  1. If I remember correctly, the 'PNJ' forums were closed down because there was nothing new to report. Has anyone found evidence that 'PNJ" has been cancelled? Or, is this all a guess?
  2. Thanks for the clearification. I hope a developer comes in and answers your question.
  3. If you ever get an answer to your question, please share it with the rest of us. You bring up a very good question. I am begining to think that 'next-gen' is an excuse to get more money. I can't wait to see the price. SW: Empire at War was $50. Will this price be reflective to other 'next-gen' games? Will NWN2 be that expensive as well? If that is the case, there is no need to purchse 'next-gen' games until three years from now. I wonder if there has been a disconnect between the consumer (the gamer) and the developers and publishers. This could be how Obsidian does business. I hope the specs are a late April Fools joke.
  4. Nope. You will have to wait until a modder finishes the game. (w00t) In order to play this game, you would have to purchase this computer: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...90&type=product Price = $3,499.99 No game on Earth is worth that much. I would rather buy a good $800 computer, and use it for my production work. I will be buying a 2.7/2.8 ghtz computer soon, but I refuse to purchase more power than what I really need. No way man! I hope your faith is not misplaced. If the next-generation of gaming is on a $4,000.00 computer then game companies will not be in business for a very long time.
  5. If you think about the other fixes they found on the way, we did benefit from their tinkering over the past year and a half. I think it is a waste of energy to worry about when this project will be done. At the moment, I have already uninstalled KotOR II. I don't see how one mod will change how I feel about what I originally bought. It could bring a slightly newer perspective, and allow me to have a little fun. However, my fun days with KotOR II are over. It is kind of sad to see that outsiders have to fix a game developer's errors and blotched edits. It should also be taken as a warning sign. Some interesting questions come to mind: 1. Will buying another Obsidian & LA product result in blotched edits? 2. Will buying another Obsidian & LA product mean that I have to rely on outsiders to finish their job? 3. Does this mean that Obsidian & LA will abandon any future games that have errors, for they believe modders will pick up the pieces? How much further will this go? I am glad to see NWN2 was delayed, for it does give me hope. However, I will probably wait until I see some fan reviews, not game magazine or site reviews, before I decide to buy NWN2. I praise TSL Restoration teams efforts, but it is not a long-term solution for Obsidian and LA. In the short-term, this will please gamer. In the long-term, this could have dramatic affects on how Obsidian and LA do business. "Leave it to the modders." Truth be told, the developer and publisher should have gotten together and released an expansion pack. At least with the expansion pack, they would have restored the cut content themselves, and they could have fixed their blotched errors. At least I would have given them both a thumbs up, for they fixed their own errors. I guess that is too much to ask.
  6. Here you go: http://startrek.bethsoft.com/home/home.html
  7. Games you have Uninstalled recently? - Starfleet Command 3 - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - Sim City 4 (Weird Little Game) - Tom Clancey: Raven's Shield
  8. I just removed all the games that I had on my harddrive. I have been reading novels for the past several weeks. The last game I had installed was 'Starfleet Command 3'. After I played through 'Knights of the Old Republic 2', for the hundreth time, I wanted to play a classic game. Besides being interested in Star Trek: Legacy, I don't think I will be playing or buying any other newer games in the near future. Unfortunately, I will probally not buy NWN2, for I am getting tired of playing RPGs. Star Trek: Legacy is my next purchase, and it will probally be my last one for at least a year or two.
  9. After reading the several pages of this thread, I can garauntee (sp?) that there will be dissapointed gammers. I think one of the greatest problem with doing a sequel is that it is compared to the original. I am not a big D&D fan, and I have not played NWN I. I am hoping that NWN2 is just as good as the screenshots. I personally don't have any expectations for this game, so this will be my maiden voyage into the NWN world.
