  1. You know, I think he's just one of those types who needs to always be in the papers...
  2. There's an ending where . That's basically what I was looking for Played some more SupCom2. Made it to the cybran campaign where there are a few interesting missions. Including one that is JUST engineers attacking you... yes, building units are attaching you with russian bum rush tactics and building defense towers. I got probably around 1000 kills on that map ALONE (note, the max unit cap for a side is 500, and this was nowhere near unit cap for me or them). The story reason for this is that the engineers programming bugged so they were building automated defenses like nobodies business. It was an interesting turn from the standard skirmish style games. I ended up slaughtering them with four cybran expiramentals that slowly moved towards my objective while using beam weapons to knock out any incoming engineers. I think that technically the devs wanted me to build a fairly decent navy of battleships and destroyers (as this was the first mission with battleships) that I could use to sneak around and blow up the rear factories to slow down the incoming engineers, but watching six giant ant mechas with laser cannons blazing waltzing up the only road to my base guns blazing annihilating everything was more awesome, if more time consuming.
  3. Gah, I wish I knew how to capture an animation bit off youtube. I've been watching old (as in 1996 old) power rangers episodes. And one of them (Rocky just wants to have fun) has the red ranger running around giggling and then doing an indian whoop (like a little kid). I REALLY wants it for an avatar in another location.
  4. Given the final plot twist, I think wonder what'd happen if three of your characters were killed..
  5. I just beat heavy rain, gonna retry one of the last two chapters to try to save the ONE character that died on me. I know it goes against what the devs want but I need to keep my people alive.
  6. http://www.ntunnel.com/index.php/1010110A/...19666bcf0216197 JESUS! Friggen koreans, they kill each other, starve to death, and now ignore their child to death due to gaming addiction.
  7. If it is, I'm even more on the side of Acti. IW's leads are starting to sound more stuck up than the Team Ninja guy.
  8. http://kotaku.com/5486210/rumor-infinity-w...ther-publishers Honestly if this proves to be true, I'd be siding with Acti. I mean IW does get a measure of freedom because they make DAMN good games, but they don't get total freedom to do what they want. They were in an exclusive deal with Acti, that means that they don't go shopping around to another publisher because they don't want to follow orders. As much as you may hate on Acti for trying to impliment some creative control, they do have that right to earn money, this is still a business.
  9. Back in 07 one of the members of the portal team actually went ahead and said on Xplay that they were making it. Although the article was funny because of the random underlining of the various letters.
  10. Well it looks like one of the reasons they were booted was because they were in talks with EA to publish another game.
  11. What little I played in the demo had you running around with the weakest of the UEF experimental that you didn't control. The others that you'll get are MUCH more powerful (Fatboys are more walking arty platforms than actual combat units).
  12. Sup Com 2. It's different than the first (Obviously), and it's been cut down in terms of scale. Which isn't that bad, maps won't take 2+ hours and have a faster start. Also the experimental units now seem more cinematic and deadly in their fights, where in the first they were awesome, but they didn't handle being attacked very well. I've been playing the campaign, and honestly, it could be a LOT better. Most missions aren't the multi-objective maps you're used to (where you're playing for a bit to get to one objective, only to get another objective deeper in your opponents territory because of something you discover) and instead the mission given at the outset is the mission you'll have. Also the campaign maps feel... limiting. I understand that GPG got yelled at (rightly) for having uninteresting level design in SupCom1 because everything was effectively flat terrain due to the scale of things. But in SupCom2 things have been chopped down so much that sometimes I've been looking all over for a location to put my experimental production facility because the factories in my base have left no room. They did solve a FEW of the pathfinding problems but really only added the ability for units to push each other around. On the subject of experimentals: In the main campaign they tell you to pick up these experimental units via research, giving you the ability to make them. But what they don't tell you is exactly wtf they do. I mean the description for one is just "Experimental assault block". Thats it, doesn't say anything about AA or whatever. I personally ended up coming up with a rule of thumb for these things "Unless it flies, it has 0 AA". Which is a bit odd because even your COMMANDER has a small AA gun on it, You'd expect the titanic walking machine of doom that bristles with 18 guns, 2 of em bigger than the standard line unit, and 6 heavy missile launchers, to have some sort of puny gatling gun to provide some semblance of air cover for itself... Research is the big new thing. Basically it's the command trees from Company of Heroes and Command and Conquer Generals. As you kill stuff or just let time pass (you can build research facilities to increase the pace you get points over time) you get research points. And EVERY version of unit gets a tree (Land, Air, Structure, ACU, and Navy) which has bonuses and unlockable units. For example, the air trees have unlockable gunships for somebody pushing into the tree. And if you get deep enough into either air or land (haven't done navy really) your individual units will get things like personal shields, 30% damage upgrades (overall), land units will get miniature aa guns stuck to them. It provides a LOT of flexibility and variety between each of the factions, and from what I've seen balances out well. Basically: More cinematic, lower scale, mixed bag. Pick it up if you're going to be doing online, but otherwise wait for the price drop.
