I tried that. The climbing feature is incredibly fickle, though. Half the time I couldn't even climb toward the heart, half the time the thing shook me off while I was still on its legs.

Kickstart Backer Badge
GhostofAnakin replied to Gfted1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Have you completed the Pledge Management process (http://eternity.obsidian.net/)? Yes. I did it this morning after I'd received my email confirmation link after requesting one last night while trying to link my Kickstarter account. -
Kickstart Backer Badge

My badges still don't seem to be appearing, even after I'd gotten this account linked to the one I used for the Kickstarter. -
Dear God, my pawns were absolutely useless in my fight against the endboss in Dragon's Dogma. They literally followed me around the map and would NOT attack until I actually attacked. Which sucked because half the time I couldn't attack since the dragon's heart was too high for me to reach with my sword. Yet my damn archers wouldn't even fire off shots with their bows. Infuriating AI during that last fight. The battle literally took twice as long as it should have because I had to do all the damage.

This is the case for me as well. They're listed on my profile. Also, I never got an email about a Pledge Completion form or whatnot. -

What level should I be before tackling that island? I feel like I'm underleveled as it is at 50, despite being literally on the final main story quest.

Nearing the end of Dragon's Dogma. The main quest has gone faster than I thought. It's not quite as fleshed out as I thought it would be. It's the traveling and the sidequests/bounty board quests that really flesh out the length of this game.

Why? Probably because there isn't much else to play on the new console. It really is crazy how few launch titles there are for the new consoles. Pretty much every good game is also available for the 360 and PS3. One of the reasons I originally bought the 360 was because every game I wanted to play was only available on the 360. The original XBox simply couldn't play them. This new transition from 360 to One or PS3 to PS4, not so much.

Achilles Davenport failed as a teacher if you can't even climb trees without killing yourself. What kind of legacy is he leaving behind?!

So I just defeated a guy in Dragon's Dogma named Balsac. Whichever writer came up with that name either has a weird sense of humor or English isn't their first language.

just shove them in the stash, thats what i did. never ended up using most of them, but at least i had them around if i needed them I do that with a lot of stuff. But there's some stuff where the description makes it sound like you should carry it with you at all times that end up weighing my character down.

The one thing I always hate -- and it's more me than the game design, necessarily -- is my inventory is always full of junk because I never know when some obscure piece of trash is going to be necessary or important further down the line. Right now in Dragon's Dogma, I've got a bunch of stuff that I have no use for but that are listed in the "special items" part of inventory that I don't want to sell in case I need them later.

About time. Because 2013 was utterly pathetic for RPGs.

I found a magical sword that's constantly dealing fire damage. Seems it's one of the better weapons available at my current level, since it's superior to even the priciest weapons available in stores. I need to upgrade my mage pawn. It seems like every single battle, I spend half the time trying to revive her after she dies right away. It was actually pretty funny because a Gryphon was chewing on her even when she was already "dead". I was like, "I'm coming to save you ... oh, you're in his mouth".

Character is up to Level 31 in Dragon's Dogma. Minor complaint is I've yet to find a decent looking armor for my character. The ones I've found/bought in stores all look like rags a beggar wears. So I've taken to wearing a hooded robe for some cult faction I found in a random chest.

Dragon's Dogma takes me an hour just to do one quest, mainly because of the walking across the map. It doesn't help that the exact same enemies spawn in certain areas, forcing me to fight them in order to get past that section.

If you can't pay up, you don't get my sympathy. The family's just lucky I don't hack apart their son for making me walk all over town talking to each family member.

And now I'm stuck on a quest. Some kid named Pip is on a roof that I can't seem to find a way to access, and I need to talk to him to move the quest along.

Well do you have any friends playing ? Your friend's pawns are always free. And you only know when the dismiss your pawn, the next time you sleep you get the news. Maybe it even brings you an item along with quest and enemy experience. A buddy of mine played DD awhile ago, but I'm not sure how far he got into the game or how high he leveled up. He's the only one on my friends list who I'm aware of that's played Dragon's Dogma.

Not sure if it's a glitch or what, but I was able to recruit a Level 45 pawn to my party even though I was only Level 16 at the time. Usually, the only pawns available to me when I go into that rift thing were pawns at my current level. But lo and behold, a Level 45 was sitting there, so naturally I had to add her. Speaking of pawns, how do you know if someone has recruited your pawn? I've put my pawn up for recruitment, but I haven't noticed any differences (ie. no gain in equipment/money/levels/whatever).

You should have climbed on its neck and whacked it with your sword. I tried to do that. But my guy ran out of stamina while trying to climb to the head. So he'd leap onto the neck, shimmy a bit toward the head, then drop down huffing and puffing. Apparently my character is also morbidly obese.

Still playing Dragon's Dogma. I think I chose the wrong class to start as. My fighter looks so sub par compared to my companions who are a Strider and a Mage. Especially when it comes to attacks from enemies in the air. I'm flailing away trying to knock them down like a piƱata, while they're shooting arrows or fireballs at them and hitting with ease. Heck, we took down a hydra with me doing literally nothing other than the killing blow when the head was already on the ground.

Go fight a chimera then. You will have an opinion after that. :D I just stumbled across those crocs in the well. I was killing one pretty easily, but then I ran under a waterfall and my lantern went out. So I see the croc I thought I was fighting suddenly have full health and I'm like, what? Then I see another one with full health ... and then another one. Lesson of the day: Don't run under a waterfall with your lantern. It makes crocodiles/lizzard men multiply.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Very early on, so I have no real opinion of it yet.
