Well, lay 'insanity' isn't really a specific term, people use it for all kind of crap, not just psychosis. It's not like they're mutually-exclusive, anyway. That's when you get things like schizoaffective disorder, depression with psychotic features, and whatnot. Some would consider it a spectrum, which is where the 'borderline' from borderline personality disorder comes from, referring to someone 'in-between'.
  4. Better yet, we need to have a vote of no confidence against Hades! Am I rite, folks, am I rite?
  5. Even if it eventually becomes 'industry standard', most games will likely not properly take advantage of it, or make a gimmick out of it. As new technology emerges, the focus will still likely be on making crap shinier and prettier. There's so much potential for new technology to make major improvements to gameplay itself, but it goes mostly untapped. Next-gen my eye. I want next-gen gameplay.
  6. The Cellfactor one was quite impressive, especially with the potential of pulling that stuff in multiplayer. The rest was kinda meh.
  7. Because it's first-person and thus crap.
  8. No, she's right. Consoles
  9. Unless you can't outrun werewolves  Will this ever get old?
  10. Speak for yourself
  11. It's not a 'RTS' in the conventional way. The devs call it a 'Tactical Fleet Simulator'. You focus completely on your fleet, there's no resource gathering or anything. It's a slow-placed game where you only control a few ships at most (10 max, or something), but designed in such a way that even just one ship is plenty to have fun. Battles don't end in just a few seconds of twitch-clicking. In fact, twitch won't really help you here, given the pace of the game. Depending on which weapons you carry, you can try to take out shields, or bypass them and attack the hull, or specific parts of the ship. Basically, depending on what your detection capabilities are (you get pretty good customization options for your ships), you can highlight individual parts of the enemy. Shield generators, individual weapons, radar, etc. Here's the thing, you can give a specific target (could be different ships, too) for each specific weapon you have. You'll also have to manage your energy to power your weapons, shield, engine, etc, so using all your weapons all the time might not always be efficient. Lots of fun. There's a demo around, but it's not very user-friendly. I found the readme for that did its job well enough, though. The way the full game introduces you to the game is very well-done, it's a shame they didn't release that part as a demo.

  20. I just had the impression that, if someone (and not just Hurlshot) has a hard time keeping their attention on a game longer than 30 hours, then ADD has something to do with it. I didn't think you were trying to be insulting. Though it doesn't necessarily mean people don't take it that way. I remember a friend of mine was struggling in English 101, so he went to the teacher for help. His teacher recommended some excellent ESL (English Second Language courses) that would help him out. It would probably help a lot, except that English was my friend's native language. His last name was Le Bray, so she probably assumed he was French. I'm sure she didn't mean to insult him, but he felt pretty crappy being recommended to an ESL course when he's spoken English his whole life. I also can imagine that it is not that uncommon if people without ADD could have problems sticking with a game for 30+ hours. Extenuating circumstances can pull a person away from a game for a while (such things as lives, kids, work, etc.). I know I usually have a hard time jumping back into a game after being away for a while. I never finished Morrowind because of that, and I'm having a hard time getting back into Oblivion because of my vacation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, the diagnosis doesn't usually take watching TV or playing games into consideration as criteria to assess inattention or distractibility, since many kids with it WILL stay still and watch TV for hours on end.
  21. Join NOW, idiot. We're back at the inn.
