Since Mass Effect is going to be playable and Dragon Age is no where to be seen, and given that Dragon Age is the game they announced first, it seems Bioware is in fact neglecting the PC single player audience in favor tot he console junkies. Not one bit surprised by that either. What Bioware says and what they do tend to be very different things. When the X Box 360 gets under $100 I will more than likely get Mass Effect.

Indeed. Bioware seems to be getting stagnant on the PC side of things.

They should have more material on Dragon Age for godsakes. They announced it ages ago and well have showed nothing of substance since.

More Oblivion!

My favorite bit is when an enemy jumps at you and you can blast him in midair and he his blasted backwards then smashing into the earth.

If they do it like NWN/KotOR but with smarter AIs then it should be fine but if they use the old FO 1/2 way I don't think that modern gamers would accept that.

I'm trying to keep an open mind, dammit.

ToEE style of Turn base would be good if we can control the whole party but if it is still just the player controlling the PC I think that NWN/KotOR Turn Base style would be satisfactory enough for me.

No, the prime criteria for a fantasy is magic and how involved it is in the central theme of the setting and story. Such as would you consider Harry Potter fantasy even though it doesn't take place in a medieval fairytale world? It takes place in quite modern world. The same thing with the Shadowrun setting. Sure it has all the techno doodads but magic is what shapes the setting therefore fantasy. The problem with that is the high tech gear is irrelevant to the primary themes of the story and setting. In Star Wars its all about the Force, all about the magic. Its about the Black and White view of good and evil, which is very much prevelant in fantasy literature, regardless of tech level.

If they gave us a party and a form of turn base combat using this engine should be very interesting in Fallout 3.

What makes a story fantasy is not the miscellaneous drivel such as elves and dragons, but its central use of magic. The Force is the magic of Star Wars. If you take away the magic and not the technology the story of Star Wars would not function but if you take away the technology and placed in in a medieval setting the overall story and themes would remain unchanged.

Falling 50 feet out of a tree on hard earth, being sideswiped by a MACK construction truck while on a 10 speed bicycle, going 50 miles an hour head on towards a semi on a frozen highway, blah blah blah. I thought it was funny that the guard scolded me for trying to loot the emperor's corpse. I think there needs to be decapitations in this game ebcause I think it would be funny seeing a head roll down a set of stairs where his/her buddies were discussing how much they hate the dead bugger's smelly boots.
