  1. Jade Empire got two votes, but a total of five points so it didn't make the cut (you were one, eimatshya was the other voter with one point).
  2. I haven't played it yet myself. I admit that I've always been dissuaded from playing it because of how big of a red flag the "vampire underworld" setting is for me. I hope - and partly expect - to be wrong about all my preconceptions, and at the very least this poll has definitely made me consider that I should perhaps check it out... But I'm not entirely certain when I'll get around to it.
  3. The final update is up, and with it the list is complete! Obviously we'll have to, err, do some revisions as apparently a glitch allowed there to be two no. 1s, and clearly Quest 64 is the more deserving title. But all the same, Planescape: Torment is the winner with three votes above the second place, which has gone over to Baldur's Gate II. Thanks to everyone who's taken part once more, and I hope you've enjoyed! Now let us bitch and moan about how *wrong* the whole list is.
  4. Reminds me of a more oriental-sounding Skinny Puppy. I like it.
  5. The number of votes has greater priority than the number of points. Knight of the Old Republic has less points but more people voted for it, meaning it placed higher. Points act as a tie-breaker.
  6. so, it appears you did want to get "into it." as we noted 'bove, were clear not simple a matter of mislabeling as you did selective choose... and the google search were precise the problem for you, which would explain why you didn't link. most such google search definitions for generic do not include denotative derogatory. google search is part o' your problem, not your rescue. you used a mislabeled and, in hindsight, anomalous dictionary definition to refute ninjamestar. try and reverse so is Gromnir error is amusing. Upon searching for "generic definition" on Google, the result I get *does* list the derogatory form as a definition for it. Likewise it is seen in the Oxford dictionaries site: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/generic I didn't feel further clarification was needed, but fair enough, since you're so bent on making a fuss out of it.
  7. A new update is up, which we'll officially call the "Obsidian dump edition", and with it we finally break the top 10! I'll be posting the remaining five either tonight or tomorrow.
  8. I didn't post a link because a simple google search would have validated as much. Are you seriously this pedantic, and paranoid to boot so that you'd misconstrue some minor detail or error with ennumeration as a deliberate attempt to deceive? Again, this is a casual conversation on an internet forum, you are reading too much into it.
  9. adjective adjective: generic 1. "..." 1.1 "..." 1.2 derogatory lacking imagination or individuality; predictable and unoriginal. naughty boy let google light the way... at least this once. https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/generic sure, generic can be derogatory, but am suspecting we weren't only person to be surprised to see "1." for such a definition. HA! Good Fun! That was due to trying to cut and highlight what I wanted to. Quoting in this forum is... Weird. At least for me. It took a few tries to get it to look close to right. It's not that I was putting it as the primary definition, simply as *a* definition, which is the one used above. 10 second fix. and yeah, by labelling as "1" (unnecessarily we might add if you were simple posting a definition rather than the definition) you were being misleading, particular as you didn't bother to include the link, as did Gromnir. maybe a mistake. maybe not. HA! Good Fun! If you want to twist a minor detail into a deliberate attempt to mislead or misinform the rest, suit yourself. I'm not getting into this again.
  10. Ahhh good ole Bioware, the EA of the yesteryears Love me some Mass Effect! I thought BioWare was the EA of the present?
  11. I'd find it amusing to read what places like the Codex would have to say about the list.
  12. Are you suggesting a board dedicated to a specific developer is *biased* in favour of said developer? Impossibru!! In all seriousness, yes, the odds are in Pillars' favour, and same can be said about the rest of the Obsidian/Black Isle games. Not that that's particularly bad, there's always going to be some kind of community bias and, for the most part, it is also quite representative of the tastes in this forum too (since hey, we're here for a reason).
  13. adjective adjective: generic derogatory lacking imagination or individuality; predictable and unoriginal. "generic dance-floor fillers" naughty boy let google light the way... at least this once. https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/generic sure, generic can be derogatory, but am suspecting we weren't only person to be surprised to see "1." for such a definition. HA! Good Fun! That was due to trying to cut and highlight what I wanted to. Quoting in this forum is... Weird. At least for me. It took a few tries to get it to look close to right. It's not that I was putting it as the primary definition, simply as *a* definition, which is the one used above.
  14. I want all three of you and kirottu for Finland (I think he's Finnish at least) to go all-out in a Scandinavian battle royale to defend your country's pride as the best touristic destination in the region. I'll be dropping a knife or two to help things along. The winner also gets to claim Iceland as a province.
  15. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. actually... I haven't played it myself but was all the same surprised by the high placing in the list, and slightly curious even though I've never been a huge fan of survival horror games (which I understand the game is? I could be wrong).
  16. We're finally into the top 20! From here on each update will be five games each. We might be doing an update leter this evening to make up for the lack of update yesterday however. Anyhow, thoughts on this new batch?
  17. Oh, I agree that it doesn't, but the term's context informs the way it is used. I never said it was the only way you could use it, I only said it was the way Wormerine did.
  18. I thought they were all killed Some descendants still survive, who were interviewed in El botón de nácar for example, but yeah, as a culture/people it's dead. Hasn't stopped others from using bits and pieces of their culture though.
