  2. I just wanted to say that I have a newfound passion for this game because of turn based. I understand the history of RTwP, I still play icewind dale, bg, bg2 etc... But the way games are today, in my opinion, turn based is so much better. As many have mentioned, the depth of combat is SO deep in Pillars. You guys did a truly incredible job creating a system from the ground up that works. For me personally as I get deep into the game, combat is just a mess and I just lose track of everything that is going on. In turn based, because of the slower pace I have an excellent sense of everything that is going on. Each buff I cast, followed by attacks I do with that buff, feel much more meaningful. This game feels like it was made to be turn based. With that said, obviously there need to be some tweaks and you have all received a lot of feedback on that. I am not far into my TB game, but I do for see some fights taking a very long time. I wonder if some type of slight HP reduction and increase in base damage, or something that could make it so enemies are still a big threat but die quicker? Not really sure. Also, as many have mentioned, tweaking the system to allow for either multiple attacks or action points or something just so an Arquebus attack isn't the same as a dagger attack. Enemy AI seems to be a fit weird too at times. I have seen them make some "interesting" decisions. My sincere hope is that A) You make Pillars 3, and B) that you dedicate a large focus to it being turn based. If you couldn't do both RTwP and TB, I would hope the focus would go to TB as it just plays so much smoother IMO. Keep up the great work!!!
  3. I am now level 4 and realized that I do not want my level one skill that I chose. But when I go to respec it looks like I am stuck with it. I am guessing that for whatever reason I can't respec it, and wondering if there is some way to mod my game files or do something to change it. I have a build in mind I really want to do! Also I would suggest to Obsidian that they figure out a way to allow a total respec. Even if they don't want to allow you to change your attributes, at least let us change our level 1 skill selection. Thanks!
  4. The only time I used my chanter's skeletons I only got one turn out of them. They each got to move and attack once and then disappeared. Rerolled my chanter to not take that spell. Two turns is debatable, three would be good, one is not good at all.
  5. Definitely want a fleshed out turn based mode. The game's mechanics are so deep they get lost in the insanity of RTWP. If possible keep RTWP to satisfy everyone, but would lovvveeee a really fleshed out turn based.
  6. Just wanted to chime in that I agree with OP. Nothing can top bg2, and I have a hard time figuring out exactly why. I would be a fool to say nostalia has nothing to do with it, but thats definitely not the only reason. I genuinely think overall bg2 is just a better game. And I really like PoE. The magic system in bg2 is super deep and the world is incredible and huge. Story amazing, items amazing, companions are great. And to be honest there is something I kind of love about the lack of balance. Early on in the triology fighters are king, but around the halfway point and on wizards are just significantly stronger. The lack of perfect balance which so many games try to achieve is kind of refreshing. Bg2 just embraces the fact that high level magic reigns supreme and I love it!!! Just started a new game with scs mod installed, going all the way from bg1 to throne of baal and I cant wait!
  7. The description reads as though carnage only does the extra radius damage from "successful melee attacks" but it seems to be doing radius damage with Serafen from his pistols. I was just shooting some barrels and it's doing radius damage to all surrounding barrels as well. Is this intended?
  8. I am at the point in the game where I am starting to craft drugs, food etc. It really annoys me that it doesn't show the exact effects of items you want to make. It just gives a general idea of what they do. For example "Taru Taru Chew" provides a "boost of energy". But what does that mean? I don't want to craft each item in order to figure out the exact effects, then reload my game if it is something I don't want. Please make it so we can know exactly what crafted potions, scrolls, food etc do, rather than a general idea.
  9. And then when I make a drug, it isn't showing up in my inventory. Something seems off.
  10. How come when I go to craft Drugs, it just lists what I can make, but it does not show what those drugs do. Am I missing something? I can make all this different stuff but there is no description on the effects.
  11. Just want to say that I think this game is amazing. I played a little before 1.1 but wanted to wait until PoTD was tuned. Game is absolutely fantastic. You guys have done an amazing job and it is important that you know that!
  12. So I am getting absolutely shat on in this fight. I just have Me (barbarian/ranger) Eder (Swashbuckler) and Xoti (Priest) all level 3. Am I too low? Do I need to buy a new party member?
  13. Looks like the cause of this was having my AI on "active". I didn't edit any AI behavior, but when it was set to "active" it was double casting marked prey. When I set the AI to auto attack, it no longer did this.
  14. It actually appears that it is just doing this for marked prey. It is seemingly activating the ability twice automatically. It shows my character name "activating marked prey" then "affecting the creature with marked prey" and it just does this twice in a row when I cast it, using up 2 bond instantly. I thought it did the same for my summoned animal, but I can't seem to replicate that one right now. My character is a ranger/barbarian.
  15. What is best ranger companion for PoTD? I think bear or boar? Bear for armor or Boar for healing? Can you change animal companion later in game?
  16. I am currently using beta patch 1.1, and anytime I cast a ranger abilitiy (marked target or animal companion from ghostheart) it is costing me 2 bond instead of 1. Is this a bug? Each of those abilities say they cost 1.
  17. 2 AP is always good, Getting 2 Armor for free means you can drop to lighter armor. Devil of Caroc Breastplate can get rid of the debuff, as can Svef. Theres also an amulet (i think) that increases buff duration by 35% How does the devil of caroc armor get rid of the debuff? I looked at it online it looks like it just has -20% recovery time and "+2 max power pool" (whatever that means?)
  18. I am intrigued by the ranged berserker idea. I kinda hate this confusion affliction though, because I feel I have to spend so many points in INT just so it doesn't drop my int to like 5, which would crush my frenzy duration. What are your suggestions for stat allocation? And since Frenzy doesn't add the 30% of hits converted to Crits on ranged weapons, is it worth it simply for the +2 armor penetration and +2 armor rating bonuses?
  19. When I try to load PoE2 with beta, the game just crashes. Weird because I downloaded beta patch yesterday and it worked fine. Any suggestions?
  20. I am looking to make a ranged scout. Does sneak attack work while ranged? If so, from how far? Also, do things like wounding shot and blinding strike work from range? Thanks
  21. Hello guys, Once 1.1 is fully out I plan on doing some type of ranged rogue build. Is Rogue/Ranger an effective combo? After the changes in 1.1 what ranged DPS builds would you recommend? I suppose it doesn't have to include Rogue, but I do like using a rogue. Looking to use guns or bows. Have some decent DPS and some cool abilities. Would love to hear suggestions!
  22. Is there any word on FPS drop fixes? I have a GTX 1080, i7 7700k, which can run any game on ultra. But when I cast Mirror Image in this game I get virtually unplayable FPS. I go down from 60 to 10-15. Please fix this! Ruins my game, and I understand many other people have a similar issue.
  23. Hey everyone, I am waiting for the new patch to balance difficulty then I plan on making a ranged cipher build. I want to do some sort of glass cannon cipher who can do some good damage and have some cool abilities. I am sure there are threads on this, but what are some powerful choices?
