  1. I thought you'd be all over this game the day it came out and run home to install it with a Civ4 t-shirt on to boot, Meta. Are you not the die hard Civ gamer I envisioned you to be?
  2. It's such a quiet thing... to be zinged. But far more terrible to admit it.
  3. Back again. All flushed.
  4. That's it; I'm off to the loo. :">
  5. I'd say it takes a bit more than quality cinematography to make a good movie.
  6. I quoted you since I was replying to your bitter remark. You just didn't see the difference between what was directly responding to you and what referred to an earlier post. Case closed.
  7. We could set up either a "tree" of nodes, if you will, or we could turn it into a circle. I believe that latter would be easiest to implement, and imagine the buildup! Just create a thousand mail accounts and forward them in sequence until you get to the last one. The tension when pressing "OK" to forward the last one to the first could seriously arouse me in a sexually perverted way.
  8. No, your man Mr. Whoever said it was "cool" and I used powergamers as a very natural example of why it wasn't "cool".
  9. You could and you will.
  10. Just because you have no qualms about being a powergamer it doesn't make powergaming or exploits "cool". I'll spew my guts over anything I want and if you just can't take it then don't read it. You even said it yourself: It is boring.
  11. I care.
  12. Yes. Most Informative Answer Ever. Not. :D
  13. I'd assume they'd be ready (/ier) this time.
  14. Did I just catch you in self-denial?
  15. If you linked to a link that linked to you you might cause one of those things that happened when somebody managed to set both her hotmail addresses to forward mails to each other and the whole hotmail server crashed. That would be Extra Awesome.
  16. Peter Stormare. The only guy on the planet who could make John Lennon sound like a Russian cosmonaut...
  17. Is there an I-can't-go-on issue over the (entirely supportable) removal of this particular thread?
  18. Given your avatar you should know that the Truth is out there. And I'm talking out there now.
  19. Humour us.
  20. At your service, Pixies. I'm in need of some sleep. How was it?
  21. What Aristocrats Joke?
  22. I've experienced both minor lag problems and strange graphical issues (I have a GeForce FX 5200 card), but nothing you can't overcome with some tinkering around. It really appears to drain a lot of memory, though, so you'll have to keep your sessions moderately short. When it comes to gameplay I've found it to feel a bit short. I reached the industrial era pretty quickly, and it feels like units become obsolete even faster than in previous Civs. I must admit that I haven't had a single war with more than the occasional skirmish, however, so that detracts a bit from time consumption. Overall it seems cool, but not quite what I'd hoped for.
  23. Hell, what do I need to do to get a link around here?
  24. For some reason, "cool" isn't exactly the word I would choose. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because, as opposed to "cool" I find it odd, stupid, boring and in dispute with the whole concept of RPG. It is a time-consuming exploit worthy only of powergamers with little to no desire to enjoy a nice and balanced story. If you wish to stay in that room for half an hour and make good use of a programming oversight that is up to you, but don't expect me to read your post and say "yah, isn't that just so fucking cool".
