  1. Can't help but feel that Clinton and Obama are standing at two podiums with duct tape over their mouths for these candidates to take shots at.
  2. Jesus, this is getting stupid with the constant "Well This president sucks, I won't suck! Vote for me!" I'm not entirely sure how these candidates think that they're actually going to GET any of this crap from the world community.
  3. I donno... but everything i've heard out of Britain about her has been rather negative. I will say Trump just stumped me... he's saying that he'd preferred if we didn't attack Iraq. And Cruz cannot shut up... why doesn't CNN kill his mic?
  4. Things learned from this debate... Trump doesn't understand the Internet. "We need people to infiltrate their internet!" And Carly Fiorina has just invoked (I **** you not) margret thatcher.
  5. And another debate is about to begin.
  6. In the "A Man with Fleas is Never Truly Alone" category, as long as the internet is available and one person is reading what you post, you're never truly alone. Doesn't exactly give me much in the way of conversation...
  7. That moment when your brain says "Hey! Remember me? I'm depression! And you're gonna be alone for christmas....." And then evil laughter rings out from... somewhere dark.
  8. Far more, given most of his posts are in WOT which isn't counted (unless things have changed while I've been trying to build myself a future). As to the topic at hand. I don't think the government would need to put together the effort to cause this sort of shooting. And the Muslim aspect that's been getting the most attention is probably getting that much attention because it's the new wrinkle in mass shootings. Most of the prior shootings had been done by white men, usually mentally unbalanced in some way-shape or form. Each one had different rationale, Aurora's had a history of mental health issues, Sandy Hook's shooter was possibly aspergers and OCD, while the 2014 Ft Hood Shooter was suffering PTSD and under significant stress. The only other outlier that I can see is the 2009 Ft Hoot shooter who was a muslim who was radicalized. Oh, and the Virginia Tech shooter was also mentally unstable and was the only one to trigger proper adjustments to federal gun control after it occurred.
  9. Long strange series of events has led to me being the originator of an idea that's being sent to my dad's old company. Specifically it deals with water quality cleanup that effects the farming regions due to nitrate use, and if the company could set up shop in the farming belt and make some money off water cleanup. Hopefully this works out.
  10. Just realized I've been posting on this board for 10 years... AND that Kevin Butler (Sony's VP of awesome) is now shilling for Burger King.
  11. I was making a heavy generalization about the incredibly reactionary folk. Those who view Ted Cruz as being the best candidate for the presidency and that he most closely aligns himself to the Republican ideals. This generalization is effectively built out of an **** I knew as a kid and had to grow up with, due to friendships me and my brother had. The type of person who'll sit and say that "Black people have a culture of not learning and being proud of it". And state that Muslims in their totality are terrorists, while declaring that liberals like my family are going to cause the downfall of society because they reward those who earn nothing. And yes, these are things this person actually said to me specifically. As to Bill Mahr and Dawkins. They are smart people, and when I first joined this board 10 years ago (holy **** it's been 10 years?) I was one who'd post about them as the true keepers of the light of Prometheus. But I've had a change of heart when I really looked at their methodology of instruction and PR. They're honestly no better than the God Botherers who declare that you're going to hell if you don't quote John 3:16 every morning during a shower. For them there can be no reason anyone would look beyond themselves to explain the world, or that there are perfectly reasonable people who agree with everything they say, but still believe that there is a higher power. Instead they put on their Athiest boxing gloves and look for fights. They look for reasons to point and laugh at how stupid the devoted are, ignoring the fact that that persons spirituality might be the only thing holding them together mentally, or that religious charities are some of the most capable charities in the world due to the easy ability to transcend nationality. For the record, i'd probably be closest related to Agnostic because while I can conceptualize a higher power, I choose not to care that much about it's particular involvement in my life at this point. What is, is, and if there's anything after death well, that'll be something new to experience. And, from what I've seen in the public sphere, Most liberals who are of an Athiest bent, they'll happily help pile onto something stupid like the Westboro Baptist church, and the reason they're reacting and "apologists" of Islam, is because the western world is happily lumping in the ISIS groups with those like Malcom X, Saladin, or the Sultan of Oman. Which is effectively lumping Hitler in with Cant, Mother Theresa, and John the Baptist.
