Don't think us plebs would have had the privilege of custom avatars. Unfortunately my only pictorial evidence of the BIS forum just missed it, but it does quote your crimes for posterity. (For context, this was from the time the IPLY forums had already gone up and most of the BIS forums were already locked, we were probably only able to post in WOT or somesuch) EDIT: This was posted a year ago or so, the last time we had a old timey time nostalgia session. Specifically recalling the Lord Jim incident. P.S. Thought I saw Caelis on the Whirlpool forums a couple years ago, but I may have been imagining things.

If you want to change your facial structure you need HGH though. Aptly for the Witcher, it's kind of a mutagen that turns Homo Sapiens into Homo Neanderthalensis.

I'm kind of the opposite, which has sort of been reflected in a couple of rants in the past, most recently probably against XCOM Long War. Trying to replicate realistic military conventions in a setup clearly not built upon realism just makes things less understandable and intuitive, and actively detracts from gameplay. Frankly, unless a game is a military sim, I'm going to outright mark it down for using say, a half-dozen different "real" assault rifles models over the game that just gives you a generic "assault rifle" item.

It is slightly concerning that my first thought after reading that is "What does Brad the Ginger Cat have to do with that?" instead of the obvious joke.

I think his eyebrows are too dark, this is a travesty.

I especially remember Jiles having Angelina Jolie's body. Hmm....

Well, just beat it for the first time with the default wagon, took probably just shy of double digit attempts, getting the double barrel pistol really turned it around. But there's another 15 wagons in the game I haven't tried... Been going with the randomly generated party each time, and the first time it gives me an all-female party I win, there might be a lesson there.

Super Amazing Wagon Adventure is annoying me because I want to use the gamepad for the wagon sections but it's rubbish at controlling the on-foot sections. Blah. Unsurprisingly I also have to run it in a small window, because otherwise the pixels would be 1cm each across.

I know there are old people out there who use "Nintendo" as a genericised trademark in place of "console gaming", like Googling or Xeroxing something. As in "Oh the kids are out the back Nintendoing". Not that it in any way justifies the headline.

Well you'd expect a hacker of all people to be videogame genre-savvy.

Elephant armour DLC.

It'll be separate purchases for each type of mount as well, since obviously there's no way horse armour would fit on a unicorn.

Holy Smoke Barti !!!! That's hectic, do you think a virus caused it? Make sure you do a full scan and confirm your definitions are updated Nah, it's just how Games for Windows Live rolls.

I think the point is that as the number of players/playable characters increases, the omission becomes more noticeable and jarring. In single-protagonist titles it's all rather arbitrary, but with four-player co-op such as in the new AC game, variety becomes more appreciated. By the time you get to larger scale multiplayer games like Unreal Tourney it's an expected feature, and attempting anything else in an MMO would be a ludicrous concept.

Yeah, I'm not down on Sony for this (though in general I am, all the way back to the rootkit fiasco), but I am very much down on Disney/LucasArts, who deserve no credit for it, because the inevitable impression is that this is something that's happened *in spite* of them. I wonder what happened in 2009, which was the first and last time they released a non-remastered version of any of their classic games. What would a policy of only releasing games redone with modern graphics (MI1/2, GF) possibly achieve?

First thing to come out of E3 (well, more accurately, out of this thread, since I'm relying on you lot to give me all the relevant news) I can say I'm unequivocally pleased about. That this is my first post in this thread is probably indicative of that. I mean I saw the headline about Grim Fandango and it was cool up until the guy said it was 'exclusive' to the Sony platforms. While I've since seen Tim hint about other platforms, that was about as big a dampener as could be conceived.

Autologous blood transfusions and microdosing EPO, yes.

I just want the numpad for the extra Enter key. Use that quite a bit which is the sole reason I don't even consider compact or tenkeyless.

Trap doors open everywhere except where you started, dropping you into a pit of bamboo spikes.

I, uh, have some save games I made in the late 90s. And looking back earlier than that, the early MPS games such as Civilization and Railroad Tycoon actually had restrictions on how many save slots you could make per disk, but let you specify the disk, so I have a bunch of 3.5" floppies with early 90s saves on them somewhere.

Are you paying for our flights? :D

I can't even remember how that encounter goes, save that I did run him through. I don't think there's even an option to spare him after you fight?

I don't actually know much of anything of the wider backstory, I just want dead kings as per the game's title. I mean I don't see why Geralt should even be aligned with or against any of the kingdoms, though this is probably explained somewhere. But yeah, presuming a faithful import, I'll will with absolute certainty take my Roche path save into the sequel. I know it's probably the less popular path through the game, and less "optimal" (fewer quests, less final XP, fewer plot reveals), I think I prefer how it develops more. And naturally it has the highest casualty count, three dead kings, dead Letho, dead Sile, dead dragon. Would have been perfect with dead Radovid and dead Philippa as well. Maybe I've been playing too much Privateer, but I'm feeling my Geralt ought to be Brownhair incarnate.
-
Naah, he didn't need Geralt for anything, he was just collateral damage, in fact it kinda bit him in the rear. He did maybe overestimate Serrit and Auckes' abilities, but it was necessary for him to get to Loc Muinne in time. 2 kings were already dead and so he hedged his bets Was talking about the fat king, who I will take to be canonically dead in my game if at all possible. Would've been great to go four out of four!

He needed us to cover for him for one king and missed another altogether, clearly incompetent.