  13. Somebody get Enoch! We gots legal docs! http://kotaku.com/5485703/infinity-ward-fo...nts%5D/gallery/
  14. Knowing Denton, he's smoking but all the smoke is being filtered out by nanites in his teeth and he's really just storing it to blow it in somebodies face for dramatic effect.
  15. OOOOHHHH Deus Ex 3. How horrible will it be?
  16. NEW DEVELOPMENTS! http://kotaku.com/5485295/infinity-ward-fo...npaid-royalties Also: why the heck did soap blindly follow price if he knew price was bat**** crazy?
  17. Being Ultranationalist is being an extremist, the cases in the past where extremism has been involved have been violent. Just think of them like LoF overcaffeinated and with a gun. I don't know if that's the only method, but hey it's a blockbuster plot. In the 60's the plot would have been the day after tomorrow. Honestly the plot felt a bit like an idiot plot. Where the entire cast of characters that wasn't the Ultranationalists HAVE to be idiots in order for the plot to come off because they don't look at the radar screens, they don't think for a minute there could be a frame job for the initial terrorist action... And then they went in and decided that a RATIONAL PERSON would consider a nuclear strike to be a good thing. A STRATEGIC nuclear strike too, because it'd create a bigger firestorm than the one they're already in. Brilliant planning there guys. I think IW looked at the things that people praised the most about the previous game (the death of a main character, the mix up of play styles) and then took those and extended them WAYYY beyond where they're supposed to have gone to get what we did, which (to me) is a massive pile of incoherent garbage.
  18. It also didn't have nudity in it. That said, nothing will be "ripper" for "interactive movie" (see: Spoonyexpirament for a view of the ENTIRE game).
  19. Amazingly the addon pack was MUCH better than the actual game for project origin.
  20. Gotta say, that's kinda interesting. Neither side is right.
  21. Slug, I don't know if I'm reading this right, but it's kinda sounding like the woman you're looking at is gonna be high (emotional) maintence. I mean if she's thinking of killing the relationship (before it even really takes off) because of something you had 0 to do with (particularly something like "oh, my friends didn't tell me something about my past relationship") there's probably going to be drama in the future about some little tiny thing that you think nothing of, but she turns it into a small moon.
  22. Basically it's a series of books not unlike the Tolken genre. Darker, and with more adult themes, slow as molassas but first time through it'll DRAG you kicking and screaming from beginning to end. Problem is that George seems to write to much and thus a book he said would be out 2 years ago is on it's way AFTER having been cut in half (first half is already out) which led to a VERY disjointed narrative.
  23. NEW NEWS! McGee is returning to Fairy Tails! Including little red riding hood going bonkers with axes against wolves. Also, Ocarina of Time for the 64 was beaten by a blind kid with help from a circle of gamers and the interwebs (http://kotaku.com/5484361/with-the-help-of-friends-blind-man-beats-legend-of-zelda) And in mild rumor news, they haven't said anything yet to us, but the Sony Rep who did our live preview of Heavy Rain a week before it came out stated that if Heavy Rain sold well (which it did, to the point sony said they have no interest in producing another console for about 5-6 years) they might start to make it a regular thing, and God of War 3 was mentioned.
  24. Don't quite know. But I'd guess they might have been shopping around ideas to other publishers http://kotaku.com/5484046/infinity-ward-vs...ative-direction http://kotaku.com/5483492/scandal-hits-cal...ow-%5Bupdate%5D Probably part of the lead up: http://kotaku.com/5080486/infinity-ward-gu...uy-super-douche
  25. Not saying they don't have SOME style, but that GoW's is better done and (in my eyes) has more style to it.
