Music, Literature and Games. Hey what can I say? I'm not too picky. ;)
  1. HK47 would snipe their asses. But who gives a crap anyway?
  2. The Exile Story needs a conclusion, therefore The Exile shall be the PC i KOTOR3. But I also like the idea of having both Revan and The Exile as PC's. First half: The Exile. Finishing half: Revan. Easy enough. But what's Exile gonna do in the endgame, then?
  3. The pacifist package was nice to upgrade HK with. Sure, it turned him into a peaceloving moron, but at least there was some kind of respect going on thanks to it.
  4. *must not bash, must not bash, must not bash* That's one of the most unhidden hidden videos in the game. And you can get it by influencing Kreia one, single step. I always watch it while on Telos. There is no wisdom requirement or anything else.
  5. Sexy imitation, by HK-47, of Bastila and Carth: NOT cut from the game. Get enough influence in HK-47. Talk with him. Hear him complain about his previous masters followers (including Carth). Okay?!
  6. What's iffy about HK-47? He's a big part of the lightside path in KOTOR1. You need him if you want to complete the sand people quests in a friendly way. If you choose Revan as a lightsider, the game assumes you played KOTOR1 as a rightful, upstanding dogooder. Easy as that.
  7. Have you talked to Kreia about building a lightsaber? If not, do so. That'll add the quest "Building a lightsaber". And getting the part... Yeah, you get it as final payment from the Czerka or the Ithorians, so you should have it. Look in the Quest Journal or in Quest items. I heard it's actually possible to turn the part down as payment (and then get it some other way, I guess?). If you haven't got the part, something terrible's afoot.
  8. Ok, works for me. No, there's way too much stuff to unlock so it's not really a option, I think. Even though I came up with it. But if that is the case, even though I think not, then the reason why Obsidian isn't commenting on any of this is because they're too busy laughing at us. Those pricks.
  9. In that case, use the PM-function.
  10. I don't think Atton would be that cheerful if he was dead and that ending is supposedly part of his death scene, like some people on this forum thinks. He changes his attitude real quickly in that case. From "Oh, I died for you, my love/friend." to "Hey, up and running again, people! I might be a force ghost, but the Hawk still got two fusion batteries to go and I'm kicking to burn it to smithereens!" Do they hand out Prozac in Heaven or something? No, that ending was strictly to be used if the player ignored Atton as a romantic interest and thus saving his life. Aw, ain't romance a bitch?
  11. The cut ending stuff. Yeah, yeah. A shame. Whatever. While I have signed the petition, I don't rightfully know where I stand in all of this. One side of me thinks the endings should be restored, as it is in the games (and the developers) best interests to do so. But another side of me believes the endings would have made severe restrictions on a third part in this franchise and that it was LucasArts wish that Obsidian left it more open-ended and mysterious. Whether or not the third part will address to these issues, I have no idea, but I'd say they make for a great intro at the very least. Don't get me wrong: the cut endings are great, but they are very extreme and unforgiving. I suppose some of the more non-extragavant stuff could've made it into the game without raising any heat. Like the funny ending with Atton and the Exile. Then again: is Atton dead at this time? Seems highly unlikely. Force ghosts don't really communicate with any other beings than force ghosts. By the way, some of the ending sound clips strike me as sound complements to movies rather than in-game sequences. Obviously dialogue between player character and the characters would be in-game, but other than that... Ah well: as I said, I did sign the petition for what little or what much it might do and I will spread word about it's existence. But I truly don't care. Try it if you want to. I don't blame LucasArts or Obsidian like you do, even if you fail to admit it. This is still a great ******* game. A great "debut" for the Obsidian people and I wouldn't be surprised if there's even more great games in their future. Best of luck, mates. / Locue Edit: Also, in KOTOR2 you can unlock new dialogue by completing the game. There's also supposed to be a bonus for unlocking all the movies. Call me crazy, but I'd say that would be a great way of making the players frustrated and really work for their "missing" endings. As I said, call me crazy. People do it all the time.
  12. I'm sorry, but I think this is an horrible idea. One of the reasons that KoTOR has been rated the best RPG of all time across all platforms is because of the romances. While I do like the other interactions, and look forward to them, cutting out the romance is simply awful. KoTOR was very inspiring to many, many people, due in large part to the character development that was there when the PC was drawing romantically closer to either Carth or Bastila. Romances are included in just about every piece of classical literature out there, from every genre. There is a universal appeal about them, which is one of the reasons why Baldur's Gate II was such an enormous success as well. The romances are one of the most talked about aspects of the game. The majourity of players love having them in there, and truly appreciate how much they added to the enjoyment of playing KoTOR. I know many, many people are looking forward to the romances in KoTOR 2, and when I asked at E3, I was informed by LA that there would be romances in the story. Looking at it from purely a writer's standpoint, love is the single most powerful and most used device out there. Using Star Wars, the Han/Leia romance aside, the catalyst for most of the movies was love. Luke's love for Obi Wan, Luke's love for his friends, and finally, Luke's love for his father. It's difficult to inspire that kind of devotion in a third person environment like a game without using the romance card. Please, please reconsider the romance option. I truly believe that KoTOR2 will suffer if it is left out, and many, many fans will be disappointed. They're not leaving out the romances, Adria. They are merely making the character relationships better and hopefully a bit more complex than Bioware managed to do. As for the question, "is romances needed?" I am relieved to tell you all that I don't care. Hell, it was fun to try and knock off Bastila but I couldn't help but get the feeling that this was something they put in on their free time on their coffee break. And that's all of the party conversations, I'm talking about. Bastila and Carth was the potential romance-characters. HK47 gave you a reason to max up your Repair-skill so that he could get better stats and told you his rather fascinating story of blood and mayhem throughout the galaxy... Juhani was the crybaby-teenager of the group needing comfort and someone to hug her when needed. T3M4 was... well, uh... pointless to talk to. Mission was also pointless to talk to. The wookie was ALSO pointless to talk to. Lastly; Canderous only talked about his heroics as a warrior. Not the most interesting conversation there... What I'm hoping for in KotOR2 is that they make dialogue (party members) a bit more free.
  13. Well, basicly I want it all except the lightsaber-colors. What I REALLY want is that Obsidian makes combat a bit more entertaining, a bit more frustrating and, hell, a bit more challenging.
  14. You probably play as a human. But feel free to dress up in front of your computer if you want other races.
