It makes exploration maeaningless since you will allways see the same maps with random enemies. -

It's absolutley stupid that I can carry 500 food and 500 beer but only 100 medicine.

The game suggest that the watcher you play now is different than the watcher that died in Caed Nua, at least it says so in the narration when you meet yor soul in Eothas.

It reminds me of the discussion around Dragon Age Origins where people wanted to have an option to refuse to become a warden. Here you really have the chance to refuse the game.
