I agree with tale. Take Rainbow Six Vegas, it is no where near the graphic quality of Gears of War or UT3, but it is using the same unreal 3 engine. Getting the most out of that engine takes some knowledge and talent and money.

Making engines can be long ass, such as Source Engine that took 5 years.

Which title (must be out now) do you think has the best grafx? You can also mention older games (example: best for it's time, or games that really impressed you when you first played it) For PC I have to say it's Oblivion (some might disagree) For console I pick Gears of War

Those games will utilize 4 cores. Core 2 Quads are recommended for optimum settings in those games.
