  1. Not sure yet. Most likely early next week. Monday or Tuesday.
  2. Well, my first answer to the otter question was a little different. It was a sarcastic reply about an Easter egg, but I didn't want someone to screw their game up with what I was going to say. =p
  3. It does not take add-ons into account. There is no easy way for us to map those keys. If you have add-ons you will have to download them from the Backer Portal.
  4. Yeah, but it is more for ease of use than anything else. This will allow people to download the backer rewards from Steam or GOG if they want to. Although, all of the promised rewards can still be downloaded from the Backer Portal too.
  5. Hey, folks. There had been some conversation and questions about whether the backers were going to be able to download the Hero, Champion, or Royal tiers on Steam and GOG. We are currently setting things up in a way that backers will be able to get special versions of those tiers. Since not every tier maps exactly to one of those special editions, it might be a little off. Don't worry, though. If the special edition your tier is mapped to does not come with one of your rewards you can still download it on the Backer Portal as normal. You will always be able to download all of your rewards on the Backer Portal. Just repeating myself so it is clear, if you have backed a reward you will be able to download it from the Backer Portal once we release the reward. Here is the current breakdown of tiers and what SKU they map to on Steam/GOG: Product Name - Pledge - SKU Mapping Show of Support - $5.00 - N/A Early Backer: Just the Game - $20.00 - Hero Edition Digital: Just the Game! - $25.00 - Hero Edition Slacker Backer - $29.00 - Hero Edition Digital Pack: Soundtrack, Collector Book, Behind the Scenes - $35.00 - Hero Edition Digital Fun Pack - $50.00 - Champion Edition Retail Pack - $65.00 - Champion Edition Digital Pack + Strategy Guide + Extra Download - $80.00 - Royal Edition Retail Pack with T-Shirt - $100.00 - Royal Edition Digital Collector's Edition - $110.00 - Royal Edition Retail Collector's Edition - $140.00 - Royal Edition Digital Collector's Edition w/Wasteland 2 + Expansion - $165.00 - Royal Edition Signed Retail Collector's Edition - $250.00 - Royal Edition AMD Loot Bag (US ONLY) - $350.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Obsidian Pack - $500.00 - Royal Edition Custom Troll Portrait from Chris Avellone! - $750.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + NPC Design - $1,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Epic Item Design - $1,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Custom Portrait - $3,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Adventure Company Design - $5,000.00 - Royal Edition Complete Kickstarter Pack + Inn/Tavern Design - $5,000.00 - Royal Edition Ultimate Kickstarter Watcher Pledge Pack - $10,000.00 - Royal Edition
  6. Sorry that you don't like the chanter. It is one of my favorite classes. I feel that they are the closest analog to bards in terms of roleplaying. They are also pretty good at supporting the party around them with their chants. There are no sub-classes in Pillars and no plans for any at this time.
  7. It is possible. There is a fix I would like to get them this morning, but we need to do some testing before I can push it live to them. As for the wider array of fixes we have been making since we locked the reviewer build... maybe or maybe not. We will probably be more focused on locking down the day one patch the rest of this week, but once we do so, we could update their builds with the changes.
  8. Cool, glad to know that we'll get our keys before release day. Can you tell us if backers will get keys appropriate to their pledge tiers? We are giving people Steam editions that we have matched to their tiers. On Monday I will make a post showing the different mappings. Also, everyone will be able to download their rewards from our backer portal, as well. Hey Badler, Monday is over its Tuesday now and I can not find your post showing the different mappings. And I am still not able to download my rewards from the backer portal. How long does it take until we see your new post that should be on Monday already? ) Sorry about that. I completely forgot to post it. I will post it when I get to work today because I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me.
  9. I sent out a review build to Paradox last night. Reviewers should be getting a chance to play the build starting today.
  10. I agree with Sensuki. Could you consider this for the expansion? Shadows Heretic Kingdoms is considering it for Ogre3D, I'm actually also helping To be honest, I can't imagine doing this for the expansion. It would be a very large amount of work to do this and we would need to pour a bunch of resources back into the base game to make everything play nicely. I guess anything is possible, but there are many other things we would rather spend programming time on for the expansion. I could see this for a sequel (if we do one).
  11. Hmm, if you're going to add a slider for adjusting the range of area loot, would you consider setting the upper end of the slider to 30 meters? That way the no-area-loot petitioners can pass on the area loot, and a player like myself would only have to click one body in the combat area to sort all the loot. I confess, I do like myself some streamlining. I don't think this is something that we will do in the options.
  12. Do I know it right that if an enemy dies, its corpse has a sparkling, shining(or somekind) effect on it? Will that effect disappear, if I open the loot window for that corpse? Because that way I could see which corpses were looted in the 3m wide area loot, and which ones should I check again? If a corpse no longer has loot on it, it will not have sparkles. Just like previously, you cannot interact with a corpse that has no loot on it.
