1. Throw yourself into the Skaen's pit out of shame!
2. What is the effect of AttackVariation? Also, any idea where does the spiritshift cat gets its extra attack/recovery buff from (not the 1/day flurry ability, just the standard attacks)? Speedfactor on the claw item is the same for all shapes.
3. That'd be the priest giving away placebo instead of real meds. In that case, it's perfectly fine to understimate a man's will.
4. Play drunk. Suddendly story mode poses a serious challenge.
5. For the first half of the game you're probably best served by making the druid (good starting deflection, hatchet+shield, defensive talents) and the wizard (multiple deflection buffs, draining effects) tank most of the hardest encounters. I feel you're giving up on one interesting aspect of the game, that makes you think twice about abandoning one of your doomed toons to their (temporary) death: without injuries it's a lot better to not waste heals or cc to keep one of your surrounded teammates from hitting the dust, knowing that their health will be alright for future encounters, and revive spells can bring them on your feet once enemies moved away from the corpse. You can still have fun playing a vengeful martyr with injuries on, given how most of them don't nerf his damage output. Injuries are also suppressed by the proper spell, or through a ring of Unshackling or a paladin Liberating Exhortation, quite funny if you ask me: I have this mental image of the zealous commander yelling at his dumb meatbag to get up for that last stand, before sending him to death once more.
6. Ah I'm a bit clueless on the matter, but that sort of stuff tends to happen. I downloaded and extracted my own .zip and works like a charm, at least on my install. I'm not liking these edits at all though
7. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kaq8l7yhpm0klla/CipherQuickDirtEdits.rar?dl=0 I didn't bother with the cipherabilityprogressiontable, at least not until we decide the edits work and can be shared this way. Edit: that's same exact modded powers dr <3 asked earlier for, plus my backup files to dump into objectbundle directory. Moar Edits: Win10/GoG, fyi
8. No idea what could have gone wrong with your stuff, tbh it was easier for me to re-edit than trying to find the issue, but I guess a bad upload? Don't repair installation yet, I'm uploading my backups... stay tuned...
9. I confirm everything dr <3 experienced. Your backup files caused issues as well. I can try post an alternate version in a bit
10. Makes me Wonder: if some of these bugs are easily fixable by the community, then why Obsidian didn't address them yet? They probably moved on. Also, the definition of Bug/Feature/WhoCaresIsASinglePlayerGame varies depends who you ask to. Talking about ciphers, one edit I made was making Psychovampiric Shield combat only and not castable on self... it came naturally as a bug-fix but then somebody who had the pretty smart idea of making RES 2 ciphers and buffing himself pre-combat might look at it as unnecessary nerf to his own fun. Then you check who is left playing a good game after 2 years from launch and that any balance fix (check 3.05 reaction to Unlabored Blade proc nerf) makes them raise the pitchforks and realize it's better not indulge further. I guess
11. Casting on self is not a problem, casting on charmed enemies is. In my experience parameter 15 description is misleading. I found out simply editing the relevant ability works for testing and in game after a reload it all feels smooth, but it sort of breaks a flawless playthrough if you don't also edit the abilityprogressiontable files. Sadly that also means cross-modding the same class has to face another obstacle.
12. You have to send him a modified cipherabilityprogressiontable.unity3d or the powers show as default during character creation/level up I think, or just add a disclaimer "don't trust the level up screen, save and reload to fix description".
13. Okay that's embarassing, I changed the exact same values for amplified wave and it didn't work :| I also worked blind trying each value at time (from 0 to 20), where did you get that nice list? Edit: trying right now using the (default*) Liberating Exhortation that has validtarget parameter: 15, doesn't work on a charmed (Whisper of Treasons) enemy. *I nerfed (or bug-fixed?) it to be ally only like all other exhortations
14. Balance wise is not a big issue; ciphers on the other hand have no single 'buff' power they can simply cast on themselves without manipulating somebody else soul first. I actually like that part of their kit, makes them opposite of self-buffing wizards. About Pain Block, from a design perspective it looks quite obvious that they intended to provide self-dr through Body Attunement only, sharing the same spell level in fact, making you work for it. That's ... a bit of nitpicking A shame charmed enemies are by all targeting purposes still treated as enemies instead, I couldn't find a way to alter that and would be a nice fix.
15. Quick check shows effective PotD values. Also, insert random rant about flat scaling and front-loaded challenge.
16. Sorry, didn't want to trigger you I'm a bit clueless here, just reading through the ...PillarsOfEternity_Data\data_expansion2\localized\en\text\conversations\px2_05_wildernesses\px2_05_cv_adaryc.stringtable looking for clues but for the actual reputations effects I don't know where to look. English is not my main language either, trying to keep a clean reputation without hints look harsh, especially when some answers aren't very clear.
