't plan out much in my camapigns except for a few key individuals and general themes of which I am using. Beyond that the PCs are free to do whatever they want and if that gets them in trouble that is where the fun begins. If a bunch of 1st level characters want to go to the dragon's lair who am I to say no.

Ah, but I did solo NWN. I'm pretty sure most people came pretty close as well. The funny thing is, when I played the game with my roommate, we finished the game around level 15 instead. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am talking about NWN 2 not NWN 1 here. When I played NWN 1 I was 20th level at the beginning of chapter 4.

If you soloed BG1 yeah, it is easy to reach the cap and if you solo NWN 2 OC then you should reach higher levels than if you had a party. I am not saying to cap the game at 8th level. They should cap the game at 20th, but design the Official Campaign that if you are going to have a full party then you should end the OC somewhere between 6th to 8th level.

A person should be in their relative position in the workforce based on their competence level, not by some artificial and arbitrary government ruling. Now I know there are some equality issues that need to be worked out but this is not the way to do it.

I liked IWD 2. It was a good challenge, though game length isn't the issue for me. It is the leveling. Will it be free levels for everyone like NWN 1 and both KotORs were or are we oing to have a proper level pacing?

Time naturally flows forward. It is how the particles and molecules that make up everything work. There are theoretical particles that go faster than light called tachyons. Tachyons are particles that exist outside the normal space/time continuum, theoretically speaking. Now since we have pasitrons, negarons, and the such it should stand to reason that there would be anti-tachyons. Particles that act as tachyons but in reverse order. Harnessing the power and use of tachyons and antitachyons would, could allow time travel, theoretically speaking. I just think we should have functioning hyperdrive before we worry about traveling through time.

I guess I am the only one here that knows good and bad DMing when he sees it. Fine, be the ubermunchkins oiwer lamers if you want. Its what sels by the looks of NWN 1 and the KotORs.

Did I say that I wanted the NWN 2 as a whole be limited to 8th level, no. I just wanted the OC to be maxed out at 8th level. I just don't want to see epic levels in the game period, but it will be put in there eventually I am sure. Oh Kirottu, these people don't want to earn their experience and levels. That should be obvious.

Oh, Just not leveling up your character is not an option. That is metagaming and I do not metagame. If I have to metagame to correct the problems I see then the game is of poor design. Metagaming is bad, m'kay. I rather see this first part bring the party no higher than 8th, first expansion be in the low tends, second expansion, high teens, with a third optional expansion focusing only on epic matieral.

If they want to "show off" then let them make a tech demo of the game and the various abilities which the character can gain. I am here to game, not to be showed.
