So, I made Xoti a Contemplative this time and she pulls her weight so much better than as a pure Priest (did the Drake bounty at level 4 without cheese and she got the kill - Eder and Serafen got knocked out tho). I am just wondering if I should focus on her fists (as in forever main weapon) or give her other weapons in the long run. Will fists still be strong later even if I am missing 2 PL? I already stole obtained Tuitilo's Palm just for the heck of it. Or should I give her something completely different? If fists, what would be a good backup weapon type for her? and in general. Is DW still (dps-)king like in poe1? So far (level 8 ) it seems that way, but maybe that will change later? Siccing Eder on mages is great even if I only got Skrim and a Fine Dagger for him so far. Should I keep him dual-wielding or is he better off with SnS or 2handed stuff? I already got Serafen with Morning Stars as recommended in my other thread

Skill Questions: Party Assist Skills, best progression? Burte as a Scroll Caster or secondary Mechanic? Should everyone get a little Alchemy? And Explosives worth it?

Okay, I'll make 2 Arcana users and 1 Explosives user now Wish I had a better Mechanics guy than Eder as a Swashbuckler xD -
1. So, what is the best skill progression for party members? Should I focus each NPC on a different passive? Or is it better to spread it more evenly because of diminishing returns for party assists? I am of course also looking at the powergamey aspect of this (at least to some extend - no 'lore-breaking' skills for now ), as there are a few items I am interested in that get buffs from passives. Namely Mohorā Tanga for its minor dmg boost, Ruata's Walking Cloak for its Stride buff, both for Eder (Swash) to get him to priority targets ASAP even if I am out of Guile for Escape. Also interesting for Eder is Shining Bullwark for when I need a tank. I am just not sure if that shield is even good? On paper it seems to be... Last but not least The Giftbearer's Cloth, in this case for Rekke (Brute) for a neat little defensive boost. I will RP with Insight, Survival, Diplomacy and History on my Watcher. Just writing all this down makes it seem to me that - except for boosting item effects - it should be far more effective to spread the skill points out among multiple chars, or am I mistaken? Are the 4 listed items even worth it? 2. Rekke as a Brute. I thought of bumping his Arcana up to have a third scroll caster for when the need arises. Troubadour Watcher, Xoti as Monk and then Rekke. The other approach would be to ease the burden on Eder a bit and bumping Mechanics a bit so all of my frontliners could have at least an acceptable Athletics score instead of one having 0 and the others whatever. Though I read that Athletics is not as good in DF as it was in POE1? So maybe only getting 2 on everyone to get the party assist bonus and 7 on the watcher for the solo checks? 3. Alchemy on everyone. Worth it? Is it a dump or max stat or are a few points in it helpful? 4. Explosives. Is a Demolition Expert worth the stat investement? Or are explosives obsolete later on? At least on Port Maje and early Neketaka I found them to be quite useful... That's it for now xD Thanks in advance

Okay, Imma do other stuff first then. The Gullet was just so intriguing with Tekehu, so I jumped down into Old City and into my doom right away xD Did poe1 on PotD first full run, so I want to do that here as well. After doing Maje Island a dozen times of course... Had to google who or what Sanza was. I wanted to buy his dog Kaleb so bad xD

No more questionaire for which class to pick xD But I'm having serious issues keeping my Wurm-Summoner alive. The moment she gets sneezed at you can bet she goes down like a rock. I have 12 base constitution /15 base Resolve and wear medium/light armor (Aloth's Leather currently) and I use a medium shield rn. Rarely attacking, mostly summoning and sometimes healing. I canNOT afford any equipment anywhere. Every enemy I killed drops garbage items that barely get me any money, and buying 'fine' equipment seems counterintuitive, as I barely scrape by anyway. Level 6, tried to get through Old City, gave up quickly. Tried the narrows, same problem. Supposedly these areas are okay for my level??? No skull in the Journal. Any advice is much appreciated

I saw you advocating for Beguiler quite often by now, but never really anyone else xD What makes it so good in your opinion that you would recommend it over Ascendant? I find the mechanic quite intriguing, I am just unsure how to incorporate it with Cipher having so many single-target abilities... And I totally overlooked Furyshaper for some reason, was not on my radar at all. How do the 2 work together so well? On a side-note: Do you use Unity Console? If so, do I need to update somehow or is it working as intended?
-
As I suffer from heavy Restarteritits again, I would prefer not to have to edit the subclasses via console commands every damn time I start a new run. So, I am looking for a way to either savely edit game files or use an existing mod (Unity Console). With the direct edit, I wouldn't know where to start - though I read here or there that it isn't hard to do? Just couldn't find a guide... With Unity Console, I just couldn't find if the mod is still compatible with up-to-date game patches + some other mods, as its last update was mid-2018? Maybe there is some 'third party' patch for that to work with the game now? And just to list what I want to do. Serafen Wild Mind into Beguiler or Cipher Eder Fighter into Unbroken Rekke Fighter into Monk (Forbidden Fist) Not much, but still xD

Short 'update' question to the topic. I want to edit Serafen's subclass because he killed himself once and buffed the enemies once against the first bounty (which was pretty much a battle of attrition) and that is really a bad first impression, but I like his character and he gets along with Tekehu, so. Would a Barb/Beguiler work well? Beguiler mostly because it still fits his flavour. Otherwise I guess I would either go Ascendant or no sub. Barb I am not finding any of the subclasses very appealing, aside from Corpse Eater - which just doesn't fit with Serafen.
