  1. Nope, nowadays all the content of a game is copied to HDD including KotOR II. The video were in a directory called "movies", so they always came from the hard drive. The CD is only here to bore you with CD-check to be sure you really legally own your copy of the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok ... so if the movies are on my hard drive (before the HQ patch) ... then why did my cd-drive get so noisy when ever movie was played? What was the game reading from my cd during the movie scenes?
  2. 1600x680 And I don't see any improvements... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see slight improvement, and the transitions between game and movies are a lot smoother now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> of course the transitions are smoother. Before HQ media content patch movies came from CD but after the patch they come from hard drive.
  3. Ok ... looks like I need pick my words better. Hsiss exploit works with light side characters ... as in you can keep calling those Hsiss forever if you so desire ... but you run out of force points faster than you can say "Hsiss". So you need to fight them the old fashion way with your lightsabre ... now who wants to do 20-30 levels that way? With dark side character you can call about 20 Hsiss at the time and storm them away in few seconds ... now that's what I call fast experience. (w00t) Oh ... and with dark side character it's almost impossible to run out force points while in the cave/tomb. "
  4. Hsiss thing works only with dark side character because with light side character force points wont generate unless you have items that has FP generation. I guess it has something to do with the fact that the cave/tomb has very strong dark side aura.
  5. I'm now on my 5th playthrough of KotOR2 and I finally managed to meet those escaped criminals on Telos surface. I'm not sure what the bug is ... but here's what I did different this time. 1. I first did all "main" quests upto the point that I would have been ready to leave Citadel station with shuttle. I didn't even talk to lieutenant Grenn after I was realesed from house arrest until I had finished the "main" quests. - I played light side character ... so the main quests where the ones given by Ithorians. - I also did some side quests at this point. But only the ones that didn't involve lieutenant Grenn in anyway. 2. Once I had cleared the main quests and had obtained the right to use shuttle to fly to Telos surface ... I went to talk to lieutenant Grenn and asked about work/bounties etc. 3. I think first did the smuggling quest and Batu Rem quest. Then I went Czerka office. I saw the criminals there and talked to Orso about Batono. I finished rest of the open quests after that. After that I left Citadel station ... and later on found the criminals on the surface. And you can't miss them ... they are standing behind the first set of mines in the first narrow passage in the area. My guess is that the bug has something to do with Czerka office and possibly some quests involving Czerka office. So my advice is to do all the other quests first that you can and then go talk to lieutenant Grenn and do the quests that he gives to you. At least that worked for me.
  6. I tried Catalyst 5.9 in Dantooine (KotOR2) without the "Disable Vertex Buffer" - fix ... and it worked just fine. No slow down at all. With previous drivers FPS in Dantooine was about 1 frame per 5 seconds. I have Asus X800 PCie card.
  7. Yep ... I have to admit that when I first time noticed this I went ... "HUH?". But it is nice feature ... because in other games I have couple times accidentally saved over a wrong save.
  8. Of course they are presumptions ... but that is how I fill in the caps. That is how the story goes for me ... and that is all that matters to me. If you fit in together the events in game and my presumptions ... you get a story that is pretty much believable ... and that's enough for me. I agree that the current ending leaves caps to be filled and guestions to be anwsered ... but it doesn't bother me too much because I can fill in those caps the way I want them to be filled. Do I think Obsidian and LA cut corners? ... simply put ... yes. But I'm not really that disapointed with the ending. When I read the first time about the complaints of the current ending ... I hadn't yet played the game through ... and back then I thought that the ending really must be bad. But when I finally played the game to the end ... I wasn't disapointed at all ... to me the current lightside ending works. Besides in lightside ending ... if you don't rush at the ending and listen what Kreya has to say ... you get enough hints to piece together the future. Exile leaves the known space to look for Revan. Mira, Handmaiden, Atton and Bao-Dur form the new Jedi Council/Order. I believe there is also something about Mandalore/Canderous (but it has been sometime when I last finished the game and that is why I can't remember what it was). So in the end you have these "dots" ... all you need to do is to "draw the line" between the "dots" and you have some kind of picture of what happened and what is going to happen after the game.