  12. Basically take the Consular prologue and act 1, and that's act 2/3 for the Inquisitor. Just with a touch more backstabbing.
  13. Just from memory, the Sith Inquisitor story is even more boring. The Consular story takes time to pick up speed, but the Inquisitor story starts out awesome, and proceeds to become "you have the sniffles, go to planet to fix it and OH HAY YOU HAVE MORE POWER!" Admittedly I just reactivated my account after watching SFdebris go through the Agent story, so I'm not sure about the post 60 content yet (Just been doing the Revan content got me from 55 to 61, and I just hit Yavin IV... which is supposed to be little more than ashes I think...)
  14. These articles do not explain how these stories constitute the development of "4th" or "5th" waves and only seem to use these titles in the headline. I strongly suspect you're just using terms with no understanding of the meaning. Honestly I could care less about feminism and what waves they are. I just know that every time I pointed out to a feminist that feminists are a problem and want to censor speech, she would reply, "oh it's not me or all feminists... it's the 4th and 5th waves." Do I care? Not really. It is really the majority of the vocal feminists, along with Islam apologists, who are the problem and the main components of the "Regressive Left". But let's get back to the Regressive Left as it relates to Islam: Again, let me re-emphasize: the concept of the "moderate" is very different for Muslims. When a Muslim self-identifies as "moderate", his/her definition of "moderate" is not what you think it is: Here is the video of the Muslim "Peace" Conference in Oslo, Norway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV710c1dgpU - find out for yourselves what the "peaceful" Muslims' definition of "moderate" is. Now, no one else put those words in their mouths or force them to raise their hands. The problem is... they do not see themselves as extremists. They think of themselves as "moderate" or "normal" Muslims. ALL OF THEM IN THAT CONFERENCE ROOM. And the "Regressive Leftists" want to sacrifice liberal values to defer to those people in the name of "diversity", "tolerance" and "multiculturalism". I notice there is a Muslim member in here from Malaysia who has been defending Islam and spilling deceptions in this thread. Just as a reminder: 86 percent of Muslims in Malaysia support making Sharia laws the laws of the land, (at 2:32 in the first video.) Ask her if she is among the "86 percent" who want Sharia law to become the law of the land and be enforced onto the Chinese and Indian non-Muslims in Malaysia. Ask her if she agrees men and women should "sit separate". Ask her if she agrees the punishments as prescribed in the Quran and Sunna, whether it is death, whether it is stoning for adulterers, whatever it is, if it is from allah and his messenger, that is the best punishment ever possible for humankind, and that is what we should apply in the world. Ask her. And then ask her if she thinks of herself as a radical extremists. I have to ask, do you consider America to have been founded on christian ideals and consider it as a Christian nation? The reason I ask is that most of the people I've seen who declare "Islam is Evil! Kill it with Fire!" generally hold that opinion and refuse to believe that they could possibly be hypocritical by declaring that opinion. And many of the same groups that use the language you do with regard to Sharia Law, are also the same ones who try to defend the placement of the 10 commandments at courthouses. That group in the youtube you're decrying are effectively the same as the various Conservative Christian groups who want English to be the official language of America, and for Christianity to be recognized as THE Faith of the USA, ignoring the consequences that might have for other faiths. And yet if you were to sit any one of those individuals down they'd consider themselves Moderate reasonable people because the lens that they view the world through is so self centric that they don't consider the farther reaching impacts of what they set in motion.
  15. Because there's never been a draught before global warming. Texas had a real bad draught for 7 years in the 50's. California would've been better off working on water projects instead of worrying about fantasy crap. There's "drought" and "5 years of less than 5 inches of rain". And it isn't just limited to California, but Cali's feeling the brunt of it. and GD, if my parents could pay taxes with a six figure income, and raise two kids without complaining, so can I.
