  1. I prefered kotor 2 to kotor 1, for its in depth story. It expounded on the role playing experience, and for that, it deserves props.
  2. ^^^Kotor2 had more replayability than Kotor1,ask most people that have played both games.
  3. Overrated:Bruce Lee Underrated:Boxers that are matched against Bruce Lee
  4. Overrated: Kotor 1 Underrated: Kotor 2
  5. The story in general. I just think that Obsidian took it to a higher level, it had more depth than a great majority of games out there, including kotor1.
  6. Didn't read much of your post sorry, but from what little I read, you have a problem with going solo? Why is that? I would have much preferred the game to be that way, opens up the level of interactivity, plus it can solve party AI problems - which you'll always have as long as the combat remains turnbased and party members accompany you. Liked the solo missions, I thought that they were some of the best parts of the game - didn't have much/any of it in kotor1, which wasn't cool.
  7. I didn't feel that the ending was abrupt; it came as expected but a bit more fireworks would have pleased the masses. Overall a very good game and a worthy sequel, if I ever saw one.
  8. I disagree. It never fell on it's face when trying to deliver it's story, it was well delivered IMO. Kotor 1 for me will never be anything more than a good RPG story, it was by no means a great story. The achievment experienced is mainly due to the little movie sequence at the end of the game - which, in reality, wasn't all that better than Kotor 2's. Kotor 2 gave me a sense of achievment, I had a character who had surpassed his teacher and all her students before him. While Kotor1 addressed the darkside and lightside in the much fancied, simplistic way, this game approached it in a more real sense, it showed that there isn't always such a clear cut distinction between doing good and being bad, that both can mean the same thing in certain circumstances. The idea that the force has a will, is an idea that has been in existence in the Star wars universe before this game. It was a concept that was never fully elaborated upon - you should know, that it's a belief that's always been held by the Jedi. Much as some choose simply to say, 'kotor2's storyline attempted to be deep, but it fell flat on it's face', I choose to acknowledge the fine work Obsidian did in delivering a more enganging, compelling and deeper storyline than the first.
  9. As far as the story line goes Kotor 2 pawns the first. Most observers agree i.e game informer and the like, that Kotor 2's story was more engaging than the first, and after playing both games I somewhat agree with that assessment. Improved gameplay, more dynamic villains and a more interesting story means Kotor 2 was the better game, but that's just my opinion.
  10. To be honest Kotor 2 is the better story. It's a question of Kotor 1 being the pioneer or more accurately, it was something new and different when it came out, and people got attached, even addicted to it. Kotor 2 was more compelling and deeper, but because it was such a different Star Wars story people wound up not warming up to it. The characters were a liitle better in the second, Obsidian just chose not to use family reunions, to fill up their characters backgrounds. Have you ever seen a game with more family reunions than Kotor1? Kotor 1 was a great game with a solid story while Kotor 2 was a partially incomplete game with an even better storyline.(notice the word partially, the cut material, for me, was inconsiquential to the general plot)
  11. Are guys on this board Tyson haters or what? A guy with the speed of a middleweight, in his prime and punching power, enough to knock out a clandestine - losing to a featherweight, in Bruce Lee? You've got to be smoking crack.
  12. You have to realise Tyson fought more skillful boxers than Lennox in Spinks and Holmes. He fought more dangerous fighters than Holyfield in Ruddock. He fought quicker boxers than Lennox in the shape of Tony Tucker, who at 6'7 was taller and quicker, than Lennox in lateral movement and hand speed. And still, he got beat by a prime Tyson. He never faced Evander and Lewis, when in his prime, those fights meant more to Holyfield and Lewis than they did for Tyson, he already had a legacY. Those two guys built their legacy's in the absence of Tyson and by beating a shadow of a fighter that was once considered the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
  13. You know nothing of Tyson's career, to make a comment like that. He had a record of 41-1 before he went to prison and he dominated the Heavyweight ranks like non other. He destroyed the unbeaten Micheal Spinks, KO'd Larry Holmes - the previous great champ who humiliated and retired Ali about six years earlier. Holmes had the best jab in Boxing history and still he couldn't get to Tyson. He destroyed Tubbs and left Razor Ruddock ( the second most dangerous fighter, after Tyson) broken, for the rest of his career. Tyson in his prime was the epitome of a fighting machine - so learn your boxing, before making uninformed comments.
