  1. The reality of Deadfire: The Naga smell like elderberries Slow spells take 27 seconds to cast. Monsters give no XP, quests only give enough to level to half of the level cap After resting 11 times the games music changes to Aint no rest for the wicked by Cage the Elephant on a constant loop Eder is now gay. Loot boxes every where Every load screen takes 8 minutes to load. You will be forced to make a Dwarf character at some point in time. Might, Resolve, Strength, Vigor, Brawn Moxie, and a certain je ne sais quoi will be added as Attributes
  2. I dislike the change immensely. Feels like someone hates people casting spells more then a few times per fight and created a system just to stop spell spam. Many trash fights can be over before a 6 second spell can cast. Right now if this system is in the game when its released, I will go from having 4 spell casters in my party like I did in Pillars to having at most one.
  3. The reason I do not have fancy badges under my name is because I played Pillars on the PS4. I think its a wonderful idea to let as many people as possible have access to a game to build a base of fans. I will probably play Deadfire on the PC for the modding potential and the earlier release date. So putting Pillars on console has created one more PC master race individual.
  4. No, please Boeroer! Every time you come up with some odd combination or focus on one weapon type the very next patch removes or nerfs it. Put out like a secret newsletter with your builds. Do we want another cipher retaliation focus nerf?
  5. I never upscale anything because their is no rewards to do so, except the "challenge" which does not move me. They should have up scaling for all or none because this would be the easy way to handle it, but they really need to include some form of benefit for selecting upscale. Not xp though that just shortens the progression path, money, items, or an upscale perk would be best.
  6. Restrictive inventory and stockpiling ammo for ranged weapons not only sounds dull, but also a shadow nerf to any one want to play as a ranger specifically or a ranged character in general. I do like the idea of being able to craft or buy specialized arrows that do more damage or different damage than piercing. As for classic games and mechanics and I know its way to late for the game but for a DLC, the game arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura blended old time technology amazingly well and it reminds me of the Glanfathian technology. Maybe some sort of DLC in which you could get deeper into the old time technology, would come in handy with metaphysics.
  7. Cipher is very unique no doubt, and I mostly make a ranger type class in every RPG, but I never thought it is an interesting or unique one. Beyond the big three (fighter, rogue, mage) I find the ranger to be the most generic. Why do you consider it interesting, I wonder? For me the Ranger is mostly convenient, because he has the ranged option, is usually a capable melee combatant, has access to medium armour and mostly a companion that makes the start easier. Ciphers are a really unique class, remind me of the Mesmer class in Guild Wars, not in mechanics, but because it is something new. Chanters are a challenge as well and Druids offer some interesting mechanics with the caster/combatant/shapeshifter layout. Its the only pet class in the game. It also has far more and better ranged abilities like powder burns, twinned arrows and driving flight. You can give a rogue a bow, or a gun to a chanter but they cant make them shoot twice or spit fire.
  8. I would buy either a digital or a paper strategy guide if it would focus on mechanics like combat, skills, abilities, and those things and less on a walk through. It would be nice to read about Deadfire even when I could not play Deadfire.
  9. I like to play mechanically interesting and unique characters. I dont like to play fire and forget auto attack characters on my main, thats for adventurers or companions. I want my main character to be the most interesting class possible. Ciphers, Rangers, and the like.
