I hope that kotor2 has the same level up glitches that the original had because you could have a super powerful jedi. If they fixed the level up glitch I just hope that they have some way you can cheat and get all the force powers and a large amount of attribute points and skill points.
But you're going to get them all anyway, because you'll start as a Jedi! The only person who'll need to cheat is Hades_One so he can be a non- Jedi

Why wouldn't they want the game to be moddable? It improves the shelf lives of games when successful.
Because Lucas[arts] can't stand the idea of someone trampling his precious Star Wars scenario with content he hasn't vetted and might not agree with...
-
But it's meant to be epic! Who cares about one weeny little planet! It wouldn't be Star Wars if the entire galaxy didn't face imminent destruction
-
Of course they are... how could they not be?
I'll really boggle if they turn out to be two different people. Of course, Lucas has shredded the script before...
Maybe David Brin's prediction that the Emperor and Yoda are twin evils in league against Vader and the Good Guys will yet come true (link forgotten)

Since there's Force Sense, I expect in KOTOR2 NPCs will react to the PC being obviously turned to the dark side, unlike in the first game -- so a power that conceals it and makes you look "normal" for a little while would be nice After all, "the dark side has clouded our vision", etc, etc... :D

Speaking of things that got the cut in KOTOR1, I found what I think is Sleheyron and the old Dantooine docking place:
Sleheyron:

Dantooine:

WOH. Those are really spectacular... B)
But is the second one really Dantooine? It doesn't look... well... destroyed enough...
-
AFAIK, the crashing issue only started in the 4.6 drivers (where they fixed the problem that caused lag in the Dantooine areas). 4.7 still crashes on level load but AFAICT somewhat less than 4.6. Anyway, unless the engine is doing something it shouldn't be it looks like it's ATI's problem. They'll deal with it.
They do at least seem to be committed to producing good drivers, even if they seem to still miss the mark more often than NVIDIA do.
I don't believe the X800 XT "crushes" the 6800 Ultra, AFAICT from the benchmarks ATI's new card is usually a bit faster but not much. Both look sensational compared to my 9800 Pro, but I'll leave upgrading until I find a game that really bogs it down, these things are expensive And if you want "crushes", look for the NVIDIA SLI dual-card solutions, but prepare for a re-mortgage...

Yes! I want a curved hilt to my lightsaber
And those crystals that are described as "subtly changing the beam" -- it would be cool if they subtly changed the visual appearance of the beam while they're at it (though I suspect this would take much twiddling the devs don't have time for...)
-
It'll be both won't it? As someone else suggested it sounds quite plausible that Kreia, your mentor, will disappear (die?) and that you'll gain a less experienced Jedi as an apprentice...

I heard a rumour there's a third Baldur's Gate in the works. Don't know the truth of that.
Do you mean Jefferson, the old BIS project that was cancelled (*sniff* *sniff* )
That had the "BG3" label for a while IIRC.

She needs a pointier chin in the 3D model
I do like the concept art...
-
Or you could have light spew forth whenever you spark up your lightsaber and see it reflect off the walls. Either that or a flashlight would do.
Having a lightsaber glow brightly enough to see by sounds so realistic it's silly...

How about a maze of twisty little passages, all alike?

My money's on the character in the mask being female, by the way. Even if he isn't *actually* the same person as Whatshername with the white hair...
one artist at Obsidian refered to "her" as a "he", so. I thought she was a girl too (i think I started the Bastila rumor), but it doesn't seem likely now. Not to mention, thats not a girly arm in that concept art. Compare it to the "white haired chicks" arm.
So it would seem. Bang goes that idea

Can't be "Darth Nihilus". I mean, clearly "Darth Nihilus" doesn't exist. Nihilism... geddit? *giggle*
Sorry, had to get that one out of my system...

Either Revan "removed" Malak's jaw, or he lost it while gaining mastery of the dark side. Either way no particular reference exist in the game, wich is very strange If you think that Malak's image is everywere in the game from the starting menu to the game icon.
With some luck you'll be able to find a datapad or what not in KotOR2 .. explaining how Malak lost his jaw. This was one of the things I missed in KotOR to be honest. They should have explained it .. darn it!
Greets
But then Malak wouldn't have been nearly as sinister...

You couldn't reflect the rockets in Jedi Academy...you had to use Force Push on them, and they would get pushed back towards enemies.
So you could do it too.
Argh! Why did I never discover that?!
-
Rocket reflecting was irritating in JA: your enemies could do it, but you couldn't.
Long range kills with a rocket or the Stoulker when the Dark Jedi hadn't seen you or drawn his lightsaber were very satisfying, though.
Making rockets (and grenades?) swerve and miss using the Force would be very cool. Is it something the engine would support? Instinctively I'd guess a general "telekinesis" implementation covering all the levitation things that get done in the films, etc, wouldn't be practical (think of the UI!). It could be tacked-in functionality of the Force Push series powers but they're powerful enough already. Perhaps a "Projectile Deflection" power and, where appropriate (e.g. crowds nearby), pause for a dialog screen asking whether you deflect the projectile away from or into the crowds... nee hee hee

Exactly as it says. The middle of the saber, the hilt, could bend. So when needed, the saber would resemble "V" or "U" or even ~. The weapon would be mainly used as a regular two bladed saber, but this bending option would give more freedom of movement. Also, one could sort of throw the other blade towards the enemy, as the hilt would also flex a bit. There is a traditional, realworld weapon, which could explain my idea, but my memory fails me again.
Do you mean like nunchaku? Those two wooden rods with a chain in between them? I've seen these karate guys swirl them around at incredible speeds and then all of a sudden jam it into their armpits. Guess we'd see arms come flying if they did that with the Star Wars version of a nunchaku..
Sorry about going back four pages but I was reading back and think this could be really intriguing.
I don't know anything about martial arts; how is a nunchaku wielded -- hold one or both of the rods, never the chain? OK, so make a pair of matched rods that project a lightsaber blade between them when they are close enough together (say two arm's lengths) and are pointed very roughly in the same direction. Since the orientation of both rods rather than a single hilt determines the direction of the blade it could curve when they're angled and run straight directly between them when they're pointed directly at each other. Bit like the chain. And with effectively two hilts there's lots of possibilities, for instance, use the Force to throw and levitate one of them, use it as a boomerang, and you could whip it round your opponent and the blade would materialise in time to cut his head off
I think it'd work B)
Mind you, I doubt any of this will have bearing on what goes in the game...

I think it's yellow.
Always thought Yoda should have had a white lightsaber...

*delurk*
Eww, compression artifacts.
That tomb looks fantastic. Dribble.
I wonder if it'll be possible to buy rocket launchers, or if that NPC's wrist mounted one will remain a unique...

Yes, but like most games that make a big deal about "good" vs "evil" you can only turn truly evil at the end. I'd like to be able to make that choice at the start, rather than be herded down a light side path -- not necessarily affecting the storyline all that much, you know (doing two completely separate storylines would be a bad idea, you'd get two very short games rather than the one quite short game that we're going to get) but having those around you acknowledge your dark power... or be deceived... It's all in the dialogue and the little different details
Then, a good twist on the formula would be for a character who's been a darksider all the way through to be able to turn back to the light in time for the ending
