I dont get it.... Why are you guys against reviews warning people about the bugs? Like, if I wasnt lazy I would have given them a bad review too. I don't play games for the combat system, but for the RPG element, so the import bug is a deal breaker for me (I got far enough to hear about Eder joining a cult and immediately rage quit... so like 5 mins into the game). Just cuz you care so little about the story that you can ignore/not notice glaring background inconsistencies and bugged character interactions doesnt mean the game isnt unplayable for those of us who care about that. If I hadnt already backed this game I would have really appreciated the negative reviews. Then I would have known to wait a few months before buying so that they had time to fix the bugs. Instead, I got all hyped and am now sitting here stewing cuz the game I paid for a year ago is unplayable.

Does anyone know when the patch will release? Will it be at 10am again, or is it unknown? I just want to play already ;_;

Their dense concentration in one place is what's jarring. It's a very tired argument in all recent BW games - why are there so many bi & gay people in your party? You can try arguing that it's a fantasy game, but actually it's not normal for any fantasy world, just for player party, it seems . Because recent BW games resemble pandering date sims wrapped in fantasy settings more than anything else. Like you do realize your PCs party is made of exceptions to the rule right? So all these rare people on the boat is fine...til they're sexualities aren't straight. *Then* its an issue? Also judging from the brothels it doesn't look like there's any stigmatizing of sexuality so why wouldn't people be more open about it in the Deadfire? Godlikes, priestesses and all the other unique stuff of that world doesn't bother me as much because it is truly fantastical, without any parallels in the real world, so it is easy to suspend my disbelief about that. Everybody being LGBT around meis not, because in the real world it is not and I can't help by make parallels when I play. That's why it breaks the suspension of disbelief. Also, brothel is a poor example because it's a brothel - a place where people satiate any kinds of sexual desires for money. It doesn't mean hosts there are LGBT, it's just their job. But whatever, as I've said before, it's a very tired argument with no resolution. If you're ok with all that then good for you, I'm certainly not gonna judge your preferences. I hate to break it to you honey, but in real life most LGBT ppl do hang out with other LGBT people. Most of my social circle, for instance, is not straight. I'm sorry that you think 4 bisexuals in a group is more unbelievable than dragons or fireballs. That sounds more like a you problem then an issue with the game. As for "pandering" I gotta roll my eyes. The same ppl who cry about everyone being bi are the same people who didnt care that BG2 was pandering to straight dudes when they had 3 options for males and 1 option for women (and no options for gays). When was the outrage then? I'm glad Obsidian decided to make everyone bi. To me it always makes sense, cuz then it gives the PLAYER more options.

Yeah, I really liked the first one! At first I was gonna say "no" to Berath, but then I realized that would automatically end game. So I reluctantly agreed. Which made the whole thing feel more real than if the game had just talked in circles until you had no choice but to say yes. Really well done.

I like Viconia's romance. Also, what about Jaheira's complex one? Oh god Jaheria. I blocked that from my mind because just no to her immediately hitting on my character before her husband's body was cold. Nope. Well, to each his own, I guess Still, the way they were written is still far superior and far less cringy than most of the more recent BW games romances. Since I only play female chars I cant speak to how "well written" the rest of the romances were, but Amoen was pretty bad. I'd rather take the DA(1&2) and ME romances over BG2's giant middle finger to women any day. As for POE2, does anyone know what triggers Eder/Iselmyr? Does it happen every time (if she was not suppressed)? Am I gonna have to bench Aloth to avoid the huge cringe factor of Eder rejecting my Watcher just to turn around and have creepy and questionable relations with the ghost that occasionally takes over Aloths body?? (I still cant believe that's an actual thing the devs included... such a **** move)

I saw on reddit that they already had the solution to the import bug, so its super frustrating that they are making us wait a whole week before fixing the issue. When he said hotfix I was hoping it meant they would fix it quickly, and not make us wait for the patch.

Well, on tumblr Sawyer did say that some characters have no "current interest" (italics are his) so hopefully, that means Eder could be a romance in the dlc or future games. Maybe the "nuance" comes from not romancing other chars if he refuses you at this time. I really, really hope thats the case. They know he was the most anticipated romance, so having him deny the Watcher and potentially hook up with Iselmyr (which is creepy??) is such a **** move. If they were gonna be so bitter about the romance thing why even have it as a stretch goal?

Ya know, when I donated to the kickstarter to help reach the relationship tier, it never occurred to me that they would choose not to make Eder or Pallegina a romance option. It just seemed to make more sense that you would get to build up from your relationship in the first game. I guess they never made any promises but its still a jerk move. I guess since my first two picks are out that leaves Maia. She better be awesome or my Watcher is gonna die a single cat lady. I saw on another thread that Maia is bi with a preference for women, and Xoti is bi with a preference for men. So they can be romanced by either gender.

What would be the point of fixing it halfway through a game? It wouldn't change the conversations you already had with him, and it wouldn't change the interactions he had with other NPC/Companions.

Well, I was planning to start playing right away.... Unfortunately, I got like 15 mins into the game and realized Eders background was bugged. I was gonna keep plugging along anyway till I realized that there is no point since I will have to restart the game once they patch it. Its so frustrating.

I just came here to see if anyone else had this issue. Kinda annoying since it means I'll have to start a new game once they patch the problem :/
