Yeah the mid/late game wizard should be very good but the early not worth i think. I have no idea what they did on Mind Blade so let wait and see. As a matter of fact, wizards in PoE actually start off very strong, what with their fan of fire dealing 70+ damage, or their ability to use bows and suchlike. Allow me to compare your PoE wizard with a BG1 AD&D wizard. Your BG1 wizard starts with a grand total of 4 hp, 3 level 1 spells known, 2 casts per rest. Your standard Magic Missile spell starts at a single missile dealing 1d4+1 damage. At this rate, even a stray cat could kill you. Although, if you were smart, you set his constitution at 16 so to be fair, your wizard would actually have 6hp , that's a 50% increase. With a whopping six hit points I'm not sure a cat would be able to kill you outright... a dog now... I wouldn't hold my breath bro, hope you're good with that sling ! Your level 1 wizard can get killed in the first minute of BG1, when you enter a house just to be assaulted by an assassin and his trusty dagger. A dagger deals 1d4 damage + the strength modifier. Just the one unlucky crit (1/20 chance) or regular hit that does 4 damage (1/4 chance, discounting any STR bonus) and you're restarting the game. That is how a weak wizard starts, not with spells that : - can crit - can slow the attack rate of a whole group - can deal over 70 damage as an AoE So my friend, we will have to agree to disagree here. Wizards start off very, very, very strong in PoE when compared to a whole array of DnD games (BG series, IWD series, NWN series...), in my opinion. I'm not sure why u talk about Baldur's gate when Baldur'sd gate have DnD Rules and the system they employ here is not based on DnD rule but it's their own rule set. It's heavily based on timing, control and interrupts + disengage. Also, i'm playing Path of the Damned and never you will do 70 dmg ( even on crit ) with Fan of Flame.If the mobs attack youre wizard ( you pause and click away to run ) (because you don't want him to tank) and Boom he die because the disengage killed him . In Baldur's gate you're weak mage can run if he want to. You have to Agree or Disagree here.

WHo the **** would use cheat/trick while playing Trial of Iron ???? If you enable Iron mode it's for a personal challenge, if you want to beat the game with cheat/trick fine do it but you're not a hardcore player.

There is any fixe for the < Long time waiting > for saving after act3 ? It took me 10-20 sec per Save after act3 and i need 0.5 sec early in act1.... I have a Gaming Computer.

Freakin' why? The monk is an already very powerful class. Actually Barb is way more powerfull than Monk, so if monk is very powerfull i wonder what Barb is atm.... I tryed a MOnk lvl 12 it does like 5-10 per hit I used mine as a tank. I didn't use him for damage. I'm not sure why you would tank with a Monk when you can Use a Paladin and a Fighter with special ability to tank... Most of Monk ability/skill are offensive one and we dont need dps for a tank. So i'm not sure what you mean by powerfull.

So Wizard and Cipher is not really a good class to start anymore. Did they fixed the time for saving late game ? I need 20 second for a quicksave after act3 i got a gaming computer.

What about Mind Blades, it was one of the best skill for Cipher, they nerfed the dps ? Wizard and Cipher seen to be worthless early in the game. Any suggestion for other good spell ?

So if i'm right we have to wait lvl 7-8 to creat a Wizzard ?

( SPOILER ) The game is still pretty easy at the place you are. If you want challenge, go more depth in you're stronghold. I finished the game 2 days ago in Path of the Damned at lvl 10. The best challenge i have meet was to kill the Boss in Floor 8 at lvl 6 ( needed about 6 hour to kill it ) and the final boss of the game at lvl 10. ( needed 2 hour ) SO yeah if you want challenge, do thing while you are under level. I wait for the patch to remake a game with Iron mode.

I finished the game 2 days ago at Path of the Damned at lvl 10. This game have no difficulty when u have the good item / setting. I sugges you to use a ( Tank ) in front with a priest, just read the spell. For the priest you can use the first spell of the second skill and rest in inn when youre out of spell. I hope you don't use a Wizzard for tank in front... Sorry for my english

Hello, can we know if the patch will be today or tomorrow or early in next week ? Since we don't have any serious news from now, i doubt that the release of this patch is still for this week. ( If this week mean last days of the week..... )

I just finished the game on Path of the Damned. My team was lvl 11 and 10. I Expected more challenge from this mode. I'm waiting for this patch for a new game On Path of the Damned - Iron mode.

I still don't understand how we don't have any news from Dev at all from 24 hour. I'm playing Path of the damned and i'm not going to use cheat. You have no idea how hard is it to kill the King in this mode. This game is really nice but it need lots of Hotfix, You can see the bug and unbalanced thing in path of the damned more than other difficulty. DR unbalanced for spider and maybe more mobs / some weak spell ( useless in this mode ) Disengaging system is wierd. I'm still testing it but since i'm stuck in the Raedric Hold, i can't tell if anything else is broken or subject to need a balanced fix. I'm disapointed that we don't have any comment from A Dev from now. It's a important Bug that occur a Quick HotFix for the health of the community. I'm not going to wait all week-end. I don't speak english very well sorry.

I don't play Chanter rogue or Cleric, this is a Loading FIle probleme from Data we need a Hotfix and an answer from Dev. We need to know when we will be able to play this game again.

Same here i'm stuck in this Area impossible to leave, impossible to continus, why Dev not answering ? IT's a Shame. I'm in vacation to play this game and i'm stuck already.
