And your point being? You have hand drawn 2D portraits which my character in game will never look like and 3D portraits that have an accurate look of the character. Hmmm... I know which one I prefer.

Volourn, I am just saying that we should have a chance in failing quests. The designers need to expand the horizons just a bit and allow for such things. It would be a nice change of pace.

? As if it's any faster with the new D&D 3.5 rules, with all the feats and skills and multiclassing and whatnot. Once you know the Rolemaster-system, you can easily create a character in 15 min. And if you died in 10 seconds, well.. I'm tempted to ask what kind of DM you had. :D Is it any harder to kill a first level mage in D&D with 10 hps? Well, there were those Helmites. They could have made the "cure" which would strengthen Desther's hold and diminish Aribeth, which later in the story when Luskan is attacking NWN the plague hits almost on cue to kill all those of Neverwinter who took the Helmite "cure" almost instantly, weakening the city immensely if not completely wipe out the entire population.

You should find the worse of the worse PS1 game as a gag gift, maybe X Com (great PC Game, but the PS1 version was horridly bugged). He would be all excited about his PS3 and knows you got him a game for it then BOOM! A pitiful PS1 game to play. HA!

The problem being is that with each quest there is no chance of failure except for the trial quest. There should always be an option for failing a quest. Imagine if we failed to retrieve any of the components of the cure. I think that could have been an interesting story venue which Bioware would not go down. If there is no chance for failure what is the point of succeeding?

I have played and paid for many MMORPGs: Anarchy Online Ultima Online Star Wars Galaxies Dungeons and Dragons Online and a few others... None of them were worth the monthly fee because none of them had what I look for in a RPG. So I guess the answer is yes to both.

I hate MMORPGs. Only MMORPG I would play is if it had no monthly fee, like Guild Wars.

Rolemaster sucks. 10 hours to make a character. 10 seconds to kill it. Never touching that system ever again.

BG2 didn't have "skills" in that regard. Also NWN OC didn't have multiple ways to solve quests. It was kill kill kill.

FF12 and JE are console games and I am not taking them in consideration since we are discussing PC games. I have to disagree about Arcanum. It was an good game but it just wasn't all that great. Better than most games but overall it is the low end of the good stuff. NWN1 was horrid. KotOR 1 and BL are fine games but I like NWN2 better. Oh, I love Neeshka. NEESHKA ROCKS!

I agree NWN2 has some major faults but it is best CRPG since BG2.

In terms of role playing in the OC in single player mode, yes.

This isn't one of those times. NWN's OC was a step backwards from BG2.
