  1. There are? I only recall a single Stalin. He was Premier of the Soviet Union in the middle of the 20th Century. If it was in our instinct to kill each other, there'd be much more murders. People wouldn't buy into the social contract as eagerly as you claim, because it'd be completely against instinct. Unless you've chosen to use your own definition of the word instinct.
  2. Agreed! History has shown that people completely lack compassion.
  3. Meh, I found combat to require some though (and especially patience) when on Hell difficulty in Hardcore. The game is so much more interesting when death is more than a mere penalty.
  4. I probably shouldn't comment as it's going to derail the thread, but if it was instinct to kill each other, there'd be much more killing going on.
  5. My Dad can play Secret Agent Man. I should contact the Hoff and they can tour together! Hooked on a feeling is better though!
  6. So, one guy holds the flashlight while the rest shoot the badguys?
  7. A skill based RPG you say? Interesting. Very interesting.
  8. I should try out the demo when I have some time. Is there any sneak previews about DNF?
  9. jags was baiting? Naturally. Mine was ignoring the actual targets though
  10. Still a great movie. I get chills whenever I see a soldier crying out "Momma!" That and Band of Brothers were both excellent!
  11. Didn't Israel's placement just stop them from fighting each other, to fighting a "common enemy?"
  12. I don't usually snap, but I have snapped at an innocuous statement before, that was just trash talking. It was in Grade 8. At the beginning of the school year, my brother was killed in a motorcycle accident. At the end of the year, we were playing football during lunch recess. We were trash talking each other, and one of the guys that I was chirping at replied "at least my brother's not dead." I almost killed him. Literally. Had the rest of the people playing not restrained me, Hades would think I should be executed. And I'm someone that avoids running over gophers on the road because I feel bad afterwards. Expecting a sports athlete should be immune to snapping is to expect them to not be human. Good luck with that.
  13. The place wasn't exactly "happy happy" before Israel came along.
  14. Yes, because just like the movies small covert teams are secret ninjas and pull of rescue ops no problem. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, hollywood or not, that is what groups like the YAMAM or Sayaret Matkal are for. An armour division is what you use if youre attempting to rescue 5000 soldiers caught in a pinching manouver by the enemy, not to save two men taken prisoner by guerillas <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I could think of a reason for doing it with an Armored Division.
  15. I think I would have preferred the less happy ending as well, but I find I often prefer the less happy ending. I would have really liked Click ( ) if it had the unhappy ending as well. But I knew it wasn't going to. It did lead to a funny moment (Slevin's ending). "I'm a world class assassin ****head"
  16. I liked Vin Diesel in Pitch Black too. While a smaller role, I also liked him in Saving Private Ryan. He was a "decent" character
  17. News update...Doom 3 is in the house.
  18. No way you can beat a skilled Dhalsim player easily. Getting within striking distance alone is quiet a feat. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Meh. Only if you play with lame "no special moves" rules. I used to play that way, with limited spamming of special moves, which made Dhalsim more difficult. If I'm playing as Ryu, my advances typically involve the hurricane kick. I don't recall a hurricane kick bug with Ryu though. I was also a big fan of Vega too though. His suplex move was cool, and you could always use the claw if you had to, all from the same move. I remember one thing I hated about Chun Li, and it was how she could jump off the edge of the screen.
  19. M. Bison? Pfft. He's a punk. People always try to do his lame sliding trip and against inexperienced players you could actually get them stuck in the corner. Guile used to be a pain, because his special moves could both be set up the same way (hold down and back), and you could fire sonic booms until the guy tried jumping it, then he would flash kick you. Though I learned how to spam Ryu's much faster fireball, and it was gameover for him then! Plus while going up in the Dragon Punch you are invincible (I once Dragon Punched a fireball with zero health left to avoid getting it, since blocking would have killed me. Made me feel l33t). Much better than Sagat's lame, wannabe Tiger Uppercut. Ken may be a wannabe follower too, but at least he took the time to learn the mad skillz0rs in the correct way. Sagat is a little baby. Ryu whoops him! Though I think Balrog (in Turbo, since you could play him) was the worst. Ugh did he suck. Dhalsim, the stetch guy? Sucks. Ahhhh, so many memories.
  20. Good Chun Li players were the only ones that could rival my Ryu skills back in the day :D
  21. He typically seems to be "the good guy." Appropriately though, the other common character is Chun Li.
  22. You're using Ubunto right? I have a Fedora Core partition, but it was mainly for work reasons (at the time). Now, I can still do my stuff (different work) using Eclipse on Windows, so I don't really have the need to touch the Linux distribution anymore. It still exists because I'm inherently lazy
  23. I would laugh out loud if the decision was reversed and Italy had their championship revoked, and went down in the official record books as coming in second that game. And not even that I care who does or does not win, just because the sheer shock and rioting in Italy would be insane.
  24. Yes, because just like the movies small covert teams are secret ninjas and pull of rescue ops no problem.
