  1. The castles didn't bother me as much as the creating life thing and simply glossing it over. I'd say Olaf and that abominable snowman were a pretty big deal. She created living, thinking creatures!
  2. Yeah, I'm not sure about that logical leap there. Addictive, manipulative, perhaps. But corrupt?
  3. Disney's PR section has been doing extremely bad. The same thing happened with Tangled, it was a fairly straightforward story with a bit of adventure and heart but the ads made it look like just another lame CG fairytale parody like the Shrek sequels. Frozen's pretty good, though. Not so good to deserve the rabid fanbase it has but it's pretty good - I like how it subverts a lot of the traditional Disney movie tropes. Check out Big Hero 6, it's also quite good. Disney's CG department has been doing really well, in fact. Wreck-it Ralph was also good.
  4. That trailer is how I know about it. Pasta and brains!
  5. What was that new show about a zombie that retained self-awareness and works at a police coroner where she eats brains that give her the memories of the victims which she uses to help the police solve the cases? I'm not making this up. I can't recall the name but it is an honest to god real TV show.
  6. As someone who has worked on f2p mobile games I can tell you with absolute certainty that if you don't pay for the product, you are the product. Don't play that nonsense. Everything about these games is designed to get you to pony up cash. And I do mean everything. I recall at some point I modeled a level entirely made out of golden treasure not because we wanted to, but because the publisher needed money and needed something to put players in the mind of "my amount of coins is so small in comparison, I should get more".
  7. Yeah, same for me, got Speedfan on autorun these days. Can't discern whether or not Firefox is the issue though.
  8. Yeah he was awesome as Conan, too bad everything else in that movie was balls. Sometimes even a great lead can't save a bad movie. Especially if that great lead's shadow is still visible on the wall that they project the matte painting background on.
  9. That's about how hard I laughed reading that.
  10. God, the amount of examples you just gave off the top of your head makes me sad. How many "smart/unique person solves the police case" episodic dramas do we need?
  11. I believe it's been suggested that the ability to rationalize and live in communities wasn't so much intergrated into our brain as tacked on in a new bit right next to the mammalian instinct to procreate and seek out a fat meal to satisfy ourselves for as long as possible because we don't know where the next meal is coming from. It's supposedly why a lot of things people do seemingly go against their logic and desires. I'm no expert though, so don't take my word for it.
  12. I can understand your reading of the post, but as far as I know that post is meant as "we're timing this out, here's something to think about in the meanwhile" and not "we're timing this out, here's why". Either way, like his post says, if you want to debate the decision you can take it up with him. Our policy is not to engage in open debate so there's nothing else I can tell you. I would like to reiterate that it's a time-out, not a ban. Take a break, settle down.
  13. I think it kinda makes sense that they'd slightly distance this version from comic book Aquaman. Aquaman has some cool storylines but the general public perception of Aquaman from non-comic fans is a meme, or a joke, sadly. Plus, I really like Jason Momoa so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  14. Now that you mention it, I did notice an increase in GPU temperature lately but I just figured it's because I haven't opened my rig up and cleaned it in too long, but it correlates with updating my Firefox.
  15. He's not even that unknown, he was one of the founding members of the Avengers team. There's actually an MCU Ant Man movie coming out in August starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas.
  16. As far as I can tell Alum is implying the opposite, that it's a cultural thing?
  17. I'm not sure if you're joking because Ant Man is also a real Marvel superhero.
  18. Plus, there's the whole thing where you're never thin enough for some people. Action - reaction. When I see a poster for a Hunger Games movie get posted and the comment section is full of "I dun get y every1 luvs Jennifer Laurence, shes so fat" then I weep a little for our ancestors because their offspring has degenerated.
  19. Cool initiative, but I'd like to point out that these are slightly over our image signature size limits already. I'm not going to rules lawyer you guys since it's such a tiny bit so you guys can just keep 'em comin' - just don't make 'em any bigger, alright?
  20. Breaking Bad did the same thing, great first episodes then dial it down a bit to start building up.
  21. Common sense is a learned skill? What is common sense other than critical thinking combined with basic knowledge? i.e. things you learn?
  22. You sound like you think those are innate abilities rather than learned skills.
