  1. Well when I killed her on the star forge she just wasn't enywhere to be found at the final cutscene. Are you running the game with the latest patch?
  2. Wrong where I come from you by a CD-R with 30 - 35 Euros witch is almost 30 - 35$. You can buy a DVD drive even with 15$.
  3. Tha sounds more like the Terminator movies than Star wars although this time the target would be Malak's jaw. It would be intresting to see something like this though... I think.
  4. I have noticed that all battles in KotOR didn't last more than 2 minutes apart from the final battle with Malak. So a set of three battlecryes for each character would be enough, so in afight you would hear at least two different taunts before it is over. By the way has anyone noticed that Darth Malak didn't say a word as a battlecry in both battles. I mean with that metal thingie as a jaw he would sound pretty cool.
  5. My thought exactly.
  6. While I would like my pc to have his/hers own voice on the other hand it takes something out of the character. Like in the BG series all other characters could speak (some times) except for the protagonist. Somehow the game left you with an imaginary voice in your mind making the character unique. In other games like GOTHIC where the main hero was fully voiced I had the feeling that he was allways the same character nomatter how the game played out.
  7. That is a good idea, considering the fact that you are an experienced Jedi but starting from level 1. A unique 1st level feat would reflect a special trait the character had attained during his Jedi training or the Mandalorian wars. Also there could be some feats like the traits in the Fallout series, giving a significant bonus and a significand penalty at the same time.
  8. Versus mode would make sense only if you could pit unique characters againgst each other. There are 9 possible class combinations and the equippment is basicaly the same for any combat oriented character. Remember KotOR is not Neverwinter Nights.
  9. Couldn't agree more. Truly epic...
  10. I highly disagree. KoTR is an RPG so skills is what makes one soldier different than the next. Maybe BIOWARE should have implemented more skill checks, this would give a better feeling of a characters expertise in a skill. Besides a Jedi isn't simply a force user, he has to use other skills in order to further his goals.
  11. I think that Malak would be a lot more sinister -at least in the imagination of the gamer- if his appearance was consealed under a robe or something, until your first encounter with him. If you have the ultimate evil infront of you when you press the new game option, then the Dark lord is losing a great part of the mystique surrounding his figure.
  12. That got me to thinking. If the plan all along was to make 2 (or 3, or 4) KOTOR games, perhaps they should have done so in a less progressive way. Take the movies for example. Luke Skywalker started to learn about the Force in the first movie. He saved the day, but was still very low in terms of Force ability by the end of ANH. In ESB, he gradually got stronger. Then in RotJ, he was pretty much a "maxed out" character. If LA had made this transition mandatory, you (the PC) could have been Revan through the whole game. Except maybe the "twist" didn't occur until the 2nd or 3rd game. First game, you play through mainly as a soldier/scout/scoundrel, then near the end you go to Dantooine and learn the basics of Jedi training. Then at the end you save the day (for whatever was THAT given day's peril). Then in KOTOR2, you play through as a Jedi Padawan, learning to use the Force. At the end, you're told about who you are, and perhaps THAT is how the game ends. The final game, you play through as a Jedi battling inner demons at learning who you are, and your path can either lead you to becoming a Sith Lord or a Jedi Master by the end. I would certainly have performed harakiri if not at the end of the first part, surely at the end of the second. On the other hand if each part lasted as long as the real KotOR then the game as atotal would have a lot more detail, plus the forums at BIOWARE would be overflowing with suicide posts... I think.
  13. From what I understood Revan is definetily going to play a key role in the new story. If you are considered the last Jedi and Revan followed the path of Light then he/she will surely try to help you escape the Sith and try to rebuild the order. If Revan followed the path of Darkness then he/she will try to destroy you at some time in the game, or even fight you him/herself. If Revan makes an actuall appearance in the game, how would he/she look like. I read somewhere that you could preordain if Revan was a man or a woman, thing which would make sence only if you truly meet Revan at person. As a dark lord Revan could keep the old outfit and the only addition required whould be a voice depending purely upon Revan's gender. But as a Jedi Revan's face would be uncovered...
  14. Either Revan "removed" Malak's jaw, or he lost it while gaining mastery of the dark side. Either way no particular reference exist in the game, wich is very strange If you think that Malak's image is everywere in the game from the starting menu to the game icon.
