  1. Well, here's one person who worked there for half a year saying that it's not nearly that bad. While there is plenty of cannabis, it's concentrated in little shops, and I didn't see any hookers in half a year.
  2. I saw the regular version yesterday, what did I miss?
  3. I've never been to London, but everyone I know whose ever been there has urged me not to follow in their footsteps, and that's quite a lot of people.
  4. Had some time to kill at work waiting for other people to make the stuff I needed ready, googled Mr. T. Lots of fun stuff there.
  5. I am not nearly smart enough to read this and understand it properly. But it sounds pretty impressive!
  6. Like, for free? Diablo 3. Elder Scrolls games end up in bargain bins pretty soon, don't they? Yet I still see Diablo games for pretty normal game prices? I got Oblivion for like 5
  7. I am still thinking of what to get my girlfriend for our third year being-a-couple anniversary. It is hard!
  8. I don't know. I suspect in today's society it will mostly rely on what information the media and the internet will turn popular. If the news only reports things like, say, a mutant killed twenty people, even if there was no proof at all, I think the negative thoughts in people's minds will reach critical mass pretty fast.
  9. This. How's your unelected, rich-as-**** monarch doing? Oh man. Holland has the same thing, and I just want to get rid of them.
  10. Still, you're doing pretty good. Good luck, Wals! I walked into a door handle two days ago and I haven't done excercising since because my hip hurts like ****all now. Such a lame reason for limping, walking into a door handle.
  11. So apparently New Moon broke a lot of Dark Knight's records. This annoys me, because it's like 90% female driven. This means studios will be looking at more franchises to market entirely to women, and less for my beautiful explody blockbusters.
  12. I never expected to see the words "weeping" and "orifice" so close together. Not today, anyway. EDIT: Weeping Orifice is a killer rock band name though.
  13. Easy for you to say. You're funny!
  14. I misread that as "half an infant strapped to my temples" and when I realized that's not what it said I was disappointed.
  15. I read a lot of his posts, but all I usually remember is "HA! Good fun!".
  16. I just drew a coffee cup for work. Yay for intellectual stimulation.

The more basic concept is, more or less but not quite, what if all the immigrants that went to America took their Gods with them, and they're in the New World struggling to survive just as much as anyone else?
  18. I also nominate Gorgon, whose Paul-Reiser-Playing-The-Devil-In-Aliens avatar is just something that connects with Obsidian in my brain now.

In what way? I mean I could say it's about the power of belief and also about it's weaknesses, but that would just be a one line desciption that could in itself mean anything. It's about the meaning of being alive, and how that meaning is what you give it. But what does *that* mean? I'm not sure what kind of answer you're looking for. It's certainly about a lot of things, and it certainly gives you a lot to think about. (Although I must confess somewhere in the middle I thought it was a warning against trusting technology, a supposition* that fell apart somewhere right before the climax when I realized it had only been made to look like that. I was quite amused that Mr. Gaiman seemed to have played me as much as Mr. Wednesday played Shadow.) I meant more in a visual way. I'm keen on visualising things (I am an animator after all) and I felt a little disappointed that he didn't go all out with the weirdness. Like the mechanical spider "backstage" that you never really hear from again. *English is my second language and I'm not sure if I'm using this word correctly.

I just finished American Gods. Finally, damn I'm a slow reader. And damn, that's a good story. Although I did feel that he could have done more with the concept when I got to the end. Next, Neverwhere.
  21. I also nominate Kaftan Barlast and mkreku. And those guys who look exactly the same and always post at almost exactly the same time.
  22. Maybe you needed to sit down? Turns out she has swine flu and was pretty delirious. Sucks for her, but I sure laughed at the message.
  23. Just got a text message from an old high school friend of mine: "I had a dream about you tonight. You were in a wheelchair and I was SOOOO sorry!"
  24. I'll be sure to look it up, although Wals' comment about back problems makes me a bit apprehensive. Thanks for the tips!
