  1. Backed this too, am still not sure they needed to have a zombie setting to do what they want to do, just about any other setting would have been so much more interesting, but what the heck, the rest looks good.
  2. Just discovered I get 900 ping on my superfast Korean internet for some reason, maybe the US servers? :rage:
  3. It could be an edited series, then you guys could have your own little stand-by stall thing in bookstores, like those softcore books, what d'you call them, Mills & Boon. Settled into my apartment for next 2 years in the heart of Seoul, all very nice but this insistence with apartments really kills you in the summer heat.
  4. Great, we can do some Nephalem Valor runs. Or try inferno and die in an inferno. My barb is 49 and it's annoying trying to get him up to 50 to get into hell, so you'll have the belt for a while longer.
  5. Saw Slavoj Zizek. Entertaining if nothing else.
  6. 60DH finally cleared Inferno butcher with help from a friend, despite the fact that as soon as combat started, the butcher charged and killed me in one hit. Attaboy. Now servers down. :rage:
  7. Now in Seoul, sorting through phone, house, jetlag, etc. Will see Great Celebrity Man Slavoj Zizek tomorrow.
  8. Pretty much, though I really liked that part of MTW1 & 2. It comes with the era as well, I suppose, but then, Empire really should have made some major changes to the way the battle model works to reflect the changes in warfare by that time period. They didn't, they just reskinned RTW and called it a day, which is why you just had 20 different types of musketmen shooting it out and the AI that still acts like they are longbowmen. RTR was quite an effective mod, in that it acutally changed your experience quite a lot at fundamental levels. The levy limits helped as well. I bought MTW2 on a Steam sale just to wait for Europa Barbarorum 2, also - those guys did some great stuff.
  9. I will swear by Medieval 1, but Rome was a very loveable game even despite its many many problems. I never had quite as much fun with any of the later incarnates. Like a sucker I'm still going to read the info on a Rome II, they did work a lot to try and fix long-term issues in Shogun 2.
  10. I don't know how you people remember, but I was 7 and I didn't really know anything. All I remember is Win 95 came out that year, but I was still mainly doing stuff in DOS (since a lot of games were in DOS). Scorched Earth, I remember was one of the early favourites, as well as SkiFree.
  11. Not seen the video yet, but in Paris my friend had one of those vacuum cleaners that go around cleaning the room on their own, automatically avoiding all obstacles with ease... except their own cable. fun times.
  12. Your point still stands, but is +5000 euros a month really 'middle class' where you are? Curious if people would really consider that typical in any way.
  13. The Battle of the Games continues. Today the Last Express is only $2.40, and it looks like Jagged Alliance 2 will win tomorrow, putting it at $4. I already have JA2, but I picked up Myst for $2.40 before and I'll probably pick up the Last Express too. Gogogo!
  14. Finally found a decent legendary, Ageless Might, a barbarian (!) belt with 216 str, 43 int, 80 vit, 12 all res, couple others. But 19k repair costs for full break means inferno act 1 is really a gold drainer. Monte, if you want it I'm happy to lend it to you, just give it back when my barb gets to that level (which won't be for a week at least I think). But Paris-Seoul plane in 12 hours so then incognito for 2 days.
  15. Yeah, I'd love to get my hands on one of those. I finally found my first legendary item after nearly 100 hours - a deplorably crap belt that gives something like +15 strength, etc. The Witching Hour. Still using it on the barb, out of 'affection'. LC your items seem either on the same level as my DH's, or a tier above (esp. the amulet) - so if what you say is true there's only a little farther my character can go, unless Nephalem Valor runs start really producing.
  16. Level 30 barb now in nightmare, I look forward (?) to finding out in person about that. But then, I'm the worst person in the world at tanking, since my demon hunter vaults into enemies all the time.
  17. Inferno is still too insane for my demon hunter, so I'm building up my level 18 barbarian. Mowing down Act 2 with some cheap AH gear, because I want him to get to Nightmare ASAP.
  18. Ain't just the western world anymore. Today I made the momentous decision that no, I won't go to the Eiffel Tower while I'm here in Paris. Maybe next time.
  19. Nearly never use them, but yeah, that's a big bug, I expect a hotfix. I guess I'll check it out tomorrow or so, see what's changed.
  20. Haven't touched it for a few days since getting into Inferno, I should give Nephalem Valor more of a chance to see whether the drops are fun, but Inferno seems the frustrating kind of difficulty at the moment, and none of my 15 friends seem to be on much. No idea if that's a coincidence thing or if they are growing off it.
  21. Today I picked up my first fountain pen, a modest bottle-fill Pelikan. I look forward to the :monocle: of dipping my pen in ink.
  22. The Chinese? There's a $1 transaction fee (15% on commodities), then an additional 15% or thereabouts that is taken away to convert your earnings into real money via PayPal. Othewise, you get paid fake money that you can only use in D3 - even if the buyer used real money to pay. So if you got $10 for something, which would take a rather substantial item, you'd get about $7.50 back. The idea of AH is deplorable to me, so I don't care.
  23. I agree - I think the combat and other features are as good as or nearly as good as Diablo 2, and the lack of randomisedl evels for example isn't a huge deal; but what really kills is this loot system. I mean, Diablo 2 was all about loot. And you screw up the loot system. :/
  24. Dex & MF & x is way too specific; I'd start with one qualifier (e.g. Dex + 50) and go from there. You also need to think about 'naturally occuring combinations'. e.g. it makes sense to search for rings with +Dex and +MF, or +Dex and +AS, because those two occur 'naturally' as blue items - one is a prefix, another a suffix. But if you search for Dex + MF + Vit, or Fire Res + All Res (i think), then it will only show you rares or legendaries, because such combinations may not happen in magical ringsx. But yes, it's easy to be ripped off.
  25. I tend to play like a homicidal maniac. Usually my only way of healing myself is to turn on Shadow thingy, tumble into the middle of as many enemies as possible, use fan of knives, then tumble out again. Giftd, I've never had more than 100k at any given time because I keep spending it - for 50k or less you can get things like 900dps weapons; and since I'm now upgrading to Hell/Inferno life, it's been useful to get armour pieces like +75 dex +75 all res. I should save up now, though, and try to get the really good stuff. Just wish drops were more exciting.
