Thanks for all the advice. I have put the phone through a wide variety of climates over its life. So it may be some kind of corrosion or something. I think I had better buy some batteries then. true, on that i agree. however, he is military and his opinion is skewed by perhaps an otherwise harsh sense of discipline. what he's calling a "slap on the wrist" in other (unmentioned) cases, may seem just, or even harsh to civilians. that's all i was getting at, that opinions are just that, particularly absent the rigor required to make such broad statements.