  10. Lol... You should have read the first pages. Lol... We allready conversed on the subject, and another poster helped me find the files that were cut. After I read through them, I started to see what people were talking about. Lol... After i stopped posting in the thread, there seemed to be another subject brewing. Or, another set of people are conversing about the subject. Lol... Up until I was full introduced to the 'cut conent', I truely thought the story had a completed ending. I knew there were cliff-hangers, but I didn't realize that there was so much stuff removed. Lol... :"> :"> :"> :"> :"> :"> :"> :">
  11. Yeah, lol indeed. Are you high or something? If obsidian publically would support this it would be like saying "Kotor 2 was flawed and this was mainly because unreasonable time constraints by Lucasarts". This wont happen ever. If you want to stay in business you don
  12. Even though I have played the game, I don't believe I have enough of Revan's story to make a perfect opinion. I am versed with Thrawn's background. If I were to compare them both to what I currently know, I believe that Thrawn's military tactics would crush Revan. Thrawn has the unique ability to know what the enemy is thinking. I haven't seen this in Revan's choices or actions. Revan hasn't made choices that delt with the longevity of an Empire. Revan is mostly focused on his longevity, and he could really careless about an army. He will utilize an army to win a war, but he is not concerned with the technics of how one works. Thrawn is motivated by his own longevity, and the longevity of the Empire. Thrawn looks beyond the normal convention of war, and looks at all senerios from every side. Thrawn maybe a non-force user, but he can out think the best of them. He will admit when he is wrong, and he will take action to perfect his agenda. When Thrawn was confronted by Luke, Mara, and C'Boath, he utilized the 'ysamari' to disable their force powers. In the 'Thrawn Trilogy', he took 'ysamari' and planeted them all over his ship, so C'Boath and Mara couldn't harm him. Lol... That military bastard. Thrawn is a military perfectionist.
  13. I am using some sort of Dialouge Editor and KotORTool to look at the stuff that was edited out. There is a lot to go through.
  14. I think you do have to spell it out for me. Lol... Which means that a moderator made the sticky. If ObsidianEnt did publically support the team, they should place a link to their thread on the front page. Lol... Wild Storm - You took my words out of context. If you followed the order of replies, you will realizing that I made a 'What if..." comment. Lol... Hassat Hunter - Oky, before we can continue any further, I need to know who wrote the script for KotOR II. Did LucasArts or ObsidianEnt write the script? If ObsidianEnt wrote the script, your comments would be justified. If LucaArts was involved in writting the script, then there are things that I and you don't see. I thought George Lucas was involved with the writting. "It is called "RESTORATION" for a reason..." - Hassat Too bad they are reverting the game to a previous version of itself. I don't see where people get the word 'Restoration'. Since the final draft was what is released, any other extended story is irellevant.
  15. ^^^^ No problem. Everything seems to be bleeding together. Sorry about that.
  16. It's restoration. Taking what little they are given in the files, make hypothothis about them and putting it back in. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Read the question that I am responding to first. I was answering his question. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I was answering the basic question of your that it's not restoration. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They are still following someone elses draft, so it would be considered stealing someone elses idea. Plagurism.
  17. It's restoration. Taking what little they are given in the files, make hypothothis about them and putting it back in. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Read the question that I am responding to first. I was answering his question. --------------------------- I just noticed that you edited your post. Hehehe... You must have reread the conversation. The question was on: Could 'Team-Gizka' declare thier project as their own original work?" The answer is 'no'. Originally, their work is based upon someone's first draft of the story. In true essence, they would be stealing someone's idea if they call it their own. At the end of the whole project, by bringing back someone elses first draft, they will be altering the story that is in place. Eventhough some of it is canon, the pieces were removed for other reasons besides 'time restraints'. From looking around the forums, I am willing to bet that all the 'cut content' that includes: dialouge, characters, and anything else, will all be altered into another draft. Since 'next generation' consoles use a different engine, I bet they will scrap the original idea inorder to create something different for a third. Thus, the player could visit a HK Factory or Droid Planet. If they decide to use their concepts. If they are not found in KotOR III, they were not relevant to the story.
  18. You really couldn't make that argument either. Since the files were designed by Obsidian, the first draft of the story was designed by LA and Obsidian, they would be considered plagerizing (Stealing someone eles 'original' idea, and repackaging it for their own.). Even though the final draft of the story was changed, they would be considered 'stealing' from someone elses concept'. If they were to take those files and 100% alter them for their own story, they would be coming up with an 'original' idea.
  19. Cool. Thanks. I think I saw a link to it in the modding thread.
  20. Actually, $10 is alot. You forgot about taxes, so the games cost around: $63ish. On the main topic: I am not sure if they are lieing. Technology changes all the time. Wasn't it mentioned by Miscrosoft that they are going to loose money on the XBox 360 in the short term. This could be their way of trying to make some cash back. Personally, I wouldn't buy a console for more than $175. I rather put the cash into a computer purchase. <_<
  21. Actually, it sounds like they planted a RTS into an RPG.
  22. I am going to re-read the article. It sounds like 'KotOR I' built into 'KotOR II' mixed with 'NWN I', and pulled together into one package called 'NWN II'.
