How about just Coruscant and then unknown planets beyond the outer rim where the character goes on looking for Revan? If that were to be the story) It would still be Star Wars but it would add so much more originality...i mean when you visit places like Dantooine, Tatooine, and Korriban again, you know what to expect. Remember the first time you played KOTOR, when you had never gone to Korriban, or even to the jedi Enclave or Taris, the unexpected, the Star wars made new, remember the feeling you had...

Prequel Battle Meditation

I agree, and just a thought..if you actually consider the jedi classes in KOTOR, Qui- Gon would be classified as a Jedi Consular, like you said, he didn't dedicate all his time for combat training. He did though solve problemas using the force on Tatooine...Obi-wan on the other hand would be a Jedi guardian because not only he fights very well with a saber, but he's always protecting people.. -
I'm not being a jerk or anything but it doesnt take having financial stability to be generous, in fact new developers should be generous when they are growing....don't you see LA?? don't wanna really call them generous...

you know..i was really thinking about how the third game would unfold if it ever came out and i was hoping that Obsidian would take on kotor 3 and really have some time to develop it.It's been announced here at that "Obsidian's Third Game" thread that Obsidian is working on a third project that doesn't have the Bioware liscence (they didnt mention anything about a LA liscence) and also that the project is NOT a sequel.....umm...let me try and stay calm...that not only rules out kotor 3...but its pretty safe to say Bioware is too busy with a possible first person shooter, maybe Jade Empire 2 and that DA game for the PC.. and it seems LA laid off the development team responsible for starting the production of KOTOR 3...i mean am i the only one who is kind of upset the game might not even be announced this year at E3? I don't wanna pick a fight or anything, just adding this to the table... -
i hope these rumors are true..as long as someone makes the game ill be happy, it wouldnt be fair if no one did it. I like the storyline of the kotor series more than the two troligies as a matter of fact

Obsidian Entertainment: Let me just say I enjoyed a lot playing KOTOR 2, I have to give you that.Given the fact the game was just out for the pc on february, it will take a little while until the next game in the series comes along. Hopefully there will be a next game. I don't know if you guys are the ones making it or Bioware and quite frankly, I would be fine with either developer. I know there are other projects to come and all but this is a new star wars liscence that has been an amazing success and the ending of kOTOR 2 only left me wanting more. Please don't ignore this, I'm not asking you to tell me if you guys, Bioware or whoever are doing it, I'm just saying this because i'm frustrated with the ending and there is a lot left to find out and it wouldn't be fair for us star wars fan to just simply end the series after the duels at Malachor V. I basically want to make an appeal. I know you all at Obsidian would gladly take on the 3rd KOTOR if possible. I guess I'm just afraid everybody will get caught up on other projects and leave us kotor fans hanging. Thanks for your time.

Kotor-II ending is a anti-climax
mastah vandah replied to Badsight's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
the problem with the ending is that no matter what your allignment, the plot won't have a drastic twist of fate or anything like that, it kinda felt like my actions had no real consequences...so yeah now the exile goes after Revan...and then what? There has to be a third game in development. -
which is your favourite

Definitly, kotor 1 is better it has a better story you play as Revan and i'm sorry but on the second game, i just didn't get that "oooh i was a sith lord...now what do i do type of feeling." still i like the second one for its improved gameplay mechanics and party members which are more complex, yet sometimes annoying... -

I understand exactly what you mean, as a matter of fact I agree with you..and really, the romance itself is the least i care about in all of the kotor series, but i was just exploring the possibilities of returning characters and their motivation which might drive the plot for the next game. I tell ya, because Revan is Revan is what makes me play over and over, he was a villain, conqueror than savior or conqueror, sith lord you name it the guy's done it, it's imperative that he's back on the third game. He's extremely complex...as far as carth and atton go, they are as useless as they could possibly get..and the others, except for hk47, should jump off a cliff. -
KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions

Revan's destiny is unresolved. Check. The Exile's destiny is unresolved. Check. Kotor 2's ending is a cliff hanger. Check. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind the third game is in development. As far as the plot goes, after playing both games finishing light and dark side, this is what i conclude: In my opinion, the third game will feature a brand new main character. The idea of bringing Revan back and/or the exile as playable characters simply wouldn't make sense for the simple reason that both these characters are super powerful by the time the third game takes place. It would be a bummer to simply say " oh well, Revan was stripped away from the force while visiting the outer rim." This kind of thing would just kill the story and also that has already happened to the exile, that is what that character is for. Bringing either of these two characters to level 1 again would make us feel that everything we accomplished on the first or second games was for nothing because now we have to develop either or both all over again. As far as the new main character goes, in my opinion, that will be a recruited human which is most likely to come under the training of the Lost Jedi(the Ebon Hawk crew members) that Darth Traya referred to at the end of the Sith Lords. Regardless of what the exile chooses to do at the end of the second game, the Lost Jedi will grow in their affinity to use the force over the next few years before Kotor 3 starts, thus explaining why they would be considered Jedi Master, thus being credible enough to train the new character. The fact that in Kotor 2, when we visit the enclave for the last time, it is rebuilt, suggests that it is a viable place for the Lost Jedi to go to and make use of it. Now, bear with me, after visiting the Jedi Enclave at least 3 times in kotor and kotor 2, it would make more sense if the academy was located somewhere else. Maybe Coruscant. I'll tell you why that would make sense. In my opinion, if the Kotor series(which is a brand new star wars liscence) will continue up to game 6(let's just say), the developer would already have a new villain to work with which is the Sith Empire, being fully introduced in the third game. What world better than the Republic's capital to be a place for the Jedi to gather and form strategies? Well, the situation of the glaxy looks really bad by the end of Kotor 2. Let's say the Lost Jedi got to Coruscant and that's where their new base is. There has to be a reason as to why the Lost Jedi would send the main character to the outer rim after the exile and Revan. Maybe the fact that the Lost Jedi were once under the leadership of the exile, who was once under the leadership of Revan would be a good reason. First of all, there are many romances involved in the story, so it is safe to say that the ebon hawk crews would want their main characters to return because depending on how you finished the first game, there was love involved in the plot somewhere. Thus, the main character would go to the outer rim looking for Revan and/or the exile. My next point would be: what could the developer do to Revan and the exile that would make them useful for the third game? Well, first thing that by being a gamer and understanding the plot, I can say that I seriously doubt they will kill Revan or the exile. One possibility would be that Revan fell again to the dark side and the exile didn't yet. Maybe the exile could be the NPC that joins your party while you are exploring the planets in the outer rim. Meanwhile, needless to say, The Sith Empire will play a pivotal role and you would be kicking their butts all the time, but they would be harder to kill. Maybe Revan and the Exile can help the main character fight the final battle against the Leader of the Sith Empire, thus causing a shake up in the ranks of the Sith which could maybe explain why it took so long until they came again at full power against the unsuspecting Jedi so many years later. Unless we are able to determine who Revan is and what he/she looks like, I think it will make sense if he falls to the dark side again, because he can use the black robe and all that stuff from the first game and it would be fine. Now the exile puzzles me. One thing is for certain, in Kotor 3, the exile won't end the force, because otherwise the trilogies wouldn't make sense. Now as soon as I think of something ill post it.....thanks for reading.
