Wot again?!
Much as I try to convince myself that hardware fanboyism is lame, I can't help but wonder how Nvidia manage to get away with far fewer game breaking bugs despite releasing drivers three times less often...
There's something wrong there somewhere...

It's only OGL really... But it does blow though... 4.11 still the best for TSL I think, maybe next driver realease will be better >_>
Still love ati though ^^
~Cuddles his x800xl, which is completely on par with the 6800 GT, but cost 200$ less ^_^~
I bought my 6800GT when they were new and the X800 series were still pretty much unavailable but were I buying now I think I still might. Surprised at the price difference where you are. Here in the UK the X800XL is cheaper, but only by about

The forum colour scheme is just right. Overly bright forums are hard to read. Even the Bioware ones are a bit of a strain...

A PC port of Jade Empire would probably keep the same engine as the Xbox version, just like both platform editions of KOTOR (and KOTOR2) share engine technology.
No, Bioware have something new and cool in the works... "

I've been playing Unreal II again over the last couple of days. Not quite sure why I went back to it. It's flawed in the wrong ways -- it's railroaded and monotonous, and the difficulty settings offer the choice between Trivial, Impossible, and Even More Impossible (I picked Trivial). Even those graphics that looked incredible at launch are now looking a bit dated. One thing that still strikes me, though, is how good the sound is...
Ahem.
Now stopped derailing the thread.

Well, we'll have to see about those... and in a lot of ways, I'd rather see Obsidian announce they're working on a game in their very own setting, so they don't have strange publishers who come along with a library of weird self-contradictory backstory and their own peculiar ideas about what fits with the setting to deal with...
*cough* Only joking... Kinda... "

To Feargus and the team, for deciding to keep the forums up.
Good luck finding a community manager.
So... when's the next big announcement? "

Okay tell me this. How does a game thats damn near unplayable, has about 1000000000000000000000000000000 bugs, and is incomplete, and spits out MONO music win a RPG game of the year award?....Who hands this stuff out?
Aaaagghh! Heresy! Stone him!
Hmm. That was only half-joking... You're another of these individuals who didn't understand it, aren't you?
Ahem.

My "solution" from the other thread.
Hey what if you had KOTORIII blue and KOTORIII red ? That would solve it
On second thoughts you would need.
KOTOR III Red Female
KOTOR III Red Male
KOTOR III Blue Female
KOTOR III Blue Male
Hands up who would buy more than one ?
( I see a Lucas Arts exec looking at the Pokemon sales and rubbing his hands with glee).
Eww!
KOTOR3 should let the player choose, as KOTOR2 does, even if it doesn't impact things all that much in the end. It shouldn't. After all, KOTOR3 will be about the PC of that game just as KOTOR was about Revan and KOTOR2 was about the Exile. If KOTOR3 is closure, it's KOTOR3's PC who will be the architect of that closure, not Revan, no matter who he or she was...

Rhomal set out an area on nwn2news

Not very busy at the moment. But I'll probably nose in there.

What I don't like about the influence system is that you miss out on so many conversations if you don't do things exactly right to please the other party members. I liked how KOTOR I worked where the more experience you have, the more conversations you can unlock with other characters. Just my .02.
It does seem to be the case that in order to find out everything, you have to take everyone along everywhere, so that you get the required influence with them to find out things, and... but there are only two NPC slots when you go out! help
Of course, this could be called "replayability"
It's a little irritating.
On the whole I think the influence system is rather cool. There's definitely more that could be done with the concept in KOTOR3 though.

I'd hate to be the pessimist here, but I think I should point out that "content patch" could mean anything. Sure, it could be what the majority of us want, filling in the plotholes, restoring the HK factory subquest, fixing the ending so that it makes some semblance of sense and is somewhat dramatic, or it could be just a couple of extra lightsaber crystals. The moral of the story: Don't get your hopes up.
They probably wouldn't need permission from LA. Unless everything that goes on requires permission...
They do need explicit permission for anything, because of the setting license.

Careful Gromnir, you post there quite a lot.
I don't count under 500 posts a lot, Exitium. Now, 6000 posts. That is alot.
Show-off.

Ooh, intriguing.
The Exile is the best Sith Lord though.

Sith Warrior for me...

- Bash breaks fragile items. I fail to understand why Bashing a container open breaks things while Explosives don't break anything. I mean it makes sense if you bust the lock open, you may break things inside, but shouldn't explosives have the same kind of consequences.
This is just guess but because you cant blow open a container without the demolitions skill I think its much more deliberate than simply bashing something till it breaks. Although mines are used It may just be a specific part of the mine which is focused on the lock.
Still as you say it's a very nice touch and in some cases the only way to open a container (two I can think of post peragus).
Yup, that's the idea. Though blowing open containers always seemed rather hard compared to, say, blowing open doors in the same areas.

Force power: Force Crush. Superbly animated, really made you feel powerful...
NPC: Kreia. Though Atton and the HKs are close seconds for coolness.

Obsidian are masters RPG story tellers, (BG1 and 2). When it comes to party banter and conversations these guys have few if any equal. SOOOOOO!!!! Why not BG3!!!! If they did this I would be ready to lay down and die a fulfilled happy man
-
Enough with the Star Wars universe already, it was always a bit fragile and KOTOR2 has punched big holes in it
Oh, except I want KOTOR3 so that the story can be resolved.

The ultimate game that doesn't need graphics (discounting text adventures because I've never gotten into one) is Stars!, which is the turn based space strategy game (Master of Orion 2? Pfaugh! ) and has a simple, flat Windows based UI with a few small (though nice) icons representing ships, defenses, etc, and pretty much nothing else
Is Stars! any more balanced these days? The IS flying-orgy strategy just struck me as too powerful.
It's kind of defunct, unfortunately.

I'd never seen the supposed What-a-Basilisk-is-meant-to-look-like until I saw the forum threads moaning about the Basilisk not being "correct" and nor had I ever heard of a Virago (sp? what was it again?) fighter until I looked here.
All I know is when that hangar door opened I went "COOL!"
I think a lot of it was in the angle of the shot in the cutscene: very well placed.
Re-used model or not I think it worked pretty well (though I was expecting the gunnery to be bigger). It looks better than the weird thingy with arms dangling off it, which is just silly.
-
Oh, but the giant rug is cool!
I thought Mira was quite a good character, but Hanharr better.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again
Don't bother. Repeating yourself ad nauseam won't change the crux of the matter: you are wrong.
Tee hee.
I tried playing KOTOR1 again, but got bored on Taris. Then again I played KOTOR1 through seven times (damn I'm obsessive) so I think it had become a wee bit predictable

Gah! Too much text at once! Eyes hurt
If you take away the Jedi (well, and the Sith), what interest is there in the Star Wars setting? Really? Ergo, it makes sense for the PC to be one, otherwise he'll ultimately just be in other characters' shadows.
