  1. Ouch. That's that. The game automatically unchecked the options. Don't know why. Thank you
  2. I don't know if it has been reported yet, I can't find that. I'm in Defiance Bay and I just realize that the area of effects of the spells (for both Aloth and Durance) so not show anymore. Any idea?
  3. I made it with main character, Eder, Durance and Aloth lvl4 and one fighter lvl3. Normal difficulty. I think it depends also of the options you take in your quest. One is easier, with much less fights, than the other.
  4. So the world is simple. It's trolls vs fanboys. How cool. I did not back the game, I played BG in 98, and replayed BG, BG2, IWD IWD2 last year, and to me, PoE is so far (about 30 hours and 2 parties) the best of the series. The game asks for some implements, right, we agree, but is already fekin good. Seriously, I'm a big fan of BG and D&D in general (I played D&D and pen and paper RPG for 25 years) and I find PoE amazingly good. Am I a fanboy? an idiot? Most of the critics I read are like compliment to me : - "It sucks, we can't buff before combat !" : I say, that's great - "it sucks, we can't rest for 8 hours every ten minutes !": I say, that's great - "it sucks, paladins are not like D&D archetype !" : same - "it sucks, it's different and I can't apply my old BG routines !" etc, etc, etc. I like how the combat works, I like all the tactical decisions you have to make to survive one or two dungeon level before rest etc. Great fun, pretty immersive. I understand that some can dislike the game and his changes, but I barely understand the critics like "your system sucks", "it's broken", "it's idiot", etc. It's not
  5. 1- The main character is always the spokesman. It would be good (in matter of roleplay and gaming tactic) to be able to change that according to the circonstances. 2- Different colors for the circles under the party members 3- more banter from the party members (I miss Quayle, Kagain, Minsc..)
  6. BG1 EE is IMO the best. Low level adventures are fun, NPCs are quite fun and appealing. The world is full of life and more opened than in BG2 and the story is less linear. The fights are more tactical and fun than in BG2 (IMHO). I cn't say so far about Pillars, but it seems to me it's close to BG1.
  7. Reading this thread, it's like if some believe that D&D invented the name "paladin". I see paladins in PoE like templars or teutonic knights. An order of dedicated warriors/knights.
  8. It could have been better IMO if we could use any member of the team to talk instead of having always the main character.
  9. I agree. PoE combats are better (for me) than in BG. They need more adaptation, decisions, taking opportunities etc. You have to ask when trigger such abiliie/spell, find the right moment, the right position etc... I am a big fan of BG but the fights were a bit too much "you know the routine, apply". I also really like how it handles the moves in combat. Try to disengage at the wrong moment and you're immediatly punished. You have to fight the ennemies but also to fight the inherent chos of the battle. It works pretty well for me.
  10. Exactly. Most of the complaints I read about the RPG system seem to be like "it's not like in D&D". That and the fact that the game asks for choices and decisions.