  9. It's clear what happened. Lightside ending: After Exile destroyed Ravager, he decides that he has only one option ... and that is to face Kreia. Because he doesn't want to danger any of his friends ... he decides to go alone and informs his friends of his decision. Bao-Dur doesn't agree with Exile and demands that he should take at least Remote with him ... Bao-Dur tells that Remote could deactive the Shadow Mass Generator. Exile hears out Bao-Durs suggestion and agrees that that would be a good idea. But Mira and GO-TO doesn't agree with him. They pretend to accept Exiles desicion ... but are silently making their own plans. Mira believes that Exile will need help and GO-TO doesn't like the idea of deactivating the Shadow Mass Generator. So Mira and GO-TO sneak into Ebon hawk. Kreia had foreseen that Mira would come to Malachor V and that is why she brought Hanharr to Malachor V ... to stop or at least slow down Mira ... so that she wouldn't be able to interfere into what was going to happen between Kreia and Exile. Who is aboard Ebon Hawk when it flies to Malachor V? Exile, Mira, GO-TO, Remote and T3-M4 because without it Ebon Hawk isn't going any where ... remember that navicomputer is still voice-locked. So ... Exile flies to Malachor V ... unaware that Mira and GO-TO are aboard the Ebon Hawk. Next part we know ... Ebon Hawk crashes, Exile makes his way to Kreia, Mira confronts Hanharr, Remote comes up against GO-TO and Ebon Hawk drops towards the center of the planet but the ship isn't in as bad shape as it looks and T3-M4 is able to fly it. Exile defeats Kreia, Mira defeats Hanharr and Remote suprises GO-TO with Bao-Durs modifications. There is nothing/no one left to prevent Exile and Remote from deactivating the Shadow Mass Generator ... so there is no hurry. Even if it looks like things happen in rapid succession that isn't what happens. Exile, T3-M4, Mira and Remote fix the Ebon Hawk. When they are ready to leave Malachor V ... they start the Shadow Mass Generators deactivation process and fly away from the Malachor V. During their stay at Traya Academy Exile found out where Revan had gone and was also able to unlock the navicomputer. So Exile took Mira, T3-M4 and Remote back to Telos ... and then left after Revan. At least that is how I fill in the caps. " Darkside ending: I haven't played as darksider ... so I don't know how the exact story goes or what caps needs to be filled. So I don't have the darkside ending to tell.
  10. Oh yes ... it works wonders. From 1 frame per 10 seconds to 20-25 frames per second ... and I'm using Radeon X800XT PCIe graphics card.
  11. There is away to get infinite amount of exp in Dxun. Just like someone already mentioned the glitch is when Sith attack Mandalorian camp. If one avoids going too close to Mandalores "command center" during the attack, you can keep the Sith assassins spawning. I think I got 4 levels (from 17 to 21) doing this ... before I got bored. Once you get too close to Mandalores "command center" a cutscene is played and then you fly to Onderon.
  12. This propably isn't the anwser you seek .... but ... Force sight cancels the blur effect ... although everything does look blue while force sight is in effect.
  13. Hmm ... I've never encountered this problem ... but that might be because I've always visited Jek Jek Tarr before I get the invite to meet the exchange boss in there. So the door has always been already open for me when I go there after Mira went there.
  14. Here is what I've come up with so far: 1. Criminal quest at Telos: Criminals did spawn in Czerka office, but they didn't spawn on planet surface. I've never managed to find them on the planet. This is my 3rd play through (1st after patch). If I remember right I went to Czerka office pretty early. Right after I had visited TSF office to get the quests and my inbounded equipment. Also I think I reported to TSF that I had seen the criminals right after I left Czerka office. 2. Hidden "Jedi Academy" on Telos: When I entered the "Jedi Academy" I got the cutscene where I'm told to drop my weapons. I chose the "Alright - we don't mean no harm" anwser ... I also was unarmed when I entered the "Jedi Academy". After which I got control back and noticed I got light side points ... but then nothing happened after that. I had to walk to Atris and talk to her to trigger the next cutscene. Before the patch ... after the first cutscene I was taken to meet Atris. update: When I chose "Who are you?" first and then "Alright - I didn't come here to fight" ... then it would go into cutscene of Kreya and Atton in forge cages ... and from there to the cutscene of Exile and Atris. Hmm ... that's what I've noticed so far.