  13. Chants are composed of phrases that each have their own effect while that phrase is active. There is a phrase counter that is incremented at the start of each new phrase. Chanters also have invocations. These invocations can be cast once the phrase counter hits a specific number (this depends on the invocation). Once an invocation is cast, the phrase counter zeroes out.
  14. I was a big proponent of group looting. In fact, I am the one who moved that suggestion to the top of the bug queue. I have been using it for a few builds now and, to me, it feels much better. How it works is that when you click on a corpse it pools loots from any corpse within three meters. The UI has not changed. There is no indicator of which piece of loot came from which corpse, but I haven't seen it as much of an issue while playing the game this weekend. There is still lots of looting (because not everything dies within three meters of everything else), but it definitely cuts down on some of the repetition. I understand that some may not like this new feature, but I would ask that you give it a chance. I am not sure what kind of options we will add for it, but there was talk of an loot distance slider that could go from 0m - 3m. If you want individual loot back, you could just turn it to 0m. That isn't currently in, but it is probably something we could add into a day one patch.
  15. Anyone who purchased a physical game will be given a digital key on our Backer Portal.
  16. Just to be clear, this is not true. All of the goods are currently in transit. If we were putting a physical disc inside of the boxes, we wouldn't have been able to truly start the shipping process (from the warehouses) until March 26th. This would have added many additional weeks of shipping time to backers, particularly the European backers. Because we started shipping the goods earlier than the launch day, you will receive the goods a week or two after launch instead of a month or two after launch.
  17. When you redeem your key in a couple of weeks you will be able to choose a platform (GOG or Steam) then.
  18. We haven't talked about an exact cutoff, but for digital goods we could theoretically sell them to backers forever. I will have to ask Darren about it. Sounds like a good idea to me I know we are going to be putting together an Obsidian Store soon. This will be a place where folks can purchase Obsidian products. Not sure of the timeline on it, but it is something we are discussing.
  19. The goods would have to be shipped today (or earlier) for a lot of people around the world for them to receive the boxed goods by the 26th. It's why I voted for option 2 because I know I wouldn't be receiving the box by the 26th. And also to receive the box with no dvd after the game is released and then the dvd even longer is not something I was looking forward too. If I'm going to have to wait, I'd much rather wait for the complete item with dvd and sealed for my collectors edition. Not a sealed collectors edition with no dvd and for the dvd to turn up later. But then I suppose there's a lot of naivety from people who voted in the poll. On tops, i think it's quite unfair to let people of various pledge levels vote on the same thing. It's not a huge deal to get a regular physical game pack without DVD if you can get a digital code at release. But a $500 signed collector's edition is a completely different league. People really buy that because they want to COLLECT it. Part of collecting is having an unbroken, unsealed box. A box that won't contain a game DVD now. That way Obsidian really gave a big **** you to their biggest fans, to those who really paid a lot during the kickstarter. Sure, we're just a few, who cares about us. It's a majority poll so let's listen to all those $60 DVD box customers (or just anyone on the forum no matter which box they've pledged for or whether they've pledged for anthing at all...) how they decide how much the collector's edition will be worth in the end... And now we don't even get the boxes on time. That's so ****ed up, I'm really kind of speechless. Huge disappointment for me and probably for most other high tier backers, additionally here in Europe... There was always going to be a shipping lag for Europe. The decision to ship the goods sans disc was made to make sure that the lag wasn't extended by a few additional weeks. The realities of shipping into Europe are that things take quite a bit longer to get where they are going and the packages have to go through more taxes and red tape. Hopefully, having Paradox ship from inside of Europe will reduce some of this time/cost, but there wasn't a lot we could do to get it to folks faster. If we have lost your trust in this matter, I apologize, but we are doing everything we can to get European backers their items as fast as possible. Unfortunately, we are kind of at the mercy of shipping speeds at this point.

  21. It is shipping from the U.S. to Paradox facilities in Europe. From there they will get shipped out to European folks.
  22. I haven't tried them, so I don't know if they are tasty. I would never doubt Tim, though.
  23. We haven't talked about an exact cutoff, but for digital goods we could theoretically sell them to backers forever. I will have to ask Darren about it.
  24. I wish I had Your sh00p skillz. Edit: Can we get a HR version for wallpaper? I made you a personalized wallpaper. http://imgur.com/Pl48uwj
  25. It is looking like everything will be shipped pretty close to release day for folks in the U.S.. International deliveries may be a couple of weeks after release, unfortunately. Once we receive confirmation of delivery from Paradox we will let you guys know. Will there be package tracking? I will have to ask Paradox about that one. I am not sure.
