It is both a regional and faith based problem. Regional because of the cultural differences and and environment. Faith because it gives justification for the regional problems and fuels it.

The only reason why Mary is considered sacred is because the Christian Church used Mary to replace the pagan goddess Diana when converting those who venerated her. Why else make Jesus = God, or the Son of God. To replace pagan religions and myths centered on half gods like Hercules.

Lare is right on that one. In the Islamic tradition Jesus is one of the great prophets of God but definitely not God. In early Christiandom there were many sects of Christianity who believed just that and did not adhere to the Belief of Jesus = God. Of course when that became the official dogma these sects were definitely disenfranchised by this.

Not as far fetch as you might think. Back in the day Transformers toys came with statistics of the Transformer's strengths and weaknesses. based on those statistics an old friend of mine made a PnP transformers game off those and borrowed material from Palladium's Robotech RPG.

I use wikipedia as a starting point. If I am doing research for a paper I search the site for the topic I am doing and see what sources they list for it then head to the library to look up those sources.
