I think its funny that people debate points like "why hasn't the technology changed in 4000 years", and yet nobody seems to care that there are swords with light coming out of them or that mofos can lift spaceships or choke someone with their mind. Its star wars guys. Just enjoy it. And the REAL reason KOTOR's 4000 year old technology is relatively the same as the OT's is because if the devs made it look like 4000 years in the past, it would look soooo dissimalar from what we expect stars wars to be that MORE people would be upset than the few that are complaining about the prior. In short... they wanted to sell games, not make something historically accurate. Might as well start debating how galactic basic sounds a lot like earth's english. Explain that whiz kids.

Well... if i haven't played the game, then logic would dictate either I read it somewhere or someone told me that. Since it isn't true, most likely it wasn't literature that gave me that idea. SOOOOOOOOOO I MUST HAVE BEEN misinformed (or misunderstood) by someone who told me it was in the FF games. What previous game(s) this feature was in wasn't the point anyway.

Please make the hair looking more realistic
aggiekevin replied to will_990's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
free flowing hair is simply a graphical upgrade, as is the free flowing robes. I am sure in the time alotted they are trying to upgrade the graphics as much as possible (as they already have stated they are doing). However other improvements are far more crutial than this one. I do think it would be extremely cool to see... and I am sure we will see it in time... if not in this one than in future games. But OE must take care of more important things before they focus on minor detail such as this. However, if they can, I am sure they will take care of this, as I am also sure it is something they at some point have already considered. -
maybe i'm the weird one here... but i didn't find swoop bikes all that stimulating in the first game. It was cool on Taris b/c it added to the story line... but somehow implementing a swoop bike circuit in this game, for me, would be kinda boring. Instead, it would seem just like something to do for those who want to fully explore the entire game. It would be different for me if we were racing other npcs at the same time (alla episode I), but going over a straight track trying to dodge objects while aiming for speed boosts quickly looses its replay vaule for me. Thats just MY opinion though... as I am sure most people really liked the swoop bikes.

because star wars is a blend of classic european knighthood with futureistic science fiction. Name one instance where you can recall a midieval knight weilding a whip.

Yes. Eeth Koth. http://www.starwars.com/databank/character...koth/index.html

well FYI, i wasn't refering to the sounds coming out of the mouth or their timing. What I was asking is if the mouth movements are going to look as authentic in the follow-up as they did in the original?
-
Intresting. Did not know that. Guess I have to go back through a 6th time and try it out
-
Does anyone know if characters mouth movents when they are talking will be as good (if not better) in this game as they were in the first? I am assuming they will, but I haven't read anything about it at this point.

exactly... any character that you had the option to kill in the first game shouldn't, and most likely won't, be making an appearance in TSL. However... I am willing to bet my ass on the fact that Carth will be returning... simply b/c he runs away on the hidden planet when you are on the dark side. This was done intentionally so that we know he is still alive. Also, b/c we will be visiting his home world in this game, there is just further proof that he'll be back.

Although I've never played them, I understand the Final Fantasy series has an instant replay feature that allows you to go back and watch your battles (or what have you) in real time. I personally paused the game a lot to switch between characters issuing commands, which really broke-up the action. Getting to see the battle played out, especially in a cinematic way, would be really awesome. Despite the fact that this most likely won't be making an apperance in KOTOR II, is it still something you guys would like to see implimented, if possibe?

I think the poll can speak volumes in your place. BTW... one more vote needs to be subtracted from "yes" and placed in "no". See my previous post if you seek explanation.

A good suggestion for the game
aggiekevin replied to Ford_Racer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just so you know, this already has been discussed (but searching through ALL the threads IS an understandable pain). I do agree with ShinIchiro though.... what makes KOTOR such an amazing game is its strong story line. Example: A friend of mine watched me play this game (my 3rd time through) for a good 7 hours one day. He didn't play... just sat there and watched. The story was SO good that it was like watching a Star Wars movie (some might even argue it is even better... in light of the prequals). Most people would get bored doing what he did... but even being a big gamer himself he thuroughly enjoyed just sitting there and helping make dialogue decisions. That is what was so great about it: the story was SO good that it felt like you were watching a movie. Plot twists, romance, rising/falling action, appropriate ammounts of time between key sequences. If you opened the game up to endless amounts of exploration without any purpose, you destroy the key appeal of the game. The movie-esq quality of the game would be non existant. Another great aspect of the first game was how the events from earlier in the game affected the dialogue of characters you later came into contact with (i.e. destruction of Taris, winning the swoop bike race). There is no way OE w/ their time frame could really adjust people in the game's reactions to you saving the galaxy/becoming the dark lord. As a result, exploring after the fact would really be a dissapointment. Plus, encountering dark jedi would make no sense if you had already surpassed Malak and taken the title of Sith Lord (for example). Keep in mind also that the planets are not EXTREMELY big... so what good would getting to explore them freely be? I know for me, by the time I reached Malak I had already explored just about every corner of the game (of course, I am a thurough player like that). I think what you are really trying to remedy, through this suggestion (whether you realize it or not), is a way to make the game continue (i.e. not end). All of us who played the first game were the same way. 45 hours simply wasn't enough; we enjoyed it so much that we were sad to see it end. However, I am not even sure 100+ hours would have been enough. My point: the game is just so damn good we don't want it to end. But as ShinIchiro said, all good things must come to an end. The appeal here is the story, plane and simple. Without an end, a good story is destroyed, and thus, there would be no real draw to the game. It would be anti-climatic. As a side note: I really do hope OE does a better job with the ending this time around. Despite its ties to the structure of the movies, a simple ceremony for the ending simply did not fullfill our desire for an ending as big as the game. Epic games need epic endings. I will be extremely disappointed if OE does not learn from Bioware's mistake. -
dude... i just realized that by "saber whip" you guys were refering to an ACTUAL whip (i thought you guys were refering to something similar to a "pistol whip".. where you take the gun and **** slap someone with it). I didn't understand why everyone hated the idea SO MUCH... i mean... i thought it would be kinda cool to see your character smack a dude on the head with his saber. Didn't really think it should go in the game... but thought it would look cool. But in regaurds to a REAL lightsaber WHIP: THAT IS JUST ABOUT THE MOST DAMN RETARDED THING I HAVE EVER HEARD OF. sorry for the caps lock... added it for emphisis.

Actually... OSW... i kind of found nunchukunitzamatu lightsabers both profound and ingenious. They should be placed in this game... or otherwise... I will refuse to buy it. APPLAUSE PotC.... APPLAUSE. -

How about making KOTOR2 work with ATI cards?
aggiekevin replied to CastleBravo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
well I have a ATI 9800 A-I-W Pro.... and when I played the game on my xbox, it never crashed. -
i guess someone forgot to point out to M.F. where he/she/it is standing. P.S. see "pot calling kettle black" for clarification, if needed.

My thoughts: Yoda is freekin yoda. St. Peters Cathedral is freekin St. Peters Cathedral. One is all we need. P.S. Vandar was gay. Zabraks, on the other hand, are cool and should be in the game. Especially since they were widley acknowledged, but never seen, in the first game.

well... as you can read from above... my computer is fast... fast enough to max this game out anyway and still be running programs in the back. But what I want to know is what advantages (OTHER THAN SOUND AND GRAPHICS) the pc has over xbox... or vice versa.
