Really enjoying Jessica Jones. It barely feels like a Marvel show - much darker.

See? It's just a case of all human beings screwing over all other human beings. Before the pope grabbed his slaves it was the pharaohs. I was going to say something like "does Egypt need to pay reparations" but... I'm now too depressed and sad for humanity to do it.

Couple of things: What do you mean, get pay back? Because the Netherlands has often paid much in reparations for things done in our history. Did you study "Western" history? Because I didn't. I studied the parts that were relevant to my country because that's what they put in the history books in school. I studied part of Indonesian history because that's intertwined with dutch history. I studied part of US history because they affected WWII, which in turn affected dutch history. You mentioned the crusaders, but do you know that those crazy catholics killed the dutch for religious reasons as much as they killed muslims? Why are muslims and "the east" more deserving of recognition and reparation for that when the same thing happened to us? Your countries were seperated? My country used to be the Hasburg Netherlands until those same catholics went to war with us and now my country has become Belgium, Luxemborough, parts of Austria, parts of Germany, France. Because of religious persecution perpetrated by the catholics against the protestants. What you call the west isn't a geographical thing, it's a then-contemporary religious society that screwed us all over too. Like Chilloutman said, they screwed over Poland and the slavs. They screwed over Africa - Apartheid is a much more recent atrocity than anything that happened to your countries. Why do you think East Asia is special in this regard? Here's what I think: You want reparations because right now, the west is top dog and that grinds your and people's gears because they could have been born in a place where they were top dog. It's the same that people consider it unfair that someone is born to rich parents - it's unfair that they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They didn't deserve it, they just got served a better hand by history. But "someone" has to pay? For what? For life being unfair? Ask whichever God you worship to settle that score. Who has to pay who? Nobody who did or was directly affected by this stuff is even still alive. Even if there was someone who should pay, there's nobody who it should be paid to.

That's not the point. I understand what the past leads to. That doesn't mean I respect anyone who wants to punish today's people for the actions of people who are long dead and they had no effect or control over. I'm Dutch. I don't approve of what the Dutch East India Trading Company did. Doesn't mean I'm responsible for what they did. Blaming today's West for that is just living in the past - a complete delusion.

I know what I would call them. Dead. Ancient history. Certainly not today's "West".

Missed this one. Closed for length. Someone can make a new one if they want, the topic is not off-limits.

What the heck is this thread even about anymore? Closed for length and being entirely derailed. Someone can make another thread on the European Refugee Crisis as long as it holds to the forum guidelines?

It seems to be healing fine, thanks for asking.

You're talking about irrelevancy in the grand scheme of things while participating on the forum of a company that makes video games. None of this place is ever going to relevant in the grand scheme of things so you might as well give up now.

Apparently standing up to SJW pressure is good for business

Someone cut me open and stitched me back up on friday and kept me captive until last night. Not feeling too great. Got my deviated septum undeviated - so there's that, but there's stuff in my nose that I don't want to describe lest any of you are eating.

Or maybe Light Side people know when it's time to let go and Dark Side people will claw and scratch their way back using only their hate and dark side connection? It fits.

Can't blame Clone Wars for that. Comic books made that canon already a multitude of YEARS before they were even working on Clone Wars (and the same applies to Boba Fett). Side note: Clone Wars happened BEFORE Disney purchased LucasFilm as well - Disney had more to do with canceling the show than it did with making it. Rebels is their brainchild. No matter, they should just scrap that idea, you see Qui Gon only got stabbed and he's dead, why would Darth Maul who got cut into two survived and having robotic lower body, it's nonsense. That's what happen when there are too many cooks, it spoiled the broth. I feel that line applies very poorly to Star Wars, since the original movies were a mostly collaborative effort and were awesome yet the prequels were Lucas' lonely brainchild and are essentially awful in most respects.

Starts out mediocre but gets better as the show progresses. Turns Vader back into the badass he used to be as he kicks butt without even trying.

Clone Wars was better than the prequels by a margin so huge it's not even funny.

Didn't he retire from the Batman universe because of the toll it took on his voice?

Mark Hamill lost 100 lbs and grew 2 feet taller if he's Kylo Ren.
