  1. Wake me up when we can have a good fight with them. EDIT: or at tea time. Whichever is first.
  2. Surely if they were going to stir **** up then they'd have been better off with a number of featureless black spheres that exploded into an acidic gas when anyone tried to tamper with or x-ray them. That would have driven the conspiracy people nuts.
  3. This reinforces my view that most family GPs could be replaced with a friendly woman handing you a warm and freshly laundered towel. And to think some people get those frequently. Yeah, my mother has some one-use pen injectors with some reaaally good meds for the migraines she gets. One shot in the thigh and boom, out like a light for about 6 hours (Of course, that's a pretty restricted prescription). Although actually I have to say, she hasn't had as many bad ones in the last half a year or so. So I'm pretty much thinking it's a family curse. It's one of those annoying things, we used to have a really good GP. But he retired..and his replacement..well, is a nice guy. A very pleasant Doctor. Just his medical skills aren't exactly great. I mean, I know my mother has a nice collection of medical conditions, and her file is inches thick and there's a whole batch of pharmacutical products they have her on... But for over a year he misdiagnosed that she'd developed diabetes and kept telling her she was only suffering from "side-effects" of the drugs she was on. Ignoring her comments that she'd been on most of those drugs for years without those side-effects. And he's kind of like that with the rest of the family. As a person, he's nice and friendly. Just as a doctor, he's a little bit crap.
  4. I hate you so much. I hope you know that.
  5. Strictly speaking I'd suggest that any situation which is changing faster than the systems around it can react will have noxious byproducts. For my money this is an example of what happens when you expect indigenous populations to free themselves from a state which is prepared to actually use significant force to stop them. But then, you know that's what I think. ~ BTW What's the point of arms control when you can oppress people using swords?
  6. Rest? I thought that your standard prescription for these kinds of things was "hot curry + good ale"? Today I did a rare bit of weekend work, as I had a couple reports to review that I didn't get to on Friday. Now that that is finished, I'm having some ale, cheese (a fontal), and crackers. That is my cure when sick. i'm experimenting with not getting sick in the first place.
  7. Meaning no disrespect to the terrble suffering of the people who live in the Congo, but what the hell are you talking about? Success? What success?
  8. Did someone say rebel alliance?
  9. Not sure I'd agree, Syraxis. I don't look back and value the pointless nagging... Surely there were better ways the time and effort could have been spent?
  10. Generally have been far too whiny. Needed to apologise anyway. However, in addition I have discovered that all my problems with FO3 are due to Windows Live clashing with my security settings. Fixed now. By which of course I mean that Windows Live has successfully alienated me even further from its parent company. Well done, Windows Live! Good job!

Perfect for my chill out mood. Thanks.
  12. I agree, but perhaps the reason it is out of ideas is because mainstream movies have to follow such a restrictive format. If you have to have a limited array of characters, 1.5-2 hours time, and have to end happily then what the hell can you write about? Just occurred to me...
  13. Don't sweat it. Mums just do that sort of thing occasionally. Lord knows why, but I swear they enjoy it.
  14. Apologies to Krez. I've just read about the explosives etc. Sounds like a bit of a mess, frankly.
  15. Really hit my strain tolerance today. Just lying low, treating everything at a slow pace. Got teh bigennings of a cold coming on, which is my body's way of forcing me to ease up. But this time I intend to just get some rest, not get ill. Busy week ahead, and can't afford the time off.
  16. I don't believe they'd go in armed to the teeth, old man. And detaining and imprisoning are two very different things. I'd reckon.
  17. Actually _I'm_ saying I have a problem with Fallout 3. It won't work for more than five minutes without crashing. It's hard not to make unflattering contrasts with Bethesda's support and, say, Valve's.
  18. Yup. After Dead Money, New Vegas has been good as gold. Old world gold... I'm still trying to debug old skool Fallout 3.
  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12658054 Little tip, fellahs. If some chaps turn up offerring to talk about assisting you... don't take them prisoner.
  20. ...I see.
  21. kinky, me likey.
  22. If the industry doesn't stop making complex games with console interfaces I'm going to start an Al Qaeda-esque phenomenally violent terrorist movement. There. My hat's in the ring.
  23. I've done that. It wasn't good for me. It won't be good for you. Get yourself to hospital NOW. Seriously.
