Yeah I watch HD-DVDs in 1080i let me tell you the clarity is insane. But you need a bigger screen preferably 42"+, something like 30" and it will be hard to tell the difference from standard DVDs. Standard DVDs look like crap on my 58" compared to HD-DVD
