Jagged Alliance Flashback on kickstarter

Well, we're in the beginning of the crowd-funding revolution. These are the first steps. People are more cautious and prefer to spend money on things they feel more certain about. I think that once we're used to the idea of crowd-funding, more adventurous projects will be funded. Trust currently is a huge barrier. This project intrigues me (I never got in to the old JA games even though I probably would love them if I did), but I don't have enough trust in this developer to pledge just yet. I hope they get funded so I can buy the game once it's out and they've got positive reviews by people I trust more. -
That dungeon was sweet. I actually never ebat the end fight. I was playing on hardest difficulty and hadn't really geared my party properly (wasn't quite ready for the end). Couldn't beat it. And I've lost my save file so I'd have to replay the whole thing over again, and I'm kinda tired of the NWN2 engine by now. But I always though SoZ was very underappreciated, it was a nice expansion (though of course pales in comparison to MotB).

You, sir, have excellent taste in games. I support this notion 100%.

I think the main difficulty in getting any sort of Obsidian guild going is that there aren't many of us playing, and those that do are likely already in other guilds as myself.
-
those prices were on Red Eclipse

Like I said, I know there are account versions of the artifact unlock on the GTN, I'm looking at the listing right now and the cheapest sells for 1.5 million credits
-
Have they removed the account unlock then? Because I know those are still being sold on the GTN for fairly absurd prices. But they could just be leftovers from earlier. But I will add that getting equipment unlocks is a bit of a waste unless you're going to take part in end game content. And if you can put artifact mods in orange gear and be able to equip that w/o the unlock, it's even more so.
-
Artifact equipment is account or character as well I think.

Yeah, the scavenging hunt was very tedious, but the derelict spaceship was fantastic. Finding the parts was fine when the quest came out, since everyone was doing it. But once the original surge died down, it's become very boring I can imagine.

So how do I go about if I want fewer encounters with Bellegar? Start a slandering campaign against Larian? I really find that character cringe worthy. (kidding about the slander campaign)

Some guilds seem to like having big numbers. When leveling alts (especially on the republic side on my server) if I left them unguilded, they'd get guild invites from a couple of guilds (one in particular) constantly.

Yeah, that was the phrase that caught my eye in that press release.
-
because the way the disney press release sounds it's more likely they'll be licensing out their brand to other buplishers rather than actually funcing any development themselves.
-
Disney owns marvel, so they'd have some say anyhow. But yes, according to imdb all three were made by paramount and marvel. And only the avengers was distributed by Disney.
-
Oh, I agree there. Scoundrel and Operative dps is very clunky. And in end games has been slightly to weak, especially considering their positional requirements. Things will be better in the expansion, at least where damage numbers are concerned. Not sure about the clunkiness, think that's still there to a degree.
-
Humanoid, Operative and Scoundrel are not ranged classes in any stretch of the imagination. They're stealth melee classes. They have a couple of abilities with 30m range that they share with Snipers, but 90% of their attacks will have a range of 10 meters or less. For lethality (or dirty fighting) spec I suppose you have a few more attacks at range, but your main attacks are still 10 or 4 meters, which is melee. As for sniper's being cover based, I don't know. It's true that they have to utilize cover to fire off their main attacks, but cover is just crouching since they have mobile cover. In other words, it's a mechanic designed to make them a more stationary class, not a way to mimic cover based shooting from other games.

My ranking on story would be Imperial Agent Jedi Knight (for it's epicness alone) Bounty Hunter = Smuggler = Trooper (but I hear it's worse if you have actual military knowledge or experience) Sith Warrior Sith Inquisitor (there's a story twist that makes this one a bit fun, would rank below sage otherwise) Jedi Consular Imperial Agent and Jedi Knight I was really engaged in, and JK starts slowly, but gets more fun after chapter 1. The second tier (Smuggler, BH, Trooper) were ok, but nothing special. The other three I found to be pretty bad, and Consular was super boring (I did play that one last though, so I could have been a little worn, but I played JK second to last and liked that one fine).

I usually clear out versions from the same year. So in the case of the image above, I'd have removed so I only have one 2008 redistributable, but kept both 2005 and 2010 (and x64 versions of each when applicable).

Somehow I got confused and thought that by Awakening he was talking about Arrival, the ME2 dlc... I didn't think there was anything in particular wrong with the expansion, I thought it was pretty good even with interesting concepts and all.
-
Divinity 2 was great fun. Not fantastic mechanics by any means, but fun and with the spirit in the right place. Didn't play the first one though.
-
i thought they were just gonna let this one die quietly somewhere You mean, you wished. I thought the game actually sounded interesting in it's own right, so this was probably a good move.
-
Put in 25 for now, might go up to 40 if I can convince my wife that turn based is something that looks appealing. Would have bought it on release anyway, so why not.
-
I remember getting a tutorial text on that somewhere, but can't remember what it siad other than subdue when it goes out of control. Think it's related to the troops in your army (as in, a demonic weapon won't like it if you're running around with a bunch of elves).

Endgame in this game (and I assume in a lot of MMO's) is entirely dependant on the people you run it with. I'm in a guild with a great group of people, and running operations is easily the most fun part of the game. But then I also don't hate the gameplay and find the stories to be vastly overrated, so tehre's that. Don't get me wrong, a couple of the class stories are good, but most are average and some are truly awful. But if the gameplay wasn't fun and the social aspect wasn't there, I'd have stopped playing long ago
