I didn't like Mad Max at all. Everyone goes crazy for it but I couldn't take any of the villains seriously as a threat and as such it had zero tension. I was checking my watch and yawning throughout the entire thing.

What are you talking about? I saw all four Jurassic Park movies in cinemas and even the abysmal third installment was succesful financially.
-
Ant Man was without a doubt the best micro movie since Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Jurassic World was the best money-making machine this year.

Not at all. I never consider the cost of a movie when I'm watching it, just how much I enjoyed it. Worrying about the cost-effectiveness of a subjective thing like film is for insipid armchair producers who just need to find any reason to whine about on the internet. EDIT: That may sound a little harsh, but consider this - what other metrics do you have for "cost-effectiveness" that matter to you? So far Star Wars is holding at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and had the biggest "opening preview night" of all time. Jurassic World was a "barely servicable remake" and is the highest grossing movie of the year and holds a favourable Fresh rating as well, and two Transformers films made over a billion in the last couple of years. Avatar was a barely servicable space Pocahontas movie, but it's the highest grossing movie of all time and holds and 83% rating. What does a budget influence? How much gets pumped into special effects and marketing. It doesn't make a director or writer better and those don't cost that much. So the only thing I can really judge money-wise is "did I enjoy the movie enough to justify buying the ticket" and the answer for Star Wars is a resounding yes. It was perfectly servicable remake of a good movie. That equates to a good movie, one I enjoyed at least. Am I little disappointed it took very few chances? Yes. But that only puts a damper on what was otherwise a very enjoyable experience for me.

Saw it last night and the Star Wars remake was perfectly servicable. It was good, I had a lot of fun, but I don't think it ever approached true blockbuster greatness. It's my third favourite remake pretending to be a sequel this year, preceded by Jurassic Park and Mad Max Road Warrior. Those listings are not a mark of quality mind you, but a mark of how much I enjoyed them. But anyone expecting a bad remake like Terminator was can rest easy, because this one was good. I think you missed a step there because Poe completely calls him out on that bull**** line. He needed a pilot because he wanted to run himself. And in fact he keeps getting scared and trying to run, and consistently seems to be cursing his conscience. EDIT: So was anyone else bothered by the fact that we pretty much know as much about Max von Sydow's character and Supreme Leader Snoke as we did before the movie? I never bought into the First Order having someone truly powerful in the Force at their back because Snoke did nothing but react to stuff going bad for his side, he was not a driving factor. And Max von Sydow was barely a cameo and I don't even know his character's name.

You can make a new one, I closed it for length. I hope you won't though.

Jimmy Carr is somehow classy and ruthless at the same time.

Don't ask me why, but this one always speaks to me. Antigonish by Hughes Mearns Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today, I wish, I wish he'd go away... When I came home last night at three, The man was waiting there for me But when I looked around the hall, I couldn't see him there at all! Go away, go away, don't you come back any more! Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door... Last night I saw upon the stair, A little man who wasn't there, He wasn't there again today Oh, how I wish he'd go away...

The plot feels a lot like the plot to X2, what with a mind controlling mutant forcing Xavier to use Cerebro to affect all Mutants? It's control and not kill this time, but still...

Something about him got under my skin. Coulson totally crushed it this episode, though.

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/05/europe/london-tube-stabbings/index.html 3 people stabbed, nobody died, in what police are treating as a terrorist incident in the London underground. If only there had been a good guy with a gun to prevent this atrocity - this is why gun laws are bad.

Judging by our roster I'm not entirely convinced of that.

I don't get this obsession with alts this board has, but in my experience almost every single time they end up telling the truth. Unless people are going through a lot of technical trouble to troll, they're unlikely to be alts of each other because we have access to IPs and do check if we suspect there are alts trolling. That being said, pretty sure that's not what this thread is about - discussing other posters will continue to be frowned upon here and I'm getting a bit irritated at how many threads devolve into who is or isn't a troll. We always say "tackle the ball, not the player" and if you don't like the other children playing the game there's no obligation to keep playing it, but if you try to kick them in the shins we'll give you a paddlin'. With that derailment, this thread is closed.

I'd argue that the west didn't become as prosperous and scientifically advanced as it is until it started entirely ignoring stupid fairytales, but that's just me.
-
How is the west responsible for the insane bull**** your get taught about English by your own people? The west doesn't even care you exist, let alone what you're taught. These views come from the east.
-
So you've based your entire view of the west on the lies you've been fed and you complain about western education?
-
But don't tell PETA, because they'll break in and name all the cows.
-
Maybe it is time for some self-reflection... or maybe it's time to get back on ****ing topic?
-
Some people in the west still think Canada is nothing but snowy cabins, lumberjacks and polar bears. How do you think even less educated people from poor, war-torn nations perceive it?
-
If you're referring to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer, it appears that Lex took Zod's body and made Doomsday out of it. What? That Cave Troll from Fellowship of the Ring is supposed to be Doomsday!? I thought they just turned Zod's corpse into a random monster!
-
Did you try yelling "it's a trap" at it?
-
Well, a friend of mine has the BB-8 toy and I saw that even when it stands still it can still look around and make noises. It doesn't require that much space to enjoy its personality, which it somehow has more of than most people despite being a tiny ball that makes noises. Nothing is really wrong, just recovering from surgery to correct my deviated septum and getting a little frustrated from the after effects.

If you think it's that sad that it won't get used, I can give it a loving home. On a side note, it sucks to bend over and pet your cat out of habit and your nose starts bleeding. I'm not allowed to bend over, I'm not allowed to run or lift anything heavier than a few pounds. It sucks!

For someone who is supposed to be the lead villain of Legends of Tomorrow, that villain is the quality of a bad villain of the week role so far. Bad vibes. He seems less arch-nemesis and more Kraven the Hunter shows up to find his prey in a filler episode.