<DefaultText>"Give me a chance and I can help you find the truth. That's all I'm asking for." </DefaultText> <FemaleText />

<DefaultText>"You want to keep Readceras safe? I'd like Caed Nua to stay in one piece. We both win."</DefaultText> <FemaleText />

<DefaultText>"If the gods sent us both a warning, it's because they believe we can stop this."</DefaultText> <FemaleText />
What's that, stoic/rational/passionate? I'd rate them all as "pacifist" and screw my dispositions
17. It'd help if you remembered your conversation with him; does this ring a bell?
<DefaultText>"If we fight, you die here. What good are you to Readceras then?"</DefaultText> Rational/Stoic is indeed a bit mixed up.
18. A combination of the two is probably wisest. No, you just have to be a little more cautious in your AoE placing. Also unless I am wrong about Intellect AoE being Foe only (and I am fairly certain I'm not), higher Intellect characters actually have an easier time placing AoE spells without doing friendly fire. I'm in a deep love-hate relationship with most NPCs and have absolutely no issues with burning Eder's ass with Fan of Flames all day long. You're right about how INT affects aoes, and mechanically-wise TC is not that bad, it just irks my perfectionist battle mindset not knowing exactly the effects of my casts. I'll probably change idea in a few playthroughts, but I'm in the middle of some abilities editings (aoes included) and expert mode would be a hinderance for testing Death to TC! But Paladin ftw.
19. Sorry for your luck paladin fanboy mate, but you asked for it! P.S. If INT didn't change aoe of everything I'd enjoy TC more; heck I could paint on the monitor the aoe of a baldur's gate fireball compared to skull trap with pixel accuracy after all these years but those things had the decency of always occupy the same area.
20. yes yes yes, I mean, Off Topic. And when you type ), do you mean ? Edit: Very. I already halved Dragon Trashed damage And it's still good I rolled my eyes a bit at the 'total overhaul' comment, wonder how my stuff would rate. Now toying a bit with having different phrase count requirement for invocations belonging to the same tier, and generally aiming at having a class that doesn't just do 2-3 things good and is left on autopilot /rant.
21. Test done, -ArmorPen modal stacks with durgan refined armor (that's with a breastplate - base 0.6 ArmorSpeedFactor), or Pilf's gloves, not both (well that would have been obvious, if only I checked your tool earlier).
22. I think up to level 9, with no-game changing abilities, a per-rest option is actually okay, so would probably try that. I have to be honest though, I never played a ranger on PoE so a bit clueless here I'm probably one of the few people happy about the max party limit of 5 in Deadfire... 6 feels clunky and 6+pet (or more!) is too much for me I give with one hand... and take away with the other It's nice for the Magran's feat to work with that but having it usable by anybody would probably make it the best weapon ever. At least can roleplay some player-made priest stealing it. Heck I toyed with making it undroppable but that made it impossible to switch weapon set, quite sad. I'd say that then the opportunity cost of Armored Grace is not being able to take Clear Out at the same level, or something you skipped earlier, and if those picks are that much inferior to AG, then it's about buffing them a lil or tone down the latter. With the aura being a defining ability of the Paladin on the other hand, I can be more generous with buffs there. Too much OT now, about that Community Balance Patch...
23. Hey that's good news, I'm used to xml from Civ games^^. Even if a Near Infinity successor would be a dream... duh, I skipped the fine print somewhere looks like. Then I just edit ZC description again I came to the same conclusion while looking at the hastening exhortation, made that one a +50% (still 3/rest); VV seems okay for my poverty/minimal rests runs and is cheap early game, beside making it last a lil longer not sure what's needed there. It looks like all orders have one "oomph" defining skill and one that can be safely skipped/retrained out though, definitely worth focus on that... after my other 247289 priorities 15% aoe vs 20% self with Confident Aim Armored Grace, wouldn't be too much? Or you feel AG is weak as well? Tbh, I was going to ask you in the Community Bug Fixes thread if anything like a Community Balance Patch was in the making...
24. Yes, I definitely meant that Thank for the explanation, brainfart moment. OT: One of my first edits actually, back then I was feeling optimistic enough to make it a soulbound weapon before the lack of modding tools killed my mood. I settled to this: And that's an example of why I'm damn reluctant about making anything public, too many controversial approaches to a single player game. I'm a old BG/NWN tryhard and too many per-encounter stuff goes against my desire of having to balance resources between rests. Heck I made HoF/Charge/Sacred Immolation 2/rest, people would riot Seriously, having low-level abilities per-encounter are okay, they help defining classes without letting them auto-attack the whole time; it's just when you have 10+ per-encounter skills that every fight tends to be approached with the same routine. /OT
