  1. I've noticed that we've gotten two notifications, one for experience the party was given and one for total quest experience. I had been assuming that when total was larger, it meant that we'd gotten some experience for that quest earlier in the quest line, but I haven't been keeping careful track, so I don't know for sure.
  2. I haven't done it, but in another thread, people reported that absorbing Maerwald allowed the player access to a room that you can't get into in any other way. They said the room had some gloves and a sword in it.
  3. So far I've only seen Eder's banter about the fox, but I loved how he knew he shouldn't pet the fox, but it was so fluffy that he just had to. Awwww! I've also enjoyed the party banter where Aloth says "At least we're out of that mudhole, Gilded Vale," and Eder says, "I grew up in that mudhole," and Aloth says, "Quaint. I meant to say that it was 'quaint,'" and Eder says, "You were right the first time."
  4. You can use console commands to rest without supplies. It's cheating, but it might be better than having to either abandon the game or start over. See http://rien-ici.com/iemod/console/ for details.
  5. what email? I got an e-mail from GOG, but it may be because I bought Baldur's Gate from them; I don't know if they mailed everyone on their list or just known buyers of classic RPG's.
  6. I learned about the game when GOG sent me an e-mail telling me that it was out. This is the sort of game I adore, and I wish I'd known about the Kickstarter campaign. I'm glad to know about it now, though! Planescape: Torment is my second-favorite game ever (after the FIRST Witcher game), and I'm thrilled to see a fresh, new take on the old, classic game. I'm a middle-aged woman, so I like turn-based games; they repay middle-aged insight without penalizing middle-aged reflexes.
  7. Do you know about the IE Mod? It does most of what you want. You can find out more about it here: http://rien-ici.com/iemod/
  8. You don't CLICK on your character, you type in the NAME of the character you want to respec. The in-game name is different than the one the player sees, but the name for your own character is easy; it's "player." If you want to respec any of the companions, use the FindCharacter command and their call name. For example, "FindCharacter Aloth" tells us that his in-game name is "Companion_Aloth(Clone)_#" where # is Aloth's current level. You can find more information at http://rien-ici.com/iemod/console/
  9. And there's a priest, Durance, in Magran's Fork. He's a reasonable fighter AND has a lot of spells that help the party recover Endurance during battle, so if you're having trouble surviving, he'd be a good one to pick up.
  10. My character is a good person, and she chose to free Maerwald's soul. The player was tempted to go for Option 3, but the character managed to prevail. I love the way that games like this bring you face-to-face with yourself and make you think about what you value. For me, there's no sword or pair of gloves that's as valuable as doing the right thing by Maerwald's tortured soul ... though it was a harder choice than I wish it had been.
  11. Well, but RP reasons matter to me. As I said, my character is a paladin of the Kind Wayfarers; Benevolence is her whole reason for taking up arms. She LIKES keeping bloodshed to a minimum.
  12. I'd also love to know the answer to this question.
  13. Yes, it was the acolyte on the same floor who turned hostile. It's not that the robes worked on the same floor and then stopped later; they never worked AT ALL.
  14. I'm having the same problem. We didn't come into contact with any of the priests, and we put on the robes. We also unequipped all of our weapons. The first acolyte we saw still turned hostile. So I restored from save and unequipped EVERYTHING -- all of our boots and stuff in addtion to the armor, all of our quick-slot items, the mage's grimoire, everything. We were wearing nothing but robes, and the first guy we saw still attacked us. We have Durance with us, so I tried leaving him back in the room where we found the robes, in case he was known to be a priest of a rival god or something. But that didn't help, either. I ended up slaughtering a bunch of priests, but I didn't WANT to. My character is a paladin of the Kind Wayfarers, and she likes being Benevolent, damn it!
