They actually showed this bit on TV here once, as a "make fun of the fat nerd" thing. I'm going to ruin it a bit though, if anyone doesn't know what the real funny thing about this actually is: This is a pretty famous YouTuber (Boogie2988) and the angry fat nerd "Francis" is a character that he plays. He's super nice and laid back, one of the kindest and most respectful people on the internet. As for the treadmill, this guy's actually lost a lot of weight. He was even larger before (as far as I know, he was raised by a single mother who was also a schizophrenic or something and he coped with eating) and got around in one of those carts for people who can't walk, because he really couldn't. Seeing his progress is actually pretty awesome and inspiring.

Journalism and sexism in the games industry

So PC Gamer has been removing comments regarding that journalist whose girlfriend works at Ubisoft thing. Does nobody in games journalism know what the Streisand Effect is? They just blew that up. -
Here's some more. What programs did you use?

I saw that one but it didn't do much for me. It felt slow. I liked the ideas and the acting and the campy feel but not enough happened in it.

And then there's that moment when your name is called at a doctor's office or city hall waiting room and you get confused for a minute because that other name sounds familiar. Oh wait, that's me!- 488 replies

Nice anatomy. Is it all sculpted or did you model it first? How's your topology? I'm not much of a modeler/sculpter myself, that'd probably take me a lot longer than a day. I'm much more effective at makin' 'em move. Damn that sucks, but at least you're getting better. Get well soon, man.

Being removed from social group identities by pointing out how they are different. Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Ableist is being prejudiced against people who are disabled.

It's more of a burden, really.

It's not like I keep links around of weird crap I've seen, but I recall a memorable occassion where I was called a bigot because I told someone who was cutting their skin to seek help. Apparently he was just molting. -_-'

Honestly most of the stuff you've posted is pretty mild.

Are they BW target audience? There is a lot of BW fan fiction. But what you guys are looking at is the birth place of slash fiction.
-
Wait, all of you have been on the internet for a decent stretch of time. How on earth are you surprised by this? That website is as infamous as 4chan and consistently causes problems with copyright laws.

Hiss! The Pit of Voles! That cursed place where female fan fiction writers write solely about how all female characters get murdered to make way for every male character being in love with / seduced by / endures sexual abuse from every other male character! Seriously, don't go there.

Hey, I'm a venatorromantic venus flytrap-kin, remember. You have huge privelege. (Was that what I said in the other thread? I think it was.)

I have to admit, whenever I see people seriously speaking about identifying as dog or a cat or a faerie or even a bloody houseplant, I feel like I'm in the mouth of madness.

I don't mind social justice warrior as a term but it's odd to me that it's an insult. I'd say social justice is an admirable thing to fight for as long as you do it intelligently. I prefer to call the extremists, well, extremists. Zealots, hypocrits, fascists, etc. but I suppose I've given up on that considering the amount of times I've used the term here (since everyone else uses it and it's very easy to type SJW) but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Probably regarding how many times it's been used on me. I sometimes do get very invested in what I believe in, but I'm hardly some paragon of social justice that will take away freedom of speech for the right to be "comfortable".

Hold on. Can anyone explain this to me? They DDoS'd the board that hosts Baphomet, so Baphomet retaliates, and somehow it's GamerGate's fault? -
I DEMAND DISCLOSURE RAAAAAAGH. This is about ethics in... parody journalism. Oh god this was a terrible idea I should have gone to sleep.
-
I'd read it. But I've been up for 24 hours because I'm skipping sleep to fix my sleep schedule and I've written a 50 page document about getting over my depression for my therapist while watching Thor 2, Captain America 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Taken and Scott Pilgrim vs The World and my eyeballs hurt despite the fact that I'm still not tired (I didn't even have any ****ing coffee) and I'm very seriously considering using this service http://www.99dollarorchestra.com/#intro so I don't know if I'm the best judge right now.

It's been this way for the entire duration. -

Although Jostiq (and others) removing scoring also increases the likelyhood that BasedGamer will succeed, since BasedGamer will aggregate all reviews. Metacritic will just ignore it since there's no numbers. -

Huh, all I said was indeed also applicable to BasedGamer succeeding, but my last post was actually about Joystiq taking scoring out of their review system. -

I wasn't sure if this fit here or in the funny things thread, but... http://shipyourenemiesglitter.com/ You can send people you don't like a bunch of glitter to annoy them. Somebody sells this as a service.- 488 replies

Their press release states they're going to add a little box with a summary of key points and whether or not they liked it to every review.
