  1. maybe the more this topic is posted about, the sooner the release date.

Come on, people!  all we need is about 5 more threads about this exact same thing and the game will be released the first week of September!  :p

Is this some sort of cunning time distortion effect? B)

Hang on... Don't you dare do that! I'll miss Christmas and I'll miss all my deadlines at work! HK-47! Restrain this meatbag!  :D

  2. As far as I know, only specific games support widescreen. For those that don't, I believe they are stretched.

It does seem to vary. I suspect it's not necessarily trivial to support it. So far I've found very roughly every other game does, for instance, out of my collection that I've tried:

    Support widescreen modes --

    Neverwinter Nights

    Unreal Tournament 2004

    Painkiller

    Far Cry

    Don't support widescreen modes --

    KOTOR1

    All Infinity Engine games

    Doom 3 (shockingly enough :) )

Sometimes stretched is better (e.g. Doom 3), sometimes it just looks downright strange (e.g. IE games; I've set Icewind Dale 2 to 1600x1200, keep aspect ratio, with black bars down the sides -- this is a configurable setting on the monitor).

  3. Ouch, too much text at once ;)

Well, it's been revealed that we're able to walk the dark path from much much earlier in the game and that if we do, our companions will follow us into the gloom...

Rakata character... Do you mean Luo? He was interested in the Force. After those hints from the Elders that the Rakata might be regaining their Force sensitivity, I was slightly disappointed I couldn't show him a trick or two too. But I guess there was Darth Malak up there needing to be foiled with all haste... couldn't hang about ;)

  4. Make up a killer mini game like paazaak or something better, and nake it playable over XBOX Live

Brief history of an expert Pazaak player:

    save/reload/save/save/reload/save/reload/reload/reload... etc etc etc.

Please God, no more of that.. no more Pazaak!! :o

If a mini game should be included, atleast give it some strategic element like chess or drafts. Not that unfair, frustration building, gambling stuff Pazaak is famous for. Good riddens!

I wouldn't be surprised if Pazaak actually means "pain" in Twi'lekian.

I agree. The only reason I played pazaak in KotOR was because one of the people you face gives you a lightsaber crystal you can't find anywhere else...if you beat him 10 times in a row. <_<

He does?? Oooh, who's this? Spoil me please :D

  5. Whatever happened to your animal project, Akari?

It's mostly done. It's not an animal. At least not the one I coded up so far. But I did implement it in such a way that if the designers come up with other things they want to have tag along with characters, they can.

    -Akari

For some reason, the first thing I thought of when I read that was R2-D2 turned into a drinks trolley in RotJ...

  6. It's hard to say too much without dropping clues that could spoil things in advance and that's the last thing I want to do. The best I can do is paraphrase what Avellone said in one of the interviews where he mentioned that we hope to have a more Fallout-like ending, where you get a recap of the fates of the different areas and characters you influenced. That would be coupled with a couple traditional ending sequences that related to how the game ended for your character.

We know endings are important and will do what we can.

    -Akari

Hold on, wasn't Akari the dev guy who protested a while back that he really didn't know anything about the plot? I smell conspiracy...:rolleyes:

  7. He was almost impossible to beat on the star forge with dark consul, cause he resisted almost everything! He was easier when i played with guardian. The trick is to destroy all containers, but the first time i fought him i didnt have a single power to do that. Missfortune...

This is a good point: Bioware's idea of super-powerful bad guys is, all too often, immunity to almost everything, which makes them much tougher for characters that focus on the Force / magic / whatever the scenario's supernatural power is :D than for combat characters. In my experience the Black Isle games didn't tend to suffer from this quite so much (the only BIS pan-immune end boss I can think of is Behlifet, Bioware's all are) so hopefully Obsidian won't make this mistake.

Malak was a dark Guardian, wasn't he? So he should have been less immune to things and better in melee combat, so that the Consular tactics had to be stand-back-and-smite, and the Guardian tactics required attention paid to the screen ;)

  8. evidently you people didnt pay close enough attention to all the choices when speaking  to another charaaacter in the game. for example there is a choice when you are on kashykk that gives you  darkside points when you walk up on the wookie that was put down.

Warning -- KOTOR spoiler follows

Oh I know about that  Thing is though, you can go through KOTOR making many small acts of evil, but Carth and Bastila still think you serve the Jedi Council until you get to the Rakatan world. You even get the "I turned to the darkside" dialog when you and Bastila return to the Ebon Hawk. For a character who was showing unhealthy pallor when he first met the Jedi Council, that just doesn't sit right... I wanted to turn Bastila to the dark side

myself, and feed Carth through the Ebon Hawk's airlock!
