so you make a trial biased for 99.9% of the population based on the 0.1% that are famous or live life as grifters? people toss around the concepts of bias and fair so often they fail to realize that there is no such thing as "completely unbiased" or "fair for everybody." societal laws and practices are meant to cover the majority of circumstances, not all. the tighter you close the system, the easier it is to find loopholes which result in completely undesirable results. sometimes your logic defies, sand. taks JH

yes i have: an experiment gone wrong from a now extinct hi-tech race The map was intended to look like this (I mean that with the 'tail', and the glow, and the 'Red Eye', and such), was not a failure EDIT: only one system that had ultimate defenses was saved, in the middle of the shadowzone, but even their inhabitants were missing when an expedition there arrived about 50 years later EDIT2: i uploaded the original Galaxy map i used for 'mine': I rotated it by 180% as the start, then i modified places of the brightest stars, the overall color to more 'bluish' (thus i made it a 'bit younger'), removed the middle part of the now eastern area of the galaxy, made the centrum more 'robust', gave 2 variants of shadows to it, used photoshop tools (blur/spot heal/ect), made it sure the important places become more visible (like the Tail, a lot of star systems, the 'lower part' of the 'tail', ect.), included the glow into its new surroundings, added new stars again , then for spice i put on the whole 4 different texture layers (as it will be printed out, so that shoud look a bit more nicer that way) PS: heh, i think you can guess that race had to be quite powerfull if they blowed up nearly half of the Galaxy

? nope, i didn't do that ...so i guess from your comment, the 4th layer is a bit much, but that the galaxy overall looks realistic?

Since years me and some friends work on a sci-fi/fantasy RPG/system in our free time (called STARMAGE), and now that i became a bit better with graphic programs i try to realize the Galaxy map too. I took a real galaxy for the basis and then 'worked wonders' on it with Photoshop. Here is the outcome, what do you think? Any ideas to improve it maybe? (later i will also include positions and names of the most important regions/solar systems) Right now I guess you guys can only see/find the Scorpion's Tail and The Glowzone (those are quite obvious )

Well, if its to be set in DC, monument avoidance is impossible. The place is rife with them as I assume most country capitals are. it is: just erase them with another nuke (funny that they still stand anyway)

'Word of Chaos' was renamed to 'World of Chaos' and is now out in Germany/Austria. However I do NOT suggest to buy it yet, as you know a lot of patches were needed for even NWN2 to be fully enjoyable (some more could be still usable), and as World of Chaos was done by a small 'garageteam' i don't think they are so swift to patch it as Obsidian. My thoughts on the game: Sadly it became rushed, because since the start of the developement a lot of other similar games were made (NWN2, Oblivion, Gothic 3, ect.), but also because the title was given to a newly created team (the title exists and expands since over 10 years in books, and many other authors also joined to improve/expand it) that had no experience. (other problems in the nation 'lately' modified the quality too sadly) How sad the situation is, is also shown on the fact that the major RPG world created in Hungary, by hungarian authors, favored by many hungarians wasn't even released yet in hungarian in Hungary As said before the world itself is great, but to show that you have to make the game great too. As with many other games today (it seems to be a problem lately) also WoC needs patches...a lot of them to be r eally enjoyable. 2 of the things i dislike about the basics of the game is that : 1. the author 'John Caldwell' allowed the german game releaser to influence him on the original looks of the main character (you already saw Skandar as a typical western looking half-orc from the trailers, so thats not new...) 2. the change of the gamename from 'word' to 'world' put it into a bad situation on the market (as i think) because it now sounds like a silly MMO clone or what Stay tuned? I say yes, after the patches it can still become enjoyable, and you should be ab le to get the world I (also) love to know a bit better. However, i do hope that now after the gamerelease the books get released in other languages too, s those are the 'real spirit' and the game couldn't grow up to the title. We know now the ugly and bad things, any good ones? Well...its out! Many games already fail to become released, so atleast this was managed to become true. I hope the game will be updated, or that maybe the newby team gets now more experienced (or that an experienced western team might get interest in the title and get the license) If you can figure out how i feel right now you can guess my world is a bit shattered after this (like that of the terminator fans after the 3rd movie, or if Troika would have f**ked up V:M for that worlds fans) But again: just look out for the game, when it gets atleast 3rd time patched, and released in english/hungarian languages too EDIT: german site http://www.woc-game.de/
