I prefer the badass death knight to the blond pretty boy paladin, actually. I suggest you try some singleplayer maps as well, notably RDZ's This Wreckage. Quite possibly the only good singleplayer map to be found nowadays. Also, I really want to play CoD4 again. I'm trying to find it cheap for 10$ or so, seeing as its from 2007 and all. Saw it selling at $59.99 in Best Buy a few days ago

Oh, I would not have done that. Valve has been, accourding to the Steam forums, neglecting the 360 when it comes to patches - or rather the patches are always late, if they come at all, due to Microsoft's handling of them. Isn't that par for the course with Valve? The dirty failboxers haven't gotten any of the TF2 updates either, as I remember. I haven't heard any stability complaints. I got it on the 360 so I could play with my dad. Last time I bought CoD4 on the PC and EVERYONE was on the 360, so it would be my luck that everyone switched back for L4D. Me, Nick, Llyranor have it for 360

Yeah, it does feel awkward (or it did in RE4). It just seems like a cheap way to make the game more difficult for the player.