  14. Aside from killing Dooku Vader was the creature that commited all the atrocities in the Jedi temple. After the Mace incident Anakin was far gone. Vader is cold hearted, Vader is merciless, Vader is ambitious, he is the full embodiment of Anakin's dark alter ego.
  15. Obvious Man's super powers include:- Ability to clarify anything. And you know, you just know he can obliterate anything with his 'obviousness'. (w00t) Not a half bad Super Hero, if you ask me.
  16. Yeeeeah! I was filling in the blanks in the above post.
  17. He was able to zap Mace because Mace had just had his lightsaber arm sliced by Anakin the Jedi.
  18. Sidious was prepared to die trying. The Sith had wanted revenge for 1000 years and Sidious like all the Sith befor him was desperate for redemption. Mace may have killed Sidious but Sidious was confident he would sway Anakin to his side because he had a stronger bond to Anakin than Mace. On top of that Sidious had played his trump card (the plaegius trump card that is). Mace would have killed Palpatine - if it wasn't for that pesky kid
  19. The sad thing is that people think that Palpatine can orchestrate an entire duel between a very powerful and dangerous Jedi Master. That is simply wishful thinking. Mace had a dangerous lightsaber form and he was offensively superb. He could have sliced Sidious' head off.
  20. Thats not true because in Kotor 1 you could still make darkside choices in the end and still have a light side ending. Based on popularity alone Kotor 1 would win. But imagine if these two stories were novelized? I would bet that Kotor 2 would definetly be the better of the two Novels.
  21. Kotor 2, on account of it treads the unconventional Star Wars path. Besides that Obsidian did pretty well, for the most part, (INMO) with their story.
  22. I'm not sure I agree completely. It's obviously hard to say, since I did play KotOR before KotOR2, but I think that to a person who plays KotOR2 without having played the first game, it might seem as there is a whole lot of chatter about this "Revan guy" who they might not even know who it is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I played Kotor2 before Kotor1 and i never felt like, "who is this Revan guy?" The game stands perfectly on its own and it doesn't make you feel like you need to have played the first game. However I did play kotor afterall, just to see why it was more popular than the second. I found that the second is superior to the first, in many aspects.
  23. Another person claiming kotor is the "Revan saga" kotor1 is about Revan kotor2 is about The Exile and kotor3 is about, what!? We don't know, yet. Kotor2 mentioned Revan for the sake of continuity and Revan as a character was elaborated upon by Obsidians words/material. There is nothing more to Revan unless the devs decide to make anything of his character in future kotors. At the end of kotor2 it's all about the Exile but can easily change. Keep in mind the direction of the series is out of OUR(the fans) hands. And a newbie(as much as I don't like the idea) is certainly a big possibility.
  24. On a final, final note there is a reason why the fans are not being requested to make the next kotor. Fans come with the lamest outrageous and down right run-of-the-mill ideas. The devs may choose to use fan media or they may not thats up to them but in the end not many good or original ideas have spawned from these forums. Majority want Revan or Newbie but so what? Will there presence as PC make that large a difference in the next game. It has been my experience that popularity is not synonymous with quality. Obsidian in my view did a great job with their character the Exile and in many ways he was more fleshed out than Revan. Sure Revan is popular but so what?! He was mentined in the second game only for the purpose of continuity, he's not that special and this is not "the Revan saga" nor was it meant to be. Kotor is about the miriad of heroes that play their part in ensuring that justice prevailed in the galaxy. This may hurt Revan fan boys to hear but the focus of the series shifted to the Exile and as such the devs will do their best to ensure that the next game is as(if not more) immersive than/as its predecessors. The devs won't listen to popular opinion without there being significant reason to do so. So give solid reason why your suggested PC should be the one featured in kotor 3 not fan boy jibberish.
  25. I agree with you Darth Flatus the Revan problem can be solved by removing him he is to shadowy a character. And GL was talking about his movies not kotor. Kotor2 showed us that it is capable to leave Revan out of the story arch and still have a good game. I still wonder though how a third PC will fit into all this?