  15. What I suggested was indeed something like a bullet time "high level ability" that could replace the burst of speed power, provided you hade some prerequired fears, abilities e.t.c. I truly think it makes sense. After all if a Level 20 Jedi like Revan in KoTR 1 could use this power shouldn't -a level 30 or more (depending from the new level cap)- be able to use an even more powerfull version of this power?
  16. Well it should be quite a change from the only other augmentation system (implants). But I believe that a mechanical part should have more roleplaying value than enything else. Well I will agree that as a feat it is to weard but as a special subquest when you gain dark side mastery it could work. For example: "You and your party are set upon by a cloacked dark jedi and a couple of assasins. The fight is hard but you prevail in the end, altough just barely. The dark Jedi proved to be quite strong in the force so he intrigues you enough to remove his cloack. What you see underneath the hood is not very intriguing... or is it?" Now at this point you could get the idea that the dark side corrupts your body as well as your soul. So you should decide if you would be ready to sacrifice your physical integrity in order to continue down the path of darkness. This could also be a turning point for you, since it could make you think more seriously about the dangers of the dark side. On the other hand the dead jedi could be not so dead, so when you so carelessly leaned down on him, he took the opportunity for a last strike (everything in dialog mode). The moment that this happens you get a few dialog options in order to perform a few evasion efforts but each and every one of them would just beraly save your life and at the same time make you loose a specific-expossed at the time- limp...
  17. I suppose this could happen but for everything there is a first time. Besides if you have the choise to turn a sith lord to the light would you not do it even if she fell in love with your character? If you follow the light and you manage to turn her, well you made an epic feat like the redemption of Revan. If you follow the dark you team up with her and wreck the entire galaxy. You always need someone for company when you destroy the galaxy otherwise it isn't fun after a while. besides you 'll get bored alone anyway.
  18. Well there is always the danger to lose a hand or two when you fight with lightsabers. So it would be reasonable for a jedi to get a disfiguring injury in combat wether he is following the light or the dark. But it would be better if you lost a limp by choice rather than by luck. I emphasize the matter for the DS because choosing to lose a part of your body in order to gain more power shows the resolve and ruthlesnes of a true sith. If someone stops before nothing in order to gain more power then he is truly to be feared. That should make someone a true Sith.
  19. The sith could very well be woman and even could be the new dark lord, but both are a bit uncertain. I could picture a man unter the hood although the shape is likely female. That figure is surely going to be significant in the game, she might even be a possible dark companion if you chose the dark path, as likely is the other woman with the white hair a companion if you go through the path of light.
  20. Also there could be cowled Dark jedi robes for those that were disfigured by the force. Some would hide part of the face others almost completly.
  21. Thats a good idea after all the Sith are all about power and control. You could even have some smuggler ships at your desposal at later parts of the game to perform various "tasks" for you, you could even arrange assasinations. After all before you set out to rule the galaxy you should learn a thing or two about handling a brutal syndicate (like the Sith empire would be).
  22. I thing it would be great if you found any Holographic recordings of the previous crew, like some transmission that Carth last made or depending upon wich ending you chose for KoTR 1 you could find the transmission to admiral Doddona right before the Ebon Hawk entered the Star Forge. Or you could even get some broken recording that gave you some clues as to why her previews crew left her.
  23. I know that. I only mentioned my low dexterity to point my low natural armour class because of the dexterity penalty. I never mentioned anything about dexterity bonuses. B)
  24. Well offcourse you shouldn't be able to avoid blaster fire. But maybe when you activated this power you would be able to deflect more blaster fire per round than normal, getting extremely fast reflexes (bonus reflex save or something like evasion) so that you could avoid granades or any other area affecting abilities plus you would get the bullet time effect. To ballance this out this power could last around 10-15 seconds. All this could perhaps replace the old burst of speed power or you would aquire this power through a special feat. For example if you had all three speed powers and all three Jedi sense feats you could qualify for this "high level power".
  25. What about a ruthless, cruel and incidious... woman as a sith lord. Some times I think women make better badguys than... well guys. I mean sure a man can be cruel, powerfull and ruthless, but women are generaly more cunning than us men and when they want to be "evil" they can be realy good (personal experience teaches us well). Plus I think a female sith lord would defenitely have more style. B)