  16. WOD if you could chose to kick-out any states from the USA who would they be? The blue states in the map above, but mostly California and New York, that's where all the evil comes from. http://www.newgeography.com/content/005110-jerry-brown-s-insufferable-green-piety "These fans miss a big part of the reality. Outsiders think of California as a prosperous place that mints billionaires, but overall the state’s economic recovery has done little for many, if not most, state residents. Even with the boom in Silicon Valley, roughly one in three Californians live check to check, the state has higher rate of poverty than Mississippi, as well as one-third of the nation’s welfare recipients. Among the emerging Latino majority, a prime Brown constituency, the state’s cost-adjusted poverty rate is more than 33 percent, compared to just 22.7 percent in Texas, a state often derided as unenlightened and cruel." "Of course, there’s a long history of such bifurcated society, where people tend to stay in their class and the poor depend largely on handouts from their spiritual “betters.” It’s called feudalism." So may be KP was right about feudalism. ... You do realize that the reason that Brown is railing against Global warming is that his state is the one that is most heavily effected by it within the union, in the most easily noticeable way too. http://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/styles/1920x1080_autoletterbox/public/earth20140225-full_0.jpg?itok=4gqe55FO
  17. Just bite me! :Cant's good-natured snarky icon: ... I will, if you really really want me to Eldar....
  18. There now, are you happy! STUPENDOUS MAN IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!
  19. I don't think they're gonna do a 3. Right now the plan is for DLC packs with missions (the next one being Nova centric). I get the sense that they lost a lot of the fanbase with their "Starcraft 2 is three games!" shenanigans.
  20. Economically for one thing, the pound is sitting at 1.5X the dollar as of right now (in the world according to Google) and has a lower poverty level than America (When using similar metrics rather than the different scales of the two governments)
  21. We're back to here, because while you may argue that those are "outgrowths to cover an ever changing landscape" so is the government involvement in healthcare and education. If you leave everything to the business sector, you create an unmitigated class system that has no changes. Only the rich become educated and stay rich, while the poor are relegated to unskilled labor or whatever they pick up on the job. And even if you convince the schools to take on prospects that are low income (as most modern universities are expected to) they still do it in a way that will be weighted towards those with more disposable income (most scholarships and grants go to those with higher grades, who are usually those who had the most free time during high school to perform scholastically). Hell even now, Student Debt is skyrocketing, partly because of the private college business model where the school can't get all it's funding from the government. And the degrees earned from those institutions are considered worthless because the institution itself is worthless. In the modern day, Universities are government run specifically because the way to increase literacy and the overall standing of one's citizens is to enforce and promote education. If you want to remove education from the government, expect to see your neighbors children get a 6th grade ish education by the time they're thirty because they don't have the money for anything else, and the only people literate enough to properly debate subjects like gun control and health care are the wealthiest 5%. You know, like it was when the constitution was written and we had an incredibly low literacy rate.
  22. GD, can I ask, does the idea of Britannia scare you? Because Britian seems to be doing quite a bit better than the US at the current point, and has "No gunz!" and "WATCH EVERYTHING" as two core tenants of their modern philosophy.
  23. The voters. Right now we get to decide what the scope is on local and state levels, but we have very little say in the Federal level. Incorrect Hurlshot. Actually the United States Constitution did that. It laid out in clear detail the responsibilities and LIMITS of the federal government and specifically assigned everything NOT included in it's text to the STATE and the PEOPLE. Any questions Calax? If so please read Amendments 9 and 10 of the aforementioned document. Oh, by the way Calax, the words healthcare and education do not appear in any of the seven articles or twenty seven amendments. That's true, they don't. But then the Constitution also mentions slavery in Article's I IV and V, and yet we've gone though and changed it. Nor does the constitution mention an Air Force, a Federal Police force, or Occupational Health and Safety. Does this also mean that we should remove the USAF, FBI and OSHA and leave it to the states to enforce those rules?
  24. Not gonna lie, i don't think there is a single candidate who'd actively work to dismantle the NSA's spying program without something akin to John Oliver's "This is what happens to pictures of your junk" discussion happening to every single member of the voting community.
